First Day of Boot Camp

Sunday, January 03, 2010

Well I made it through the first day. I was really wore out with the boot camp and the 30 minutes on my elliptical. I feel so much better for finishing though. I'm trying to get my neice to join me in this journey. She doesn't need to lose weight but she wants to tone it all up. So we will see how it goes. Everyone have a Spark filled day tomorrow.

hugs

What did I do?

Friday, January 01, 2010

As you can see my previous post was a year ago. If I would have just kept it going I wouldn't be writing this now. I seem to have let life get in the way of all the progress I had made. Now I am bigger than ever and back for another round. Let's see if I can do as well this time as I did the last time but the difference will be I have to keep the changes for life and not for just a little while.

Keep your head up and just get busy! Don't dwell on the past and mistakes you have made. Think about who you are going to be in the future because of the changes you are making right now. Best of luck to you!

Welcome back, my friend. I've missed you. It takes a lot of courage to admit a setback, so I admire your honesty. Unfortunately, I have fallen off track last year also and have gained back almost all of what I have lost since joining SP. Although I continue to exercise regularly, it just hasn't been enough to offset my resumed poor eating habit. It is extremely disappointing and frustrating. More importantly, I am back on medication to control my cholesterol, and I have just been diagnosed with prediabetes.

It's the beginning of a new year, so we have a clean slate. I am trying my best to regain my motivation to eat more sensibly, but it's not going to be easy. Nevertheless, with the support of our Spark friends, I know that you and I can get back on track.

Let's make this a year of improved health and progress, my friend.

It's fine to learn from the past, but don't let it get you down. Life tends to have that effect on people. I had a heart attack 5 years ago at the age of 30 from stress and fatigue. After that, I started smoking and my weight ballooned. I kinda went the wrong way there...It took me until this year to really start finding myself. I joined SP in September, but didn't do anything(didn't really find my drive) until this past Sunday. I woke up from an afternoon nap and felt tired and miserable. I'd felt that way for five years. I decided I was tired of being tired. Since Monday, I have exercised the way I wanted to and have cut back on my eating...but it is one day at a time. We can do this.

Reflections

Sunday, January 04, 2009

I sat back today and reflected on 2008, I can't believe all the changes my lifestyle has went through. This time last year I was at 159 pounds, didn't exercise, didn't drink water, ate out every night and was constantly tired. January 26th I signed up with SP and decided it was time to do something about my life and quit watching it pass me by. Slowly I began with 5 or 10 minutes a day of cardio and about 30 minutes strength training then the more I did the more I wanted to do. Before I knew what was going on I was exercising 2 to 3 hours a day. All the while watching everything I ate and drinking my 8 or more glasses of water per day. I can't describe to you all the confidence I gained in myself and the energy I had. If I hadn't done it I would have never believed it was possible. Not only have I gained those thing but a wonderful group of friends who constantly make me smile, a new business venture and all of my wonderful team members. Together we will all shine in 2009. Starting with the New You Bootcamp and continuing new ventures throughout the rest of the year. This has become my home and everyone here my family. I am grateful that my sister led me here, and to Linda V. for giving me a wonderful opportunity to lead a fabulous team. Because of them and SparkPeople my life has been improved beyond measure.
Everyone have a wonderful week and take the time to reflect on the past year and how you have or will change.

I'm so happy that you have stuck around even after meeting your goal. It would have been very easy to quit, but instead you stick around motivating and inspiring others!

10 Months And Still Going

Sunday, November 30, 2008

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It actually marked my 10th month with SP.
It was great having my girls and my niece here with us. For more than a few years it has just been DH and I. It was nice having others to cook for, help me, and enjoy the food. Now it's finished and the left overs are almost gone and we all return to a normal schedule tomorrow. I will keep these last four days in my heart. Although I did manage to gain 1.4 pounds in a week it was worth it.
I have put my priorities back where they belong and will begin my daily workouts again. In fact my daughter and I both started today, it was wonderful having someone want to workout with me. She is also starting to work really hard in getting her 8 glasses of water. She is not overweight at all but we talked about her eating healthier and toning herself up. I am very proud of the commitment she is trying to make at the young age of 20.
I was going to work on changing the contents of my SparkPage on my days off but the time got away from me. So I will have to make it a goal this week to get it done.
Everyone try to keep your Spark alive and work on Sparking someone else.
Have a wonderful week and keep Sparking.

The New Me

Sunday, November 23, 2008

The main title of my page has been "The Need For A New Me" This week I will change that title to "The New Me". I am no longer the person with no energy and no life. I feel more together than I ever have. I have the energy and stamina of someone much younger than me. Last week I decided to get my hair cut and have it colored and I can say I am very impressed with the results. I had wore the same style for about 20 years. I figured it was time for a wonderful change. I could have never pulled it off with the fuller face I had before. I don't know what exactly made me the person I was but I know SP and the wonderful people here help me change into the person I have become. I am healthier and happier, just as everyone deserves to be. May you all find the happiness you deserve in all that you do. I am very thankful that I found SP when I did.

Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
