Well, we were busy yesterday and we came home and cleaned out our freezer so that we can enjoy the bounties of this season. I was really surprised to find that we had cycled the food in there very well. I did take out my last container of freezer strawberry jam and put in the frige. I will cheat a little with this small container. I keep frozen buscuits in the freezer and I will bake me one and have the soup jam over it like shortcake. Hubby moved everything to the top shelf, and door, leaving the rest for us to use with this seasons fruits and veggies. We also know that we need to use the food on the door and the top shelf first. We do keep a couple of freezer meals for quick use at time. We had a couple of Benelli frozen bags the freezer and one small lasguna. We sorted out the few beans we have left from last years crops. We really enjoyed these all winter long. Hubby's family have a farm and we usually put up a bushel of white acre peas, purple hulls and blackeyes. We freeze them in containers for the two of us. If we are having these when we have company, we have to use two or three containers. We find this helps us not to cook more than we need and therefore, we do not waste much.
Coco, thought this was exciting. As we were putting all the frozen foods into the cooler, she wanted to pull them out and run with them. Finally, she understood the tone of Hubbys voice and would lay next to the cooler rolling up her eyes. You could tell it was hard for her, but she did not want him to use that tone with her. She knows it means no playing. Finally when we were through, we sat out in the yard with large glasses of fresh mint ice tea and Hubby pitched toys with her so she ran and ran until she could not move anymore. Hubby had grilled some shrimp on the grill and we tossed them with fresh field greens and a vinagerette dressing for dinner.

Well, Hubby and I both had appointments for hair cuts this morning. They were both much needed by each of us. Mine had grown a lot in the last 6 weeks and it was really heavy. I told my hairdresser that I needed some weight out of my hair, but I still wanted the basic style just shorter. She agreed that there was just too much hair. She worked on it and gave me a great looking style for the hot weather. It is up off my neck but still has the length around my face, etc. She tapered it and layered it to take a lot of the weight out of the style. I do not mind the weight when the weather is cool, but just too much for me this time of the year. I do not have to worry if she gets it a little short, it will be out there in no time. I usually have to have it trimmed every 3 to 4 weeks. She also cuts Hubby's hair. He has thick wavy hair and it grows really fast like mine. She accuses us of taking a feritilizer for our hair. We do take our vitamins and minerals so I guess that keeps our hair healthy. It really grows when I take biotin, but I have not taken that in about 6 months.
While we were out Hubby wanted to go to a local resturant that has great meatloaf. I said okay. I had their roast veggie salad with vinegar and oil dressing and was it good. I had not had this salad since last summer and forgot they had it on their menu. They roast their veggies fresh and if they do not have roasted veggies, they have it off the menu. It is listed under their column "available seasonally, inquire about these items".
We came home and Hubby took a nap before going to work. Miss Coco curled up beside him. She feels it is her duty to help him nap before work and then she is ready to go out and run when he is leaving. He now gets up about 15 minutes earlier so he can take her out for her run before he leaves. She then jumps upon the bench in front of the window to watch him leave. She knows what time he is suppose to be home and she runs in about 15 minutes early and jumps on the bench to watch for him coming in. She then runs and jumps on me to open the door so she can get out and meet him when he is getting out of his truck. I always make sure that he is parked and has the motor off before I open the door. It really confuses her when he has to work a 10 hour shift as she is sitting there over 2 hours before he is coming in. This is when she will come and look at me as if to say, well, where is he.

Well, hubby is working a double again today. I stayed in bed until about 8:30 when I was awaken by someone sniffing my face. Little Miss Coco was trying to get my attention, She had no food or water in her dish. I got up and gave her both, got dressed. She was really thirsty and drank quit a bit, She then went to the door and sat patiently for me to go out with her. We went out the back and she was playing with the cats. They ran and jumps and spent about 45 minutes just until they all dropped in little furry piles at my feet as I sat in the chair drinking my hot tea.
I told her I had to run tot he post off and a couple of other quick stops. She ran to the front door and I did not have the heart to leave her. We went to the post office and it was not busy so she sat patiently in the car for me. I went to the drive thru at the bank as they were busy and I did not want to leave her in the car very long. We sat in the bank line for 20 minutes. She would have been too hot in the car if I went inside. I called Panara Bread and placed an order so it would be ready for pick up when I got there. I was planning on bringing it home for my lunch. Well, Miss Coco thought it should be hers. I finally had to stop the car, take the chicken salad and put it in the trunk. I could not drive and keep an eye on her and make her stay out of the bag.
She danced all the way in the house thinking this was hers. Finally, I put it on my plate and she sat patiently waiting for her bite. Finally, I gave her a little bit in her bowl and she was happy.
I will say that she has been full of herself today. She has sat with me watching Oprah this afternoon. Then we went back out for another run with the cats. She is now curled up taking a nap.
