Well yesterday I spent over 4 hours at my credit union. On the 8th a gentlemen called me from the credit card company asking me questions about charges. He advised me of 5 charges on my card. Not mine. He advised the card was cancelled and I would receive a replacement. He also advised that all would be removed. Then on Saturday I received a statement. It had a new account number plus the 5 charges and the transfer of my balance I immediately called and got a nice lady that advised since I did not have all the account number she could not help me, but advised my local credit union could.
Told Hubby I had a bad feeling so I was going to deal with this through a live person at my branch and let them take care of it. First phone call at 9:30am. Everyone said not a problem. Could not handle locally had to go directly to crdit card company. Everyone was happy to tell me the $54.95 charge had been credited. Great but there were over $5000 airline tickets that were not credited. Informed by first person they could not help because the card was cancelled. I advised I wanted to protest the charges transferred to the replacement card. Each person would put us on hold and then the original robot phone would come on advising all reps busy but would answer as soon as possible. We actually had a supervisor in fraud on line and we were cut out and back to original. At 12:30 we got a lady on the line and she was asking me questions. I was at this point upset (the CU rep could not show that he was upset) The lady informed me I had no reason to be upset. Quickly informed her she was not sitting in chair, being cut off over 8 times and getting no help. They had advised that I had to complete paperwork and it would be up to 21 days before I would receive. We had ask that it be faxed immediately. When I became emotional with her, the CU rep Gave me a little hi fi . She got into the file and said she would fax. We waited for 30 minutes and he advised me to go relax and he would call me when the fax came thru. I went and got some coffee. About an hour later he called the fax had arrived. I went, filled out and he faxed back. The last lady said to give them 24 hours to get charges off.
I did not check today as I was mentally exhausted by the whole process I went through yesterday. Hubby came home and found me asleep. I told him I was mentally exhausted by the process.
They keep questioning me as I had the card in my hands and the tickets were charged in Turkey. I have never used the card on line, but only at locally owned businesses. Now I question those places in my mind. I love supporting locally owned business as I feel I know where my money is going to suppurt them and their families and not big corporations,
