FREEDOM

Sunday, December 12, 2010

I search for freedom from this prison I inflict upon myself. Freedom from the craziness of food and weight obsession.

Freedom from hating myself because of what I eat.

Freedom from holding back from my full potential because I don't like how I look and how I feel.

Freedom from this heavy fog that surrounds me. I'm breaking FREE!

I will give myself the respect I deserve - I will take care of my body the way I know that I should.

Tomorrow:

Awake at 4:30 am - Exercise
3 Meals a day

Breakfast - Shredded Wheat - FF Milk
Chia Tea - FF Cream

Lunch - Shrimp Salad

Dinner - Fish and Broccoli

Quit eating the crap that makes me feel like crap!

Love yourself for who you are - you are worth it!

When will I get this right?

Sunday, December 12, 2010

I look back at the few older blogs I've written and I see that I've not made much progress with my struggle with food, weight and body image. I still keep trying to get it right only to fail. I've struggled with this all my life and at 48 years of age you would think I could figure this out.

I waste so much time and energy on thinking about what I should eat, how I can lose weight and hating myself when I fail. Such a WASTE of time!!

I know what I need to do to lose weight and to get in shape - I just need to do it. I need to quit trying to be perfect - just start making better choices. Moving more, quit eating so much processed food and carbs. Quit wasting time - Start living.

I CAN DO THIS!! emoticon

I try to remember another SparkFriend's mantra - "Progress, not perfection". If I choose to exercise 10 minutes today that's better than choosing not to exercise at all. If I choose to eat half a carton of Ben and Jerry's that's an improvement over eating the whole carton. Every small step counts - they can add up to lasting change. Hang in there!

Making Changes To Last A Lifetime

Saturday, January 02, 2010

This is not a New Year's Resolution but a commitment to start becoming the person a truly want to be. I want to make a commitment to myself, so I will fell better physically and mentally.

1. Cut out processed food. Stay away from the white stuff. Eat clean healthy foods. I realize this will cause me to have to take more time to fix and prepare meals, but I must make the commitment because it will be worth it in the long run.

2. Start exercising again. Start with 30 minutes of exercise 4-5 times a week. Keep moving.

3. Quit watching TV during the week. Take that time for more productive activities.

4. Show more kindness to others.

5. Work on building my spiritual faith, pray and meditate daily.

6. Continue my education.

7. Get more organized at home.

8. Quit putting things off for another day, address them as they reveal themselves.

9. Run a 5k.

I desire to make these changes today. I know without a doubt that I can make these changes a reality, I just need to do it and quit being lazy and making excuses. This past year was a difficult one for me but I know that my attitude can change how I let these events effect me. I will think positive and work at keeping a smile on my face and in my heart.

Workout Schedule - Week of December 8th

Sunday, December 07, 2008

Morning Workouts - 5:30 a.m.

Monday: Firm Cardio Sculpt

Tuesday: C25K Program - Week 1, Day 1

Wednesday: Firm Cardio Sculpt

Thursday: C25K Program - Week 1, Day 2

Friday: Firm Cardio Sculpt

Saturday: C25K Program - Week 1, Day 3

Sunday: Rest

Need to take things slow and give myself time to get back to my previous top fitness level. I've taken a great deal of time off from a consistent exercise routine so I have to realize that I'm not going to be able to begin at the same level I was before.

Consistency is the key.

Take the first step - Just Do It! No more excuses! There is nothing to debate!

Wow Linda, I know right where you are at! I lost the consistency especially with lifting, and I expected to jump right back to it. It is really hard because when I do that I end up sore, and then skip the next day's workout!!! Great for you to have a plan, that is the best, and don't beat yourself up if you are slower, or don't burn as much as you did at first. I try to remind myself about how I started running, walking first and then gradually after about two months of that, I started to run...now it has paid off!!! You go girl, and keep it up, I am here for you, and I know exactly how you feel!

Why?

Thursday, May 08, 2008

Why do I continue to put poison, unhealthy processed foods, in my body?
Why do I continue to not exercise my body with consistent movement?
Why do I continue to eat beyond satisfaction?
Why do I continue to not take care of my body and then expect it to still function properly?

Why you ask? It is just insanity!

From this moment forward I will feed my body healthy nourishing foods; foods that make my body feel good and energetic.

From this moment forward I will move my body with some type of exercise that will get my heart rate up and strengthen my muscles.

From this moment forward I will write down what I eat and concentrate on making choices that will fuel my body, not foods that weigh me down.

From this moment forward I will forgive myself for not taking care of my body.

My body is a miraculous thing I need to show it the respect it deserves.
