So I have been "working" on losing weight and getting in shape, but I've yet to get into a good routine. I've been letting life get the best of me. I've been stuck at 146 for about 2 months now, and I'm frustrated, but not giving up.

I want to start off August strong, and I want to lose 10 lbs by the end of the month. I am starting today, a day early. I want to commit to 5 days a week of cardio and at least 3 days a week of strength training. I'm also going to restart my push up and sit up apps again.

Eating hasn't been Terrible per say, but hasn't been great either. I've also decided no alcohol for August. I want to stick to my calorie goal, and start losing weight again.

Bootcamp is coming up fast, and could be moved up even sooner, so its time to kick it into gear and get off my butt!

Then, Now, and Soon!

So I've been on a weight loss/fitness journey since January of last year. I started at 176 lbs, and I'm 5'5''. I'm 23 now, 22 when I started. As like most people on the site, I have been in the yoyo dieting for many years. I've been up to 165, and down to 122. I've been varying like this since I was in middle school.

I've recently watch my mother who is 53 develop a heart condition that is majorly effecting her life. She's had multiple surgeries, and in the next two months alone will have two more. My sister, bless her heart, is over 300 lbs, but so far remaining "healthy". As well as most of my extended family is all over-weight if not obese. As a younger person, I did what anyone in a family like this would do. I gave up, and blamed my genetics for more high weight, and poor choices. I also did what most people do regardless of their family, blamed it on excuses like, "I didn't have time to cook" "I was up too late to want to make my own breakfast" "I was too tired to exercise" "My (insert body part) hurts too much to want to go for a walk", etc, etc, etc.

January of last year I finally decided I was done with being this stupid about my health. It was time to stop making excuses, stop waiting for health to find me. I knew and still know that it is going to always be a struggle, and it isn't going to just be handed to me in life, but what ever is? I know that anything worth having is worth working for.

I've since then lost a total of 30 lbs, now being down to 146. My journey is far from over though. One of my largest goals with fitness and weight loss was to be able to enlist in the Military. Since losing the 30 lbs, I am now in the weight range I need to be in to enlist, and have signed my Delayed Entry Program paperwork for the Navy. I have booked a cruise in September and will be leaving shortly after that time for the Navy. I'm excited, scared, and nervous.

So my current goals now are to get into the shape, fitness level, and mental readiness that I will need to make it through not only the physical portions, but the mental portions of bootcamp. As a long term sight to my current goals I plan to stay in this fitness level, and never leave it again. I want to be hiking, and exploring every inch this world has to offer, whether its on a trail, through the woods, over a mountain, or in the middle of the ocean!

I'm so proud of you, and I love your goals! You're going to excel. I know it! Keep strong and keep determined to be the best you can be. Don't let anyone hold you back. And when you achieve your goal weight, and if you feel like overeating for some reason, ask yourself "What is really going on?" Usually it's stress, harsh words from someone, or your tired, or it's something financial. Stay strong. Do something nice for yourself. I believe in you! (By the way, these are words I would say to myself whenever I would get stressed.)

Whitewolves , I love your moniker. I like wolves, and have read a lot about them. Very intelligent animals. emoticon
