DINNER WITH FAMILY

Tuesday, May 26, 2009

Hubby, sister and I met my niece her husband and her daughter and friend for dinner at Carrabbas in Franklin, the half way point between their homea nd my sisters. We enjoyed our time together. He ate lots of food, not on my plan, talked and laughed a lot and had a really good time. So good to get to spend time with family. I do miss it being so far away. I am thankful for my girl friends. They are my family away from home. I do realize how much I appreciate them.

SAD NEWS

Monday, May 25, 2009

We received a phone call today that our aunt hd passed. She lost her husband of 63 years last month. She seemed in good health and getting around very well. They found her in her bed this morning. She had cared for our uncle for the last three years when we was not able to get around. He passed at 93. We were not planning to spend part of our vacation at the funeral home, but we were unable to come up for our Uncle's services.

ARRIVED AT SISTER'S HOME

Sunday, May 24, 2009

Well, we drove up all the way in the rain. At some times it was extrememly heavy. It took about 2 extra hours this trip. We had to stop when it got too heavy to see well. It has been raining since we arrived here. The weather forecast shows rain most of the week. But we are still enjoying our visit. This is the first time we have met my sister's new poodle, Francy. She got her when she was 7 months old. She is white and about 9 pounds. She is friendly and happy. My sister got her after she lost her little teacut poodle of 10 years. She has wrapped Hubby around her little white paw. We left Coco with our groomer while we are here as we were not sure how they would get along. We may try to bring her next trip if all works out.

ON THE ROAD

Saturday, May 23, 2009

Well, we are off on our trip. I am excited about going, I just hate the time it takes to get there. We are packing a cooler with snacks so we do not have to stop and eat on the way. I never enjoy food at resturants when we are traveling. When we arrive at our destination, I am ready for good foot, but for some reason I just do not like to stop in the middle of the journey for a resturant. We do stop at rest areas and take a short nap, etc. We have out thermo mugs with ice and we have our bottle water in the car. We have fresh cut apples, cheese, wheat thins, nuts and four Dove chocolates packed. I have a new James Patterson audio for the trip up and a Sturat Woods for the return trip.

PACKING FOR VACATION

Friday, May 22, 2009

I began getting everything ready to pack for our vacation this next week. I have most of my clothes together. I have half way packed my bag. Cosmetic bag is almost completely packed. I am trying to do this without Coco realising I am getting things ready to go away. We will take her to the Groomer first thing Saturday morning and then come back and pack the car. She loves to stay with them. She is part of the family, sleeping on the bed and staying in the house with them. I feel we were fortunate in finding her when we had Biancia. She never stayed anywhere else during her 18 years and I am hoping the same for Coco.
