Hubby had to work today again. So I was going to work at the Market. Miss Coco goes with me and loves her weekends there. I got up and went into our bath to start getting ready to go. I heard some deep barking coming from right under the window. I knew that it was in my yard and not across the fence. It was not the bark of our neighbos dog that is in that yard. I knew it was a large dog. I knocked on the wall to hopefully scare it off, but no the barking became more violent. I decided it was after one of the cats and it was trying to get under or behind the air conditioning. As I continued to get ready Miss Coco became acitated and barking out the front window. I went and looked and it was a large pit bull that I did not know. I knocked on the window and it would not run. I knew that I could not take Coco out as I was afraid. I opened the door and tryed to run it off but ot luck. Finally, I could not see it any more so I picked up Miss Coco and put her in the car. Not allowing her to do her morning business. ON the way out I stopped at a neighbors and they both went to my yard to try and locate the dog. I called Hubby and called on of the gentlemen and they had seen it 3 times after I left, but could not get it. They were going to try and capture it and we would have it picked up Monday morning.

Hubby found out itbelongs to the man behind us and it had knocked down part of the priviacy fence. He told Hubby that this dog hates cats. I told Hubby to inform him that I never say anything if my cats go into his yard, but this had better not come back in to my yard looking for the cats. So far, we have only found one of the three cats that we have. I am concerned. I will be afraid to take Miss Coco out when I do not know where this animal is. Hubby repaired the fence, but I do not trust this dog.

How awful for you-I agree with Vicious421- Pitbulls have gotten a really bad reputation which is unfortunate. They are very sweet by nature when treated well. Good plan if you should run innto him again. You can never trust any dog you do not know. Shame on the owner if he does not correct this problem immediately! Take care.

I would be scared too!!! You might consider reinforcing the fence. Pits are not bad dogs but become what their owners make them. Just remember if he ever gets through the fence when you are in the yard to pick up Coco, walk to the house never turning your back to the pit & say no & go home in a firm authoritative voice til you get in the house. Don't make sudden movements & don't run.
Maybe you will luck out & the owner will move.

I really love to cook and try new things. I was watching Racheal Ray today and she as fixing pork chops with a bell pepper, onion mix. I thought that looked good. I had a split pork loin in the frige and the little fancy sweet peppers. I make the recipe with what I had on hand and it was really good. Of course, cutting the little fancy sweet peppers in to strips took longer than the one that Racheal used, I felt I would use what was on hand. Hubby really liked it. When I purchase this pork cut, Hubby and I usually get two meals from a package and I have everything to make the other one with a muchroom sauce which we really like. This recipe, I duplicated from a local resturant that charges $19.50 for their pork loin meal. I can do this one for about $6-7 total depending on the price of the pork at the time. I do try t purchase it on sale and keep some in the freezer.

When I was at the grocery, I found a beautiful corned beef (which I love and do not have very often). The only thing is I forgot to get cabbage and that is something that I really want with the corned beef. Hubby said he would pick up some cabbage on the way home from work tomorrow.

I have found that If I stay out of the grocery and only go about every week and half, I save lots of money. I check the specials, use coupons and buy meats and chicken on sale and put into serving sizes in the freezer for future use. I try to plan for the week, using the fresh from the grocery, and what is in the house freezer. We have a freezer in our storage garage that is loaded with veggies, etc from sales. I have a list on the side of the freezer with dates so I know what we need to use first. I mark it off when I move it to the freezer on the frige which also has a list. When I use that down I go to the big freezer to replishnesh. When I cook something and have leftover for freezing (chilli, soups, barbeque, etc). I put it in the house freezer because it is something that we need to use in the next three weeks or so.

Hubby is a great cook. He loves to select recipes and make them. I enjoy it when he does this as I gives me a break. Right now when he is working so many hours he does not feel like cooking. He did tell me that he is planning on grilling a couple of afternoons next week when he gets off. He really enjoys this. The only thing is he wants me in a chair sitting with him and talking etc while he is grilling. I just usually stop whatever I am doing go out and sit with him. He will fix me a drink and make sure that our camp chairs are sit up where we have some quite time to talk and just be with each other. I use to always have excuses not to be out with him, until I reaized it was a good time for us. It is a time to talk quitely, enjoy the outdoors and relax. I have noticed that at times he moves everything off the heat so it will not cook so fast so we will have more time to just relax.

I envy your organizational skills in your freezer! That is something I always try to do but end up messing up. I noticed that I have a note on my fridge that tells me that I have lentil burgers in the freezer. They have been gone now for about 6 weeks. The note however seems to last into perpetuity! I have succeeded in putting all the portioned baggies of rice, beans and pasta into zip locks. I did the same with soups, but the rest of it is pretty much a free for all. Good luck finding anything! I don't understand this flaw as I am really anal in so many other aspects of my life...spices in alphabetical order, different colors of hangers for different types of clothing, short sleeves, long sleeves, jackets etc. However, my freezer will forever be a wasteland, I'm afraid!

Well, today was Miss Coco's spa day and I will tell you she started early letting me know it was her day. Hubby has to leave the house by 4:15 AM to get to work on time. I do not get up with him. I am awake when he leaves, but I snuggle up under the covers and sleep a few more hours. About 5:30 Miss Coco started, She wanted me up. She pulled at my cover, etc. I got up and checked out the house to see if anything was wrong and she was trying to get my attention. I opened the door and let her run out in case she was having an emergency herself. She ran to the car, sat by the driver's door and started barking at me as if she was saying come on we have to go. I got her back in the house, put her in bed and tucked her under the cover next to me so she would go back to sleep. Well, that lasted for about 20 minutes and we started all over. Her appointment is at 9:30 so there was not rush on my part. I got up had a cup of coffee and a scrabled egg sandwich for breakfast. Got myself ready and watched the news on TV. Miss Coco was beside herself as I was not ready to leave when she thought we should.

At 8:30 I was ready to leave. I asked her if she wanted to go. Out the door she bound. Sitting by the car. I told her we were going nowhere until she had done her business. After standing there and not opening the car door, she finally broke down and went to do her business. When I am driving I do not allow her to lay on me, etc. So the closest she can get is in the passager seat with her little head on the center armrest looking at me. This is the way we drove across town. When we arrived at the groomers she was all excited out seeing her.

I left her and picked her up about 3 hours later. I asked if there was anything unusual about her behavior. She told me she was really ready to get in the tub. I asked if she had any fleas etc. No, but she had a slight odor like she had gotten into something. Our gromer said she did not smell it unil she hit the water and then I wondered what she had been into.

I think I figured it out. She got into something that she could smell and was afraid I would take care of it my way. Last week she found something in the yard and rolled in it. Really bad..... Hubby was ready to go to bed and she ran in to jump up with him and he was complaining about how bad she smelled. He kept telling me to come sniff. I told him to hold her and cover her face and eyes I got the bottle of Febreeze and spayed her rubbed it nto her fur . I will say the smell was gone but she was not happy that I sprayed her.

I had another poodle mix that was always finding something to roll in and get smelly and she was happy. Our little Whiteangel would not roll in anything that smelled. Being white, she was like Pig Pen and loved to get dirty but not smelly. I would be nice if the thought of being Febreezed will keep her from rolling in anything that smells. I have noticed that if she goes out and cats have done in a small lizard, etc. on the walkway she will roll in it. She loves to roll on dead Palmetto bugs. ugh.........I have noticed that she walks a wide circle around the Febreeze bottle whenever I sit it where she can see it

Well, I had a lot of errands today. Off to the bank, next stop to shop for a new phone. I am not happy with the one that I have and I am checking out the new ones n the market. I find that if I go to a young person, they are so happy to talk to me about the different features on the different phoes. The one today, pulled his out and showed me how it worked and what could be done with it. At another location, the same thing happened. Each showed me a different phone, but basically the same type of technology. They both gave me pros and cons on many of the models.

I had to stop by the office to get my book for study fo work this season. I came home and worked up the first three chapters. Our classes will start the first week of October and I hope to have all the projects worked in the first book when the classes start. It is the basis and I should know all this by this year 6 in this field.

I got more merchandise ready for my location that I opened this month. I will go tomorrow to add new merchandise and just fluff the existing.

I had a meeting tonight as Hubby could not go with me. He had a 16 hour work day so he was in bed when I got home at 9.

The way Miss Coco was carrying on when I got home I had been gone forever. She wants us both home at the same time and she will often not go to bed with Hubby until I am ready to go to bed.

Well, Hubby had to work Saturday and Sunday and I was working the market alone. It was extremely hot and then the really hard afternoon storms would come in. I tried to leave early to beat the storms home, but circumstances prevented it both days and I had to drive home in the raging storms. Miss Coco is not too happy when one of us have to work the market alone as she does not get all her treats.

Saturday moning I ran over to the resturant and had them put a little girts about a half cup into a cup with about a third of a scrambled egg. They have a buffet line that they serve from and the eggs were all that was left in the pan. They told me they would cook more, but i told them no it was for Miss Coco. I went to the cashier to pay for her eggs and grits and the lady looked at the little amount in the cup and asked about why so little. I told her that was about how much Miss Coco gets from Hubbys breakfast and she did not need any more. She laughed and said well Miss Coco could enjoy them on the house.

The lady that I got her from came by with some ice cream in in a cup and she sat there and feed her with the spoon. Of course, Miss Coco thought she was in heaven. But Sunday was so much hotter and we could not get away to get anything. She had her frozen water bottles in her bed that she lays on and I put a ice cube in her water dish every 20 minutes or so. But I will tell you she was not happy with ther dry food in her dish.

Today, I ran erands and came back home. I was going to watch a new program on tv and she got up in my lap, pressed her little head up to my neck in her form of a hug and settled down in my lap and went to sleep. Every once in a while she has really soft snoore that you can hear if you listen close.

Hubby is on 10 hour days this week. I had a tuna salad when he got home and then he told me is has to work 16 hours tomorrow so he ate and went to bed early. We are thankful he has a job in these times, but we would like a little less hours. HOpefully he will not have towork this weekend, but we will not know until Wednesday. These kind of hours put him well over the breakeven point on overtime and then the government ends up wit all the additional money.
