I am so happy. I had an appointment with the Nephrologist (kidney doctor) today and had really good news. I am now stable with the renal function. 4 months ago I was told I would be going on dialysis before the of the year, now this has been put off. He was very happy with my blood tests and the fistula is fantastic. He actually thought that it might be good enough to go without the second operation but I did have a ultrasound scan on it but it is still too deep. So this will have to done at some point. I was told to keep doing what I am doing as it is obviously working (he said this twice).

My eGFR is now 14% which is higher than it has been for a while. This is about how much kidney function I have left.

What a relief this news has been. I have been under so much stress lately due to the family issues we are having that I did not expect this news.

I am doing a happy dance. What a week, first the anniversary lunch with my parents, then spoke to my oldest grandson on Wednesday, then this news today.
Lunch again on Sunday to celebrate my parent's anniversary with the rest of the family.

It has been so long since I spoke to my grandson and it was so lovely to hear his precious voice.

My parents have been married 60 years today. Happy anniversary to them. Going out for lunch today then having a lunch on Sunday for them. I also have a doctors appointment (local doctor) for the results of my last blood test and urine test.

So I am having a rest day today, no exercises whatsoever, be a few steps but no intentions of doing the amount I have been doing. Definately a rest day for me, really do need it as I am so sore.

NO cooking for me either. I must say I have a few really healthy meals made for now.

Made a half a dozen cakes yesterday but my son took them all. When I am stressed I have always cooked but tended to eat them. Now I cooked them and got rid of the temptation of eating them. I did have 1 piece of banana cake. So I am very happy with myself for only having this 1 piece.

Wow, 60 years together is quite an achievement! Congrats to your parents, Wendy and enjoy your time with them. emoticon

A rest day every now and again is mandatory, especially when they feel sore. Over-doing is probably almost as bad as under-doing. emoticon

One cake eaten. How's that for a mindset! emoticon

Gee, it has been a long 2 weeks since I last blogged. Nothing new on the grandchildren as yet. Haven't seen them for about over 10 weeks now. So, so long.

I think I am starting to fret but I have been keeping myself very busy and occupied. Lots of fitness, steps and healthy cooking, I am also burning lots of calories. LOL. In the last 2 weeks my steps have improved and I am now doing over 10,000 steps most days.

I have been going to bed aching and very tired but I know my fitness has improved.

I am going to have a good August. Then we will be into spring.

Good night my friends.

GO INTO SPRING? YOU MUST LIVE IN A DIFFERENT PART OF THE WORLD THAN I DO BECAUSE WE WILL OFFICIALLY START AUTUMN (OR FALL AS SOME CALL IT) IN SEPTEMBER. HERE THOUGH, IT WILL STILL BE QUITE HOT AND WE MAY NOT COOL DOWN UNTIL NOVEMBER. LAST YEAR, WE NEVER DID HAVE WINTER AND I REALLY MISSED IT.

Hi everyone, busy day yesterday and I achieved a lot. Over 12,500 steps and by the pedometer I burnt 986 calories. Some of these steps were achieved at the exercise class I went to. I do really enjoy this class and I can keep up with them now. The instructor commented yesterday that she is starting to push me now.

On Monday, as this is the smaller class we do a lot of exercises using the aerobic steps. Lots of squats, ball exercises, weights, resistance bands but lots of movement.

Last night I was thinking about the class and realized that I do breathe heavy there but do not puff and I used to feel like the chest and head was going to explode. Now after I stop within a very short space of time I can get my breathing under control.

I also worked out some meals yesterday where I can more equally split up the calories that I am eating, we will see how that goes.

Exercise time was 123 minutes.

easy day planned today, driving up to see my son and his girlfriend in a neighbouring town.

So my intentions today is to do no more than 5 to 6000 steps and no more than 60 minutes of exercises.

Had a really good day yesterday, first day of a fitness and health streak.

8 minutes of boxing with Jason. Gloves and pads. Plus lots of laughing.

3 minutes of throwing and catching 2 1kgs balls

10, 542 steps.

Total was 97 minutes. So happy with that. Burnt 761 calories this is because of my high weight. Pedometer recorded 786 calories

Food was really good although I am going to try to work out a better way of eating. I am on a low amount of protein but I want to see if I can spread this out more evenly throughout the day.

Exercise class today so I know I will burn a lot of calories today too.

Earlier this month I made a goal of walking 10,000 steps 2 x per week. I am now going to aim for 3 x per week.

So a good week started. emoticon
