Thank you every one for your comment on my last blog. Your comments are very much appreciated.
I had a wonderful day full of exercises. I ended up doing about 2 1/2 hours total. Even went down to the beach and sat in the water for a while. Water is still a bit cold though.
Another thing I have realized in the last couple of days is just how well I am eating but now having trouble getting enough calories in. LOL. I didn't realise how much emotional eating I was doing when I was feeling tired all the time. I was hungry pretty much hungry all the time, now I have to consciously eat more.

Doing really well in the protein again, I am on a low protein and low sodium diet. So I am really happy with what I am achieving.

I hope I have a loss this week but it doesn't matter as I know I have done everything possible this week. If I haven't lost I know I will soon.

Tomorrow's plan is not to do so much exercising LOL.

another good day.

I woke up feeling amazing again today so it really confirms what I said in yesterday's blog. You are never too old to learn about yourself. LOL. It is incredible how different I feel now to a few days ago. I will be making notes of this to ask my Nephrologist next time time I see him.

Kidney disease affects all people differently and there is really no set pattern to this disease mainly due to there being so many different types of CKD.

Even though I have had this for 27 years it is only since I had a partial nephrectomy 18 months ago (partial removal of a kidney) that my CKD has deteriorated. I actually went from Stage 3 to Stage 5 basically on the day of the operation. For those who don't know stage 5 is called "end stage renal failure'. I am fighting it as I have improved my function since that time but still am in the last stage but I am stable which is a good place to be.

With my life style changes I hope to keep stable and hold off dialysis for as long as possible.
I am doing everything that I can to prolong the life of my kidneys.

So that is why I am so happy with this feeling of wellness.

An operation of ANY kind throws things off, and you were especially vulnerable... and very fortunate to have all that you do in your life!

I'm LOVING that you have found and revealed to yourself the wonder that is you--because you are SO special!

Be well, dear friend!

Love you Wendy, be positive. Yes we are all different in this disease, watch your diet and try to get a little exercise in. At the moment i am limited to 15 minutes at a time on computer and 2 hours off, due to my eye surgery and this time i am not to bend or lift, so i am taking it easy. So to you take it easy.

Tuesday, October 25, 2011

Hi everyone, I have had the most perfect day today, I am feeling really well. First day I have had energy to burn for about 2 months. Yesterday was a shocker. I usually get out of bed feeling lethargic and with aches and pain.

I have low haemoglobin, this is one of issues I have due to chronic kidney disease. So I usually have an iron infusion about every 6 months and give myself a needle every fortnight. I start to feel this way about 6 weeks before the iron infusion and it that about another month before I start to feel normal again. It is now just over a month that I had my last iron infusion and I woke up feeling absolutely brilliant.

I have achieved a lot today, lots of housework, went for a walk, did other exercises. My son said do some pushups and me being smart did 10 modified ones. It surprised both of us.

So I am now looking forward to about the next 4 months of normality. It does bring back memories of writing here of how much I have achieved before.

To me in writing this it is now all making sense of how great I feel and feel like I can do anything, then how I can deteriorate and it is a effort to do exercise and to carry out my daily life.

I am still learning about this CKD and how it can affect me. I have learnt more by being able to blog and it has given me a chance of understanding what it is doing to me and my body.

So as I said a happy, healthy day at long last. A good frame of mind. LOL

I believe 99 percent of people with CKD are anemic. I know i am. but not like you. Just try not to over do it

Hi everyone, I did manage to weigh today took a few times but I did finally get a weight. I have put on about 5 lbs in about 3 months but now I need to get that off again. Not happy that I put that on but I am happy it wasn't more.

It is so easy to think that you are eating ok. I was writing it down but honestly you can cheat when it is on paper because all I was documenting was the calories. To be healthy you also need all the other nutritional information to be there, I believe this is equally important as the calories.

By tracking in the last 10 days has shown me that I need to clean up my eating again even though the calories are fine, it is everything else, nutrition wise.
This site does make you accountable to yourself.

The time without my computer I did pull my computer room apart and tidied it up. As I do family history as well as Sparks the room was a mess, paper everywhere, this has now been sorted out to where it should have been put in the first place ie my bookshelves. LOL. It is a pleasure to sit in here now. LOL. So that was one thing I achieved by not having a computer.

Actually, I am SO proud of you! I KNOW how hard you must have worked to keep the "damage" to a bare minimum like that, and that SP will make it easier to get the little bit taken care of quickly...

You have also inspired me--since I can only do this for short spurts, I'm going to find some one-handed ways to de clutter--WISH ME LUCK! LOL

It's wonderful that you de-cluttered your computer room. I need to do that to my whole house as hate to throw things away thinking someday I'll use it. Being your back on Track now I have no doubt you'll lose those 5 pounds pretty quickly. I hope you are enjoying your weekend. Take Care Sweetie!

Missed you too!! Isn't it amazing the things we can accomplish when the computer is down! I really have to keep on top of paper clutter.

Keep sparking. You are worth it.

To put on ONLY 5 pounds throughout the whole of winter is a great achievement in my eyes. I thought I'd done well with putting on 6.6 pounds as I usually put on about 10 over the course of the winter; then take it off before Christmas. But you did better than me with only 5 pounds.

Yes, it's very easy to cheat when doing just the calories. I still do it sometimes, yuk! As you say, nutrition is everything and it's always good to be accountable.

Glad your computer room is fine now. I wish I could say the same for my spare room. It's hard to get in there for the accumulated stuff.

yes my new scales are digital and because of my problems I have had in the past I have body movement. I have written about this before in another blog. Although my old digital ones worked fine so I don't know if these are more sensitive or not. I have just put my 4 kgs weights on it and they worked fine then I stood on them and could not get a reading.

Thursday calories 1421 plus 1 hour of exercise re exercise class
Friday 1286 calories no exercises.

Plan on doing exercises tomorrow.

I will try to weigh in the morning, I will not hold my breath though. LOL

I bought a new beaut digital scales and cost me $99 12 months ago. I finished up giving them to my son because I'm blowed if I could get them to work.

The ones I've got now are awesome. They are called Speedo Dial Bathroom Scales. Model 2600 with a 150 kg or 23 stone capacity. Go look at: http://www.propert.com.au/catalogue

I can't remember now, but the cost was under $40 I think.
