What are you willing to sacrifice by not eating AT LEAST 1200 calories a day?

Saturday, June 30, 2012

How the body uses 1200 calories for basic needs:

Heart 12% (144 cal)

Kidney 12% (144 cal)

Liver 23% (276 cal)

Brain 23% (276 cal)

Skeletal Muscle 30% (360 cal)

Total: 1200

This is simply the basic needs of your organs and body parts. This does not include moving AT ALL. This is why they recommend never going under 1200 calories because then you are depriving your organs of the calories that are necessary for them to function properly.

New Exercise Program -- A PUPPY

Wednesday, May 23, 2012

This is our new puppy, MAX. He is a bullmatian. He is half bulldog and half dalmation. :) I hope he looks like his mom the dalmatian when he's older.

Not only do puppies rid you of ANY extra sleep you may be getting, but also with over a dozen trips outside a day and a walk around the house--he may be ridding me of unwanted pounds too.

We have had him since Saturday--I'm tired, but the kids are loving him...

Congratulations! He is absolutely adorable! Dogs are great for getting you up and moving, especially puppies. When my lab was a puppy I used to run around with him all day long.

Nothing Can Wreck this Feeling...

Friday, May 11, 2012

Today the birds are singing. The sun is shining. There's no appointments on the schedule so Evan and I get to spend the day at home..... AND I am OVER halfway to my 112# goal for the year.

This morning the scale showed me just a pound loss. Yep, that just a pound that we often so easily dismiss and a "itty bitty hardly nothing loss". BUT You know it's an important pound when you see the number, jump off the scale and then back on, see it again and start to cry. Whoever believes a pound is nothing hasn't sobbed in the bathroom lately. I will take my pound....

Yay - bye, bye to that 1 pound!! That's me this week, too. One pound down and I'm proud of that - I'll take it any day.

Great job being 1/2 way to your 112# goal for the year!! emoticon

The Perfect Lyrics....

Monday, May 07, 2012

I have had "don't tell me the sky is the limit, when there's footprints on the moon" as my motivational quote for months. Both for weight loss and raising an autistic son. Today I looked up the quote and found this song---with just about the most perfect lyrics...

"There's a world out there" Paul Brandt

chorus:
There's a world out there and I wanna be in it
I got a life and I'm gonna live it
Don't tell me the sky's the limit
There's footprints on the moon
I wanna do my walkin' down the road less traveled
Sew my dreams where they won't unravel
If you play it safe you won't get nowhere
I can't stay in here when there's a world out there

Reminder to Self--Stress is BULL~

Sunday, May 06, 2012

Stress is not an excuse for bad behavior. Bad behavior is a result of poor choices (yes, choices)--it has nothing to do w/ your 'stress'. Stress doesn't MAKE you shovel junk food into your body. Stress doesn't make you not exercise. This thing you call stress is self-created and probably wouldn't exist at all in your mind if you would eat right, exercise and talk to yourself the way you would talk to ANYONE else.

Self, pay attention! You are in charge. Don't pretend that 'stress' or the position of the earth for that matter is responsible for what you do. That's all yours....
