no excuses

I have been watching the paralympics on TV, so amazing and one thing I have notice that these athletes do not use excuses. They are doing an amazing job competing in their chosen fields.

There is no such word as can't, these athletes have proven that they can. On Australian TV, they are having highlights of their stories and many of these have made me cry but they are so positive about what they are doing.

So next time I get tired or think I can't do this, I am going to think about this and know I can do this. I still have my whole body, yes I know I have a few health problems but there is no such thing as I can't.

These are the people that are the heroes, they do not let their disabilities control their lives, they are living their lives. What a amazing group of people they are. So many inspirational people from many countries that are competing in these games.

Even the ones that are not winning are still getting cheered because they are competing. There has been so many memorable moments to these games. Well done to them all.

So next time we think we can't, know we can, it has been proven.

    Hi Wendy, I rarely watch TV so didn't even know they were on. Are they over now? Yes, you are so right they are the real heroes to me also. I know they inspire me with a no excuse attitude in spite of many obstacles. I enjoyed reading your blog.

feeling a lot better today, at least I have lost my headache and faceache. Slept most of the day away yesterday but it did help.
As soon as I got out of bed this morning I hopped on my exercise bike and rode this for 10 minutes. I thought I would do that now incase I got tired again this afternoon.
Hope to get back to the gym tomorrow with any luck.

I hope you continue to improve and can get rid of that flu! I am glad you are feeling a bit better and can manage some exercise.

Sorry if I only post replies to your blogs every now and again. It looks like the fibro has hit my stomach as well now...I seem to be battling with nausea and abdominal pain as well as assorted fibro pain, and I have very little energy so I am only getting to read a Spark blog very occasionally at the moment. I was supposed to go for a CT scan today but had to re-schedule as there is no way I could keep down the barium meal or get out of the house. Just trying to battle on...

thank you for all your get well wishes from yesterday's blog. Going back to bed now, it is only 11.15 on Monday morning but I do intend to get up this afternoon and do 10 minutes on my exercise bake.

There have been so many colds and flus going on around here and I finally caught it, came down with it yesterday afternoon. Silly me, I did my best not to catch it but it won in the end. It has knocked me around something shocking.

    No sense exercising when you're not well. I hope the cold doesn't linger and you get on top of it soon... then you can think about getting back to exercising.

    I have been resting so much and I am taking cold/flu tablets which has paracetamol in it. I would feel a lot better if I could get rid of this head and face ache. I will start having the lemon drink today. I am missing my exercises although I went down shopping yesterday so I got a fair few steps in. Had to get stuff for this cold but ended up going in 3 shops, did feel better after for a while.
I would love to get to the gym again tomorrow, I will see if I am any better first.
hugs to everyone but then you would probalby get my cold. So I had better not hug you all.

been to the gym twice this week, was very sore Tuesday night and yesterday but went again today for another 30 minute session. I think this is the way to go. At least it is not completely wearing me out this time, not like last attempt to do this. This 30 minute session does take me about 45 minute because I have a bit of rest and a drink between equipment. I am also being ever so careful not to wear myself out.

I am not sore tonight only tired but I have earned this. I actually got my heart rate up to over 130 on the treadmill, the bike was over 110.

So now I will see if I can start to lose some of this weight. I did weigh up there on Tuesday and they are going to weigh me every fortnight so I am going to keep my fingers crossed. hey had the scales that also show the fat (content or whatever it is) which was a bit of a shock. Yucky, need to improve this.

    I have one of those scales that measure body fat, water, etc... interesting, and like you said, just a bit scary! LOL

I'm still recovering from some mild heat stroke issues--NEVER thought it would take so LONG!--so I'm having trouble getting my routine up to speed... you're setting a GREAT example, my friend!

    Sounds like an excellent plan. I have always done well when I regularly went to the gym. Now that I live in the country I just don't make the drive into town and finally gave up my membership.
