Busy few days as I have started sorting out things I no longer use. Decluttering and boy have a got some gear to get rid off. LOL. Started in the kitchen, then I need to get in my bedroom and get rid of some clothes that ARE TOO BIG for me. Can't remember when I had this problem before as it is usually the other way around. I really need to get this under control now in case I need to get cleaners in at some point.

I have my appointment for the hospital to have the fistula raised it is on the 27th May which was earlier than I thought it would be. But I am glad that I am having this done. Hopefully it will not be needed at this stage.

The warm weather has gone, which will make the driving easier. We have also had some rain. This feels like a miracle as we have now had about 30 or so mls (just over 1 inch) for the year. My vegie garden is loving the rain.

Great news love needing smaller clothes. De-cluttering isn't easy. I am a great hoarder myself and become attached to my possessions. Best wishes with your op. Hugs

Good on you for clearing out un-needed things.
Must be such a good feeling to know that you have
clothes that don't fit anymore. Glad you finally
got some rain. Your garden will certainly thrive now.
Have a great weekend Wendy. emoticon

I live with a family of collectors and dh is the worst of the bunch. Don't know anything about Austrailian tax systems. In the US if you donate a lot to charity sometimes you can take items to be donated off on your taxes as long as you keep track of what you donated and write down what you think they are worth. I personally use yard sale prices. Something to think about. So proud of you having to get rid of too big clothes. Keep one or 2 items for comparison later. I think you'd be surprised on how great you really are doing. So proud of you Wendy. Keep up the good work! emoticon

emoticon Wendy! This time though, when you gather the clothes that don't fit - you can stop & take a deep bow, instead of feeling shame! That's a major NSV!

The weather cooling off for you will make your work & drive much easier. Take care, Girl! emoticon

You are so right in what you say about every day being special! The daughter of a great friend of mine arrived unexpectedly from out of town the other day, just because she'd seen a beautiful silver bangle in a jeweller's and when she read it, decided it was meant for me. It says 'Dream as if you will live forever, but live knowing you won't'.

Such a beautiful gift, and such a wonderful thought from a lovely girl, who has been having a hard time herself. What that bangle says is right - we are all guilty of putting off doing 'special' things for a variety of reasons, saving things for a special occasion, but if we make time for those things now, we will have the joy of them with us forever.

Enjoy your Monday Wendy - and make it special!

Hugs, Chris.

All the best to you today and always, Wendy! I agree with Jazzy though -- one day per year is paltry! hehehe Although I have no children, my vote still stands.

You are right. Everyday is special and should be celebrated.

One Day a year for Mothers? Really? LOL - I am insulted. It should be at least one day a week.

Thank you every for all your support that you have given me. It has been wonderful and what I needed.

Trying to look after me as this morning I started taking vitamin tablets again for a few days. I cannot take them any longer than that because it will upset my next lot of blood tests. I am spending a lot of time with the grandchildren as they take my mind of off me.

It has cooled down finally and we had a few showers of rain, more tomorrow and more rain.

Busy day planned tomorrow as we celebrant Mother's Day in Australia, so going over my parent's for a B-B-Q lunch most of our family will be there, then my youngest son and his girlfriend is coming for dinner. So a good day planned but I do need a rest day sometime.

I did a bit of research last night on the Net and found out that you can do home dialysis when you are living by yourself and that more and more people are doing it this way. That is another load from my mind if I have to go on this. The dialysis centre is so depressing at this hospital. But also by doing this at home your live so much longer. Which is good news. I really do not want to go in the hospital setting if I can help it.

To all the Australian Mothers, have a wonderful Mother's Day for tomorrow and all other mother's have a wonderful day also.

cheers
Wendy

I hope you had your best Mother's Day yet Wendy.

That news re at-home dialysis is great news - all that driving time saved, plus being in the comfort of your own home, rather than having to spend time in such an unfamiliar, clinical atmosphere.

Don't forget to take that rest time - you need to make getting some rest each day a priority. I love it when I (very rarely) decide to take myself back to bed for some extra rest in the mornings. Such an indulgent feeling, but definitely one which pays off bigtime!

Hugs,
Chris.

Hi everyone, still very tired from the trip to Adelaide yesterday as it was quite a warm day and of course driving home was in direct sunlight, not good. Bring on the cool weather as it has been unseasonably warm here in the low 30's (high 80's). The high temperatures have broken a few records lately. It is nearly winter LOL. The air conditioner on the car does not work.

More details about my appointment with the surgeon, he checked the fistula that I had done last year in March. The vein looks great and they told me so. I know it is the weights and exercises I do. There is only one section the needs to be lifted and that is only about 2 inches, so two small cuts. The rest of it is in the right position.

It is higher that it was so that means I have lost some of the fat in my arms YAH.

Apparently this will be done soon in case I need to go on dialysis in a hurry.

Next appointment is 19 days time again in Adelaide for the Nephrologist and then 9 days after that for the Urologist (different hospital). So I hope the warm weather is gone by then.

Glad to read your blog, and definite cause for big smiles - having lost some of the fat from your arms is great news!
I know what you mean about driving into the sun - it makes the shortest journey seem endless, and I always have trouble fighting the urge to just close my eyes and sleep! I hope the future trips will be in good weather, not too hot, not too cold or wet, and no sun in your eyes to tire you out.
Hopefully the nephrologist and urologist appointments will only add to your positive attitude.
Hugs,
Chris.
