HI everyone, I have been keeping myself busy in the last few days to keep my mind of off what is happening to me.
I am eating very healthily and exercising.
I go to Adelaide on Thursday for my Urology appointment, but can't wait until I see the kidney specialist on the 9th Dec. Hopefully he can then give me some good news.
Had a very lovely day today, my brother, his wife and the 7 children came ove to my parent's house and we had a B-B-Q lunch, My 3 grandies were also there so had a very good day.
Ate within my calorie range, actually still a bit down, I am going to eat some yoghurt soon as I finish here.

I think you are doing the right thing by focusing on what you can immediately control and enjoying time with your loved ones. The medical issues will unfold in due time. At least that is what I am telling myself. I have my first appointment with a kidney specialist in Boston tomorrow afternoon. I had some testing done for something else in October, when they found a "mass" on my kidney. There were immediate discussions about a partial or full kidney removal. Then they did other tests - in all I've had an MRI, CAT and ultrasound. The latest opinion was I just have a genetically deformed kidney that is functioning fine. But, my local doctor wants me to see a specialist so he can review all my "pictures" to see if he comes up with a different/same opinion. So, I'm a little nervous, but staying positive. I hope things progress positively for you as well. Good luck!

Thank you for your support on my last blog. I am feeling a little bit down today but I think it was just the shock. What ever happened to me 6 or so weeks ago must have had some drastic effect on my kidneys. Still don't know what it was, I still do think it was some sort of infection but still nothing has shown up in the tests.

One good thing I weighed over my parents place this afternoon and I think I have lost weight. My weight was down even fully dressed and it was after breakie and lunch, So it will be interesting if I can weigh on my scales in the next couple of days as soon as I get out of bed and then we will see. Fingers crossed.

I have reset my page so I am hoping it has fixed the problem that some of you are having, reading my blogs.

Still eating properly and exercising, I won't give up the fight yet. There is still fight in the old dog yet LOL. I really do wished that I knew what I had to fight as it would make it so much easier.

Like I said, m'dear, we're not quitters--and who knows what will happen if you don't give it your best, right? Besides, if you DO have to move to the next level, it's just a different kind of fight, with different weapons, and we'll still be here for you!...

Love you!

    Hi Wendy Dear!!
I so feel for you my friend .
What ever it was must have done a little bit of damage but do you know that your kidney fuction can still improve?
Just stay well on track with your exercise and healthy eating love.
Helen my daughter, who also has these problems.... turned her kidney function around just by losing weight and eating well .
The doctors don't know how it could happen like that, but it did happen and I am convinced you can do it too .

She only has 1/4 of a kidney working but she is doing really well .
One thing I did discover was a definate no no for her was Coke and soft drink in any form whether it be diet or not, it really upset her kidney function ..
The doctors are still out on that ..but I am convinced .
she was born with this and told she would not see 21 years old she is now 46 and doing better than she ever has ..
Take Care of your self my lovely Lass .
I am here for you if you need me ..
Love and Hugs Susie

Oh my, I just got to read your blog from yesterday. So sorry to hear the news! My sister is dealing with kidney disease as well, and has really had to work sooooo hard to remain stable. I am glad you're feeling better today. I understand how difficult it is to fight that "unknown enemy". At least with a NAME you know what you're fighting!

I went through that with my thyroid issues for YEARS. Finally found a Dr. that listened to me, and THAT'S when the healing began.

Sending good vibes and prayers your way. Never stop fighting! It's hard, but in the end, what are the options!!

HUGS!

Hi, I have been to the doctors and it was not good news, my kidneys have deteriorated. I am not stable any more. I have an urology appointment next week then an appointment with my nephrologist in December so I will find out more information then.

I will keep trying and doing what i am doing now. I will not give up yet.

Had a really good exercise class today, worked really hard and lots of perspiration. LOL.

I do have another blood test on Friday, so I will find out what that one indicates.

I am still hoping for some improvement, I did it before. So here goes.

Saturday 19th Nov

Saturday, November 19, 2011

what a difference a week makes from my binge last Saturday night, I have been eating very sensibly and healthily. I am planning and cooking very healthy meals to freeze them in healthy portion sizes.

Exercises they had only one exercise class for the week and been doing what I can here because it has been very hot, got up to 41C about 105 or so F yesterday.

I do need to be very careful now because I have undone a lot ofl the good work that I had been doing re my kidneys. Had a couple lots of blood tests lately and they are not as good as they were. Need to see the doctor on Monday for the results of the blood test I had done last Tuesday. Not looking good because they rang me to make an appointment. Oh well, such is life.

Dad and Mum are on their way home. Be home Tuesday sometime.

The weather changed during the night now it is cold and we have had rain.

Have a great weekend

Tuesday 15th Nov

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Hi everybody,
I have made big changes to me, ya for me. What I was doing before, I am back weighing my food, not using my eye to judge, although there hasn't been that much difference. Some things were a little bit and others were down. But I am now eating very healthy and doing well with my calories and protein. All my nutrients were pretty good today.

Exercises, went for a walk today, well two actually, the first 30 minutes was walking on flat ground and the other time, my son and I went out bush to take the dog for a walk and we walked up and sown some sand hills for another 30 minutes. The second time I would have burnt more calories than the first because it was hard going, walking in the dirt.

Dad is out of hospital, he needs to see the doctor on Thursday, then they are leaving to come home. So they will be home probably next Tuesday.
