perfect weekend

Monday, May 14, 2012

I had a perfect weekend with the grandchildren. Took them to have a look at a circus to show them the animals that was in town, unfortunately there are not many animals now. Just 3 camels, 3 Alpacas, 2 cows, geese and was suposed to be horses but could not find them. Then we went to the playground to play, bought their Mother a present so they could give it to her when they went home.

Then today my son came to see me and we ended up going out for lunch for Mother's Day. Very nice and he paid for this, we also went shopping, so this was also a nice day.

Hope everyone had a nice day for their Mother's Day.

Now it is back to putting me first again.

just took them there to show them the animals, didn't see the show as I could not afford it. Adults $25.00 and children was $21.00 bit dear for me. Then they would have wanted something. Still nice showing them and we had fun at the playground.

Sounds like a lovely family day - so precious! Circuses now are nothing like my childhood memories - no elephants?
Have a great week.

I am pleased you had a lovely day yesterday. I also had a wonderful day. It was my daughter's first Mothers Day and my first as a grandmother so it was a little extra special.

I hope you have a lovely week.

Happy Mother's Day.

Sunday, May 13, 2012

Hi everyone, Still not totally well although I am a lot better but I know as soon as I try to do anything I start to wheeze. So I am only do exercises in very small amounts at the moment. I have messed up my monthly goals but it could not be helped, as I need to look after me first. There is always next month and the one after LOL.

Had a lovely weekend as the grandchildren were here again. I had a pair of long pants on today (don't wear them very often because I think I am too fat) and asked if the kids liked my pants Brodie told me "I looked heaps nice" and even Tala liked them. Jason my son said you can see I have lost heaps of weight. So I am very happy. Might have to invest in some more pants now. Used to wear size 26 if I wore them but now I bought a size 22. Australian sizes.

Really glad you had a wonderful Mother's Day and it's great when your Grandies and son are noticing your weight loss. You're healthier now than you were before and I'm really happy for you. It sounds like you might have asthma? My oldest son never outgrew it and still uses a nebulizer to help his several times a day. I hope the wheezing has greatly improved.

Love,

Jill

Hi Wendy, I am glad you are on the mend, even if it is slowly.

Congratulations on being able to fit into a size 22 pant. I have gone down from a 26 to a 24 so maybe one day I will also get into a 22. You are doing so well. Keep up the good work.

Take care,

Glad you had a great day Wendy! Congratulations on the decreased pant size - such a thrill to be able to slip into a much smaller size and amazing how much different we look when we do. I'm sure seeing your Grandies would have been the best medicine at this time but do continue to look after yourself.

Not sure what I'm going to be able to do about some of my goals either. Think I might at least try to bring in the steps as there is still time.

Thanks so much for the flowers and the sentiments.

I now know what was wrong on the weekend, I ended up with the good old flu on Monday. Ended up going to the doctors today and I am now on medication. I did have an appointment for yesterday but he was sick and cancelled this.
I think the flu is due to the changable weather. Nothing much to report.

Sunday, day of rest

Sunday, May 06, 2012

yes I did have a day of rest today. Woke up this morning sore and acheing so I had to have some Paracetamol. Because of my kidneys, I do not take these very often but had to today. Beside being in hospital when I had the operation on my arm these are the first ones I had this year. So I am not going to stress over these.

Back to exercise class tomorrow. I will make up my rest day during the week.
Son came back today and got some more of his things. I am going to make his bedroom in to my exercise room.

Not enjoying the cold weather as I am eating more hot food, calories are okay but all my other nutrients are all over the place. Either the carbs, protein or sodium are much too high. The sodium and protein are no good for my kidneys. Need to get this back under control.

Wendy, I understand trying to balance those nutrients... I am still trying to balance protein, carbs, and fats. Keep on keeping on and you will get there.

You will LOVE having your exercise room where you have all of your equipment organized and stuff.

I love days of rest - but I cannot seem to get one these days. Too much going on and too much to do.

Keep up taking good care of YOU. Jean

I think the body needs a rest day once a week. If you exercise the other 6 days, a day of rest is earned and the body needs the break.

Hi Wendy, I had a good night's sleep which hasn't happened much recently but for some reason my arthritis is hurting like heck. Trying to think more positive like you. I also eat more and feel hungrier in cold weather so I understand how you feel. I am really glad to read you feel well rested as that is so important for all of us. You'll love having an exercise room and I'm sure your Grandies will also. Enjoy your day!

Love,

Jill

Oh man, I don't have kidney issues, but other issues and change . . . good or bad . . . sends things in a bit of flux for awhile till things normalize again. It will for you, in the meantime hang in there, and take as much control as you can of the amt. of salt and protein you consume. Hard? You betcha!

Change really DOES throw a monkey wrench into the works at times, but we can deal with that... no choice, really... LOL

I have been having a lot of the same issues, trying to sort through things I no longer need--and with my nutrients all over the place--not due to cold weather, but to changes in the OTHER direction! LOL

Sucks sometimes, but the others are right--you get through it and get things back in balance again, and everything will settle back into a newer version of whatever it is we call "normal"... *giggle*

I know emoticon

BE well, dear friend!...

So sorry you are having a bad time. Perhaps you should look into a more vegetarian based diet for the cold season. There are many meat free hot meal choices available. If you can cook from scratch, that probably will help your sodium problem as well as you would have control over added salt. You are such a brave lady. I admire how you approach life. Best wishes emoticon

Saturday 5th May

Saturday, May 05, 2012

busy day today. I did my exercises this morning, strength and cardio for 40 minutes. Then helped to shift my son as he is moving in with his girlfriend. So there was lots of walking, carrying boxes, packing his clothes and so on.
So with the strength today I met my goal of strength exercies 3 times this week.
so tired and sore.
Did some videos this week but I am happy with what I have achieved this week.

And you have every reason to be proud of your accomplishments this week! **I** am proud of you. You're an inspiration.

Hope you get a chance to take a breather this weekend, though. We need that too.

I remember back in the "bad old days" when I had no energy, felt horrible and just plain didn't want to do anything. Now I have so much energy that even when I'm a little tired, I just don't want to give up! It just feels too good to be able to do things.
