Duh!

It finally occurred to me a couple of weeks ago that I had gained a lot of weight in a very short amount of time despite the fact that my eating habits were better than they had been. It has to be because I started taking a birth control pill in November to try to regulate my cycles, which are messed up totally as a result of my PCOS.

I've gone off the pill and I'm already noticing that my appetite has gone way, way down. I've lost about 5 pounds in the short time since I went off that pill.

I feel very positive about my decision.

I've been having worse than normal migraines the past few days. I always have a lot of them, but I've spent a lot of time in bed since about Saturday.

Consequently, I didn't get to do very much walking over the weekend.

I did, however, go for a walk and do my new Leslie Sansone 1 mile workout tonight when I got a little reprieve from my symptoms and pain.

The pain seems to be back now, but I'm still proud of myself for exercising.

I also had a delicious, healthy dinner that really hit the spot. I'm feeling good about myself.

Apple Binge

This is going to sound crazy, but I'm currently resisting the almost overwhelming urge to binge on granny smith apples.

I just ate the slices of one small, green granny smith apple and I'm fighting with all my might to keep myself from going to the kitchen to get a second one.

I don't think I'm hungry. I just want it.

    LOL that is kind of an odd thing to want to binge on, but I understand--I love granny smith apples! In the grand scheme of things, there are SO many worse things you could be craving.

It's good that you recognize that you aren't hungry though...that's a giant step in the right direction!

Awesome Support

The support I've already received in a week's time on Spark People is astounding. I initially signed up because I'd heard it was a good way to track your eating and fitness habits, which I desperately needed. I had no idea I would find this kind of support and kindness here, too. It is a wonderful feeling to know that other people are in this with you and cheering you on.

    I'm finding out the same thing. It makes me more excited to continue. I just need to get moving with the exercising instead of talking about it. I've been checking out the exercise section tonight and making some changes to my program. There are so many tools here for us to use.

Right after I posted my last blog entry I decided to go ahead and try to workout.

I did the 1 mile Leslie Sansone walking workout, and I feel pretty good. My head and neck still hurt, but no more than they did before my walk.

Now I'm going to do my strength training.
