Happy Thanksgiving.

Update on my toe. As most of you know and to all of the members that I met since I did this, I fractured my little toe, I had this x rayed yesterday and it is still not healed and also the bone around the fracture has now gone soft, whatever that means. I go back to the doctors on Tuesday so I will have more of an understanding then (I hope).

So at present I need to sit down and work out what exercises I should be doing and keep off my foot as much as possible. I need this to heal.

Sorry it turned out to be a fracture and the other bone is compromised. Our feet are so important and they always get easily injured. My husband hurt his ankle a couple months ago and it is so much better now. Hang in there...wishing a speedy recovery for you. emoticon

Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog-meant a lot! emoticon

I'd cross my fingers and toes--and even my eyes! lol--for you if it would do any good--but I'm afraid all it would do is give me muscle spasms....

...so I'll put in a few words for you with the "Man Upstairs" instead...
Take care, sweet friend!

Wendy, yes do try to stay of you feet, or toe wont heal soon enough. I believe the soft bone has to do with your CKD. I know how i have felt lately with this foot of mine, and its not fun, hang in there.

15th Nov 2012

Thursday, November 15, 2012

Hi, I have been very busy organising some paperwork for Jason's next court hearing which is on the 28th Nov that happens to be my birthday.

It is my granddaughter, Tala's birthday tomorrow and she a grand age of 7 years. We are having a small birthday party for her in the afternoon with some friends from school.

We are having strange weather here it went from 25 d C (77 F) this morning and then dropped to 15 d C (59F) in the afternoon when it was raining. A few days ago it was about 37/8 C (nearly 100F). Hot again by Monday. No wonder there are so many different things going around (coughs, colds and other things).

My little toe is not so sore now so I hope it is getting better, I have been trying to keep of off it more to give it a chance to heal. Doctor's orders LOL.

    Hi Wendy,
Happy birthday to Tala - I am sure you will all have fun celebrating. Hope the paperwork for the court hearing comes together without too much trouble. Yes, the weather has been all over the place though not as extreme as up north. Glad to hear your toe is a bit better - take care of yourself.

Hugs, Nattaccia

Rubbing teatree oil into your sore toe is the best thing you can do for it...apart from keeping off it of course.

Happy birthday to Tala. emoticon I am sure you will all have plenty of birthday fun!

Yes, typical Spring weather here too. It really doesn't know what it wants to do. Wow, only a couple of weeks til Summer time. emoticon

home again

Friday, November 09, 2012

As the heading says I am back home again as from last night. The grandchildren and I went to Adelaide yesterday (I drove) and picked up Jason from the holiday he had. He missed the kids so much he actually tried to come back early but could not get a flight.

So I survived this 11 days of looking after them. LOL. Had many fun times, survived some temper tantrums. Had many nights of lack of sleep. Been doing between 8000 to 12000 steps every day.

I now deserve a couple of rest days. I only thing I plan to do is do a couple of seated fitness videos that are on here. That is going to be the most energetic that I will be. LOL. No more than 5000 steps each day, this I do promise me. Also I need to catch up on here.

But the most important thing is that I have lost 3kgs since this all started. I was so excited when I saw that figure this morning.

Was in bed by 8.30 last night and slept until 9am this morning. Must have needed it.

Have a great weekend everybody.

You must have been totally knackered to sleep for so long emoticon but no doubt, well deserved.

11 days straight is a long time to have total responsibility of the grandies. I honestly don't think I could do the same these days. You have done well, plus of course, it brings you closer to them now having spent so much time together.

A very looooong drive. The drive on it's own was quite an achievement. Another thing I just know I could never achieve. So, in my opinion Wendy, you ROCK!!!

4th Nov 2012

Saturday, November 03, 2012

hi everyone, sorry I have not been around as much as I have been looking after the grandchildren. Jason had a trip booked before all this happened, if he did not take it he would have lost all of his money.

It has been a really special time and I have enjoyed it all. Kids have been very good, had a couple of little episodes as you could all imagine after what they have been through.

Kids will be at school and kindy tomorrow so I will be home and hopefully catch up on everything.

Jason will be back home Friday.

Better go as I am on limited time to get back to the kids.

Have a great weekend

1st Nov 2012

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

wow the year is nearly over again, it will soon be my birthday and then Xmas. Were did the time go.

I have been so busy with the grandchildren, spending some time everyday with them. Has been so special. I am so glad I have the energy to do this now. Horray
to me.

I did a silly thing on Monday afternoon I stubbed my little toe on a garden bed and know that as soon as I did this I had broken the toe. Yes it is fractured.
I did comment straight away that I broke it and everyone lookeda t me as though I was joking. So now I have a very painful toe, taped together with the next toe. I have been told to keep of off it, yeah sure. Don't know how to anymore. I have still kept the steps up each day. I do plan each day not to do so many steps but it has not happened yet.

It is the first time ever that I have broken or fractured any bone in my body but my doctor has told me do not do this again. LOL.

Otherwise I am having the time of my life.

Hope everyone survived Hurricane Sandy.

*Sigh* in the same boat Wendy - I have broken both little toes at least twice. It hurts like heck and not a lot can be done for it.
Hope it is better for you soon.

Maybe you can do air steps where you do not put pressure on your foot. Cycling in the air and so forth. I have done this myself many years ago and it is so painful. Feel for you. Speedy recovery. Looks like you won't be dancing on the tables this year for your birthday. LOL!!! Hugs and a speedy recovery Wendy.

Ouch is right! Been there, and it is NOT fun... but mine was broken at the first joint, the baby toe up in the middle of your foot...like breaking your knuckle. You do need to be careful, y'know?

At least TRY to give that toe a rest, or you'll have trouble healing, and we don't want that, right? emoticon
