Troubled.

Friday, May 11, 2012

Well, I'm still here! I have been tracking my food somewhat, and starting to get somewhat back on track. My mood seems to be better.

I was started on some new medication which originally helped me stick to my diet, but now that the adjustment period is over, I can't seem to stick to anything for a single DAY. It is crushing my self-esteem. I don't know where that unshakable resolve went! I did induction on Atkins, lost like 7-9 pounds, and have been a yo-yo ever since.

It really feels bad to fail every day. Day in and day out, after trying so hard. I don't know what's wrong with me.

I agree with LA.Princess - you should throw out diets all together. Sometimes when we do "diets" the need for perfection arises. In this need for perfection, we are hard on ourselves when we "fail." However, what is failing? If you eat a piece of chocolate, did you fail? If you have a coke, did you fail? If you are tired and don't workout, are you a failure? The answer to all of these questions are NO! You are human. We're all human. You deserve to treat yourself better.

Think about this for a minute. If you have a SP friend beating themselves up in a blog about all the things that they did to "ruin" their nutrition or telling themselves how bad they were that they didn't workout one day or one week, what would you say? How would you respond to them? I'm pretty sure you would say - it's okay. Don't be hard on yourself. Get back on track with the next meal or the next workout.

Okay then - why are you so hard on yourself? Is it because you expect yourself to be perfect; to always eat 100% clean; to workout every single day? I think you need to take time to reflect on what put you here in the first place? No one is 100% perfect so throw those diets out the window. Just do the best you can 80-90% of time and enjoy life the other 10%. So what if it takes a little bit longer to reach your goal, this is about a healthier lifestyle not a number on a scale.

You need to BELIEVE in yourself. YOU are WORTH this! YOU can DO this! YOU are STRONG!

I think you should forget about diets. Just feed your body healthy foods, log your minutes, and drink lots of water. Try stepping away from the big picture for a little while and just focus on each day as a little mission. emoticon
You have to stay positive. I had a terrible week but I'm not letting it bring me down and today has been great.

Today is my first day on second shift. Wish me luck!

I haven't had much to blog about lately, but I am having some problems with my diet. STILL. I don't know how I got so off track. But today is a new day!

Things Are Looking Up.

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

I applied for another shift at work this past week, and I got it! I am currently on a third shift position, and it is killing my diet and exercise (not to mention, I have no life on my days off - I sleep them away)! I am now moving to second shift, which starts next month (in like a week). I am so excited! I think this 3 pm - 11 pm shift will work out much better for my lifestyle. I like to go to bed early and wake up early.

In other news, I am back on Atkins diet. I have been straying on and off for a couple of weeks, and my weight loss will soon reverse itself if I don't figure out what I am doing. So, this morning I had induction pancakes! I added some flax seed to put some fiber back in my diet.

Anyway, I hope all of you are having a great week so far! Let's make this week a good one.

Goals for the Week:
- Stick to my diet, which I will plan a day in advance.
- Drink up that water! emoticon
- Cut back on caffeine (no more caffeine pills for me - only two shifts on 3rd left!)
- Eat plenty of veggies and a salad per day! emoticon emoticon
- Get in plenty of exercise, but at least 3 times for the rest of this week! 30 minutes a session, minimum.

That's all, folks!

It sounds like you've got a plan for success, it's motivating to see someone who's getting everything together! I have a friend who lost 80 lbs on atkins and has kept it off, so it can work!

5% Challenge Weigh-in

Saturday, April 21, 2012

I weighed in this morning at 138.0 lb. That makes me down 1 lb. from last week overall for the 5% Spring Challenge.

I am happy with that! I am starting to slowly creep downward with the weight, and once I am in the lower 130's, I know 149 lb. (my starting weight a mere few months ago!) is long history!

We can do it, emoticon!

Back on track!

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

I weighed in today at 138 lb. again, so I am officially back on track with my weight loss. I lost the 1.5 pounds I gained back.

I went for a walk this morning and it felt really good. I may even do my workout video today. It has been gathering dust for weeks and weeks!
