Week 27- Bump Growth Spurt and Pics

Monday, May 09, 2011

Another survey because it's Sunday and although I can't sleep I just don't have the energy to put in my effort!
Best we could do at 8am on our way out the door.

How Far Along: 27 weeks

Gender: All boy!

Size of baby: 16 in 2.5 lbs.

Total Weight Gained: no doctor's appt this week and we don't own a scale so who knows.

Maternity Clothes: still wearing a mix although I noticed that some of my non maternity shirts are starting to be too short, only a few more weeks until they are "belly" shirts.

Movement: All the time. He loves to kick when I am trying to sleep. Also I noticed that when the dogs are near he is more active, I wonder if they sense each other already?

Sleep: Blah. When I do sleep I have the most insane dreams. I never believed what people said about crazy pregnancy dreams. Here are 2 that I had last week(weird that I can remember these as well) the first was that I had the baby and he was small but had the head of the Mad Tv guy- with the red hair and big ears. Not only did he look odd but my family had a party and someone in my family made him sleep in a big birdcage-so weird. The second dream involved Nick the foodie from Bethanny Ever After. In the dream he was dressed as a belly dancer with the facial veil and the little chimes on his fingers. He was dancing and charming a really scary snake to keep it away from me. Again soooo odd. My dreams are weird almost every night and I remember almost all of them.

What I miss: Being able to eat what I want. Let me rephrase- being able to eat the things I never really ate before but suddenly want now. Ie a soda with caffeine, deli meat sandwiches(I can not do the warmed up meat, makes me gag) and soft cheeses(I'm freaked out about not having pasteurized ones).

Cravings: Fruit still and for the past few days I really wanted a chocolate chip cookie(I blame the FoodNetwork for this) but I had one today and now I'm good.

Aversions: Hmm this is tough, I'm always thinking of these things as they come but can never remember when it comes time to write them down. Here's one that might just be me being weird. I think I have spidey like senses, as in everything is magnified. I swear my hearing, my sense of smell, my sense of taste and my sight are much more intense. Today at the movies I could literally hear every breath of the guy next to me and I wanted to hurt him.

Symptoms: Had a few contractions last week that I felt for the first time. I also have started experiencing round ligament pain and it's no joke.

Best Moment this Week: Celebrating my first mother's day today even though little guy wasn't here to help us enjoy it.

I have a super busy week, we are packing up and heading to Pittsburgh for my baby shower this weekend. I can;t wait and will make sure to come back with lots of photos. Hope everyone had a good mother's day although it's over.

weekly fuzzy phone shots for you!

i swear this belly popped up overnight. there's no denying it now, there is definitely a baby growing in there :)

First of all you look GREAT!!! The "spidey senses" are real! I felt the same way, especially the smell. I drove my hubby nuts with stuff, "wait, do you smell that?" all the time...the vivid dreams are really nuts, I remember that too. I think you are doing really great!!!

Good luck with everything, very exciting, a boy YAY!!!

Week 26 Survey and pics

Sunday, May 01, 2011

I stole this from someone else and may use it from time to time.

How Far Along: 26 Weeks!

Size of baby: He is around 15 inches long and weighing around 2.2 pounds.
(what to expect.com)

Total Weight Gain: 19 pounds! right on target-whew!

Maternity Clothes: I've been wearing a mix of everything, I can wear all of my sundresses from last season but jeans are a whole different story.

Gender: BOY!!

Movement: Lots of kicking and punching going on. Mostly at night when the hubs and I sit to watch tv. Also felt hiccups for the first time this week :)

Sleep: What kind of question is that? Yikes I wish I could get a good nights sleep. I have terrible issues getting comfortable and now I am starting to get back pains. BOO!

What I miss: I miss feeling super fit and cute in my clothes. I know I am doing the right thing for me and the baby by working out and eating right but it's different now. I tire easily and can't work out quite as intensely as before. and I miss running long distances!

Cravings: Fruit and lots of it. Grapes, pineapple, cantaloupe, banana. I also have been wanting to eat candy but I think that's because I told myself no until after my glucose test tomorrow.

Symptoms: Minor ligament pain but nothing really to complain about. I say this all the time but pregnancy so far has been pretty good(knock on wood) but that makes me worried for delivery.

What Iím looking forward to:
My shower in the next few weeks

Week 25- Cruising Along

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

Hi again all

It seems like these weeks are flying by. I feel like just yesterday I found out I was pregnant and now I have less than 15 weeks left. Crazy. Once you hit the half way mark you just breeze through. Okay well maybe not breeze because pregnancy definitely has it's drawbacks but overall I would say I can't really complain.

Last week we had our monthly doctor visit and had a follow up ultrasound to check on my fluid. Luckily the fluid is definitely higher than it was, although still a little low for how far along I am. The baby is also measuring on the small side but only in weight and inches. His heart, lungs, brain and all other organs look great so hopefully we will have a little baby since I am petrified of having a huge baby. In general the checkup was good. Boy was being so stubborn during the ultrasound though he was all tucked elbow to knee and wouldnt show us his face. I havent seen his profile in so long and I am dying to see it! He;s already driving his mommy crazy! We got the info to register at the hospital so that we have our insurance on file for easy check in for delivery. I also got the paperwork to go and get the glucose test done so I have to go there this coming Monday. Wish me luck because I would not be happy if I had to do the 3 hour test-yuck! My stats were good, my weight gain is right on track and the belly measures fine. I am finally starting to round out a little more so I just can't wait. I have definitely struggled with weight and seeing myself get chubby during this pregnancy. It's hard to be losing for so long and see things go in the opposite direction. I beat myself up a lot but then I just remember that even if I gain a little more(not that I want to) that I know what I need to do to get the weight back off.

I have been going to the gym as much as I can(at least 4 days a week) and getting in walking whenever I can. The only problem is at the gym all of the cardio machines make me feel like I have to pee so as soon as I get on I want to quit. I usually suck it up becuase I know that even if I get off and go pee as soon as I get back on I will still feel that way. Haha it's kinda funny but that's not too bad to complain about I guess. Other than the gym/pee thing my only other main complaint is that I have been having the hardest time getting good rest. If I lie on my right side my whole hip and leg go numb, if I lie on my left my arm goes numb or the worst of them is this back pain I get in the early morning hours. It hurts no matter what position I'm in and usually wakes me up at 5 when the hubby leaves and keeps me up for at least an hour. It's hard to fall back asleep so I am not getting a full 8 hours which I defintely need. Again this is a minimal complaint because this pregnancy has been easy-knock on wood.

Tom tore all of the carpet out of the bedrooms, hall and my walk in closet this weekend and the new carpet should be installed early next week. I am so excited to have one more thing off of our baby ready list. He also finished the trim work as well as replacing the ceiling fan. Now all that's left is to set up the furniture. I have started ordering decorations for the room including a decal that Tom picked out. I can't wait for you all to see the pictures. I hope it will be awesome. I also picked out some fabrics for a couple of sewing projects that I hope Tom's mom can help me with. I love Etsy but refuse to pay the prices for some of the stuff on there. Tom's mom is a fantastic seamstress so she has always offered her services and I pay her in love and gratitude which I love! Our Easter was quiet. We had pasta for dinner and just watched a movie. It was nice to not be running around in Pittsburgh trying to visit both families like we normally have to. We did get to have FaceTime with my family at dinner which was so nice. If you have an Iphone definitely try it. Its awesome. My nephews get such a kick out of being able to see us while we talk. It was nice, they just passed the phone around and I got to show my belly to a few of them and just seeing all of their faces made me smile. It was like being there without the stress!

I think that's it for this week. I leave you with the obligatory belly shots. Hope you all have a great week!

the belly looks so different clothed!

you still look so awesome!!! you are deff all belly girl! but i know EXACTLY how you feel cause ive been feeling THE SAME WAY!! i keep telling my hubby how fat i feel and he yells at me and say to get over cause im gonna get bigger!!! and that im not fat, just pregnant! but it is really hard to watch yourself go in teh other direction, especially when for the past 2 years ive been working so hard on going in the opposite direction!!! i dont have a gym so i modify some jillian dvds, that way i can still work out my arms and legs, and i dont let myself get too out of breath....and then of course i walk! thats my favorite =)

hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Week 24- Catching up

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Hi everyone!

I swear I see all of your comments on my blogs and page but I am so busy lately that I never get on the computer anymore to respond. That's a huge downfall of 1. not having a job where you are glued to a computer all day and 2. having a phone where you can read all of this stuff but have no patience to type responses to! I will try really hard to get better at this.

Last week I noted that Tom's family came for a visit. It was great and just a really pleasant weekend. Tom was beside himself because the girls really adore him! They just tell him they love him and want to play with him from sunup to sundown. He was cute with them too holding their hands and playing bingo. It makes me so excited for him with our kids. He is super nervous about being around babies because he definitely feels more comfortable with older kids but I can tell that he will be a good daddy! We took the girls into DC to see the Cherry Blossoms which were already all dead, it was a total bummer, especially since they had the parade and a ton of stuff scheduled for that weekend. Seems strange to have that much going on when the blossoms would already be gone but you can't predict what mother nature will do. It was kinda chilly all weekend but the girls didn't complain at all. After looking at the blossoms we had a picnic on the lawn which was stressful for me but turned out fine. Both of Tom's nieces have a sensitivity to food coloring so his sister has eliminated food coloring from all of their diets which doesn't seem too crazy but you would be surprised how many foods have food coloring. Luckily we have a Trader Joe's close by and they only use vegetable coloring in their food so I stocked up there. We also went into the Air and Space museum which Clara the 5 year old loved. She's into planes and what not but they were hitting their limit on being out and they were starving again. All those kids do is snack, they never really eat a meal just a bunch of healthy snacks all day. Sounds like a certain pregnant woman? Before they left on Sunday we also took them to the National Aquarium in Baltimore. It was fun but I was so wiped out from 3 days of prepping and walking around that I was ready for a rest!

In other news we finally have the plans for the shower completely ironed out and invitations were sent Saturday. My shower will be in Pittsburgh May 15. I'm excited to see everyone, especially friends and family who haven;t seen me since we announced we were pregnant. My what can change in just a few months! My sisters are doing a superhero theme for the party becuase they know Tom is into that stuff and I am okay with anything. I guess being laid back is a good thing in my family. Other than the theme I pretty much stayed out of the planning so I will be excited to see it when it all comes together. I have wonderful sisters and momma who just do too much for me!

Today I am sitting at home all day basically waiting for a few different appts. We had someone coming to fix our sink this morning between 10 and 12 and he just left so that's one to do crossed off my list. The next appt is for a carpet measurer to come between 2-4 to measure the bedrooms for the new carpet we ordered Sunday. I am so excited to finally get the carpet done because now we can move in the baby furniture. I am dying not being able to decorate the nursery. As soon as carpet is in I will post some general pictures and then we will do a final reveal as soon as it's all done!

Otherwise we are just hanging out. Tom and I are spending Easter at home this year rather than drive into Pittsburgh since we know I will be up there in a few weeks for my shower. It will be a low key weekend minus the big event on Saturday- TOMS BIRTHDAY. He doesnt make a big deal out of his birthday and all he has asked for is homemade cupcakes. I'm wracking my brain to come up with a low key gift but so far- nothing! I have a few days to pull something together so maybe tomorrow when I'm not locked to this house I can do some shopping.

Here are the weekly belly pictures, it seems I have finally really started to show which I love. Up until now with clothes on you could barely tell but it's getting harder to not notice the belly. I give you 2 bare bellies and 1 clothed so you can see.

I swear I look bigger from this side?

Clothing can't hide the bump!

Have a great week and safe holiday everyone!
