Well, it has been several days since I left a blog on Sparks. I have been extremely busy and the only thing I had time for was to enter my food tracker and exeercise. Outside of that I was off the grid.
Well Hubby is back on the merry go round of working. At least he is only having to work 8 hours a day, but this week it is 7 days and it looks like 7 next week. I really want him to have some time off. I feel that so many hours are just too hard on the body, but as we both agreed, a job today is very important as so many are out of work and he will work whatever is required to stay eployed. We are working very hard to pay off all our obligations and put as much in savings as we can. We are almost out of debt except for monthy expenses. The main obligation we have is our automobile and we would not have that except that we were broadsided in an intersection two years ago and our car was totalled. We always purchase a nice vehicle but never new ( a really good preowned auto) and dirve it until the wheels fall off. Hubby makes sure they are well maintained, oil changed regularly and when anything is going wrong, fixing it before it become a big issue.
Hubby worked a job for 23 years and he was planning to retire from there. Unfortunately the company was sold and the new company made so many changes, and closed the local plant. He does have a small retirement from them but only about 1/8h of what it would have been with the original company. We were fortunate enough to pay ff our mortgage when the company closed. Believe you me that is a great relief. No Mortgage payments each month. We still have all the other expenses, utilities, insurance, taxes, repairs, but we feel really blessed not to have a mortgage payment. Hubby told me three years ago to go and find a house that I wanted and he would buy, but I told him no I do not want another house at this time. The one we have is small, but it is home and it has been good to us. We are comfortable and we have seen so many of our friends having a really hard time because of the mortgages on their homes. Any little mishap in their income or a major unexpected expense and they are on the road to disaster.
Hubby is always laughing at me for hoarding my change. I asked him to help me with our linen closet. I wanted to take everything out and put the shelves in differently to allow for more storage. He decided he need to move all the wine bottles on the floor first. After moving three, he said what is this. They are all full of change that I have been dropping in them for years. Right now I have a large plastic mixed nut jar sitting on the floor under a table where I am putting my present change. He could not believe how much I have squirreled away a few pennies a day. He wants to roll it and take it to the bank. I agreed, but told him, it had to be exchanged for bills to be squirreled away by me for emergencies.
I observed him last week, with a small peanut butter jar on the night stand and he is dropping in his left over change. I have not said anything to him as he has always laughed at me saying it would not add up to anything.
Miss Coco is doing well. She is getting over her latest mistake in our house. I went to bed last night and she was laying on a pillow. I reached over and started to pat her and she grawled at me and snapped at me and tryed to bit. Well, I will say, I do not allow that kind of behavior. I did a lite smack on her nose and raised my voice to her telling her no not acceptable. She grawled again and snapped. That was it. It picked her little bode up and told her firmly that was not allowed. I put her down on the pillow and reached my hand over to her. She put a little tooth to my hand and I told her it had better not be. She started licking my hand and did so for the next 5 minutes. I did not stop her as it was her way of making up. She then crawled under the cover and curled up along my back. Today, she has been like a little piece of velco sticking to me like glue. At the market, it was hard for her as I am moving around the booth waiting on customers. She would stretch as far as she could on her little leash and whimper when I would be on the other side out of her site.
Hubby went to be early as he has to get up and go to work. He woke up a little while ago and came in asking me where she was. She was laying in lap taking a nap. Normally, she would be in bed with him but she is working her little mojo on me to forgive her for her mistake.
