lots of things have been happening to lately, been spending time with the grandchildren and babysitting. Helped my niece do lots of cooking so she could freeze the meals. She works full time and does not get much help from hubby. So I was over her place helping her for about 7 hours. This was on Good Friday.
I have also being trying to look after me as I was unwell for a while with a really bad infection which turned into a abscess. I have learnt a very valuable lesson here as I need to look after me first before I can help anyone else.
I have also been doing a lot of thinking lately, not happy with my progress. Since I fractured my toe at the end of October last year and of course I had trouble with this healing, my exercising went down. I was still exercising but not at the intensity that I had been doing this.
I had lost my motivation as I could not go to my exercise class until about 1 month ago. But even this was hard because I could not wear shoes. Last week was the first time I could wear closed in shoes since the toe incident. Still have pain in the toe.
Even though I did manage to go to exercises once per week, my health would not let me go the twice I was before.
But even in the exercise class I do not huff and puff anymore. So not getting the amount of cardio I was doing before. The new exercise instructor was a lot harder than the previous one and did enjoy going as she pushed us. But now the original instructor is back.
So I have decided in the last couple of that I do need to increase my intensity at home. I have now started doing step ups using a step out the back, not a high one but that is okay. I am also doing a lot more strength exercises on the back veranda.
Looking around to see what else I can use.
Ended up getting my son to set up my DVD player and this morning I did my Australian Biggest Loser DVD for 61 minutes which has warmup, cardio, strength and stretching, Which I thoroughly enjoyed. I also was breathing harder doing this.
So I am now getting my motivation back and hope to see some improvements soon.
Food has been really good, still learning and playing around with food all the time, learning how to lower the calories. One thing I have learnt is not to stress about food.
I have had a couple of takeaway meals lately but I bought a kids meal at Hungry Jacks one day and then had fish and chips on Easter Sunday with my son and his girlfriend but I did not overeat.
This has been a really amazing journey and have learnt so much, I do not have to eat just because it is there. I can have my normal portions and be happy. Even my son's G/F commented on me using my small plate that day when they both had the big plates.
So in a nutshell, happy with progress on eating but need to lift the intensity of my exercising.

Today, I promise I will not quit.
