More packing to do tomorrow but we put a good dent in it today

Saturday, May 05, 2012

Got 7 hours of packing in today. Lots of lifting heavy boxes, moving etc, I basically walked over 3 miles, and got 3 big boxes of crap burned. It's so therapeutic to burn stuff and watch it just disappear. And sitting outside having a fire at night is one of the better things in life.
Tracy got 5 hours of packing her stuff done too. I am so proud of her for zipping right thru her stuff. It's starting to look good in the basement. It was a trip down memory lane for both of us.
I have 4 boxes for the Goodwill, 1 for the grandkids and 1 for Brendon. Plus a large bag of non-burnable garbage that Tom takes to work and throws in the dumpster.
Definitely counting it as exercise.
I ate really well today too, Lots of water, veggies and fruits. Carbs for breakfast, my bagel and some crackers and cheese for a snack. I'm eating a pkg of creamed spinach for supper.
Trying to get the freezers empty as much as possible before we move. Less than 2 weeks to go. 1 more week of work, 1 week of last minute stuff and then NY bound!

We just moved a month ago and I definitely considered all that packing towards my exercise. Still doing unpacking as well - lots this past weekend, I had over 9000 steps on my pedometer just from all the back and forth.

Isn't it so wonderful getting rid of stuff too! I wish we could burn here, but we can't - however, I love throwing or giving stuff away :-)

Great Job Kin. You are just "UNSTOPABLE" making the best of your time. I'm proud of you and your determination. And WOW, the "memory lane" is both a sad and happy time. A fresh new start in life is always good. I'm wishing you the best on your endeavors. Never give up on yourself and your happiness. Your friend forever.

Very productive; I love decluttering for the same reason.
When I think of all the stuff DH has hoarded in the loft and we don't go up there EVER- well apart from for our suitcases and the artifical Christmas tree I could have an amazing clear out. It's the only part of the house I haven't tackled as yet emoticon.

Good luck with your preparations for your move Kim and thanks for your encouragement on my cycling. I love peddling for all I'm worth and working up a sweat! emoticon

Happy Sunday, remember to get some down time in too babe emoticon

Packing is going slow

Saturday, April 28, 2012

Hello everyone Doing good. Haven't done much packing since the day I started. I have to work tomorrow (Saturday) but I'll get some more done on Sunday.
I have an appt with the lawyer tomorrow morning so Hopefully that will help me. I gave my work my 3 week's notice but I told them I would confirm the date this week.
So 2 more weeks of work. Most people have told Tracy and I that they will miss us. We have some very close friends there that I hate to leave. Many said they would keep in touch.
I am looking forward to moving to NY. Almost wish I didn't have to wait and work but its all for the best the way its working out.
I've been doing great on the eating. No binging, mostly healthy foods, exercising most days. I've lost 7 lbs since the Sunday Tom told me we were done. That will be 2 weeks on Sunday. Take care and I'll try to get back on Spark on Sunday.

Free and single, can't wait!

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

Good afternoon, It's been a rough couple of days but I'm back.
My latest news for those of you who don't do facebook and haven't already heard is that my marriage is finally totally over. No do-overs. I will be moving back to NY in as little as 1 month but possibly as long as 2 months from now. Looking at end of May depending on how soon I get all the loose ends wrapped up here. Tracy and our 2 cats are going too.
Married 25 years down the tubes. (Together for 27 years) He traded me in for a younger model. You know that old joke about the 50 year old trading his 50 year old wife in on (2) 25 year olds, That's pretty much what happened except only one of them was 25. The other woman is older. And we're both 52, not 50.
I'm so much better off without him. I know that. I'm excited for the future and my new life. Hopefully I won't have too much trouble finding a job and a nice place to live in the country. We are definitely getting a dog ASAP and Tracy wants a pug. I don't care but I do love Boston Terriers so we may end up getting 2. Mine can wait awhile though.
And of course we'll be joining the Y with Robin and we'll keep each other busy every day with that. Plus other exercise. Biking, kayaking, walking, dancing, etc.
Tracy is really excited too. We are both sad to leave our friends and our jobs here in PA. She may have a hard time finding a job she likes. I'm not going to be so picky because I know that anything will do to start with. It's what you end up with that counts.
Free and single. Can't wait!
Time to go to work. Talk to you all more tomorrow.

Kim, I'm so sorry it didn't work out, but I know, as you do, that you gave it every opportunity and he's the one who screwed it up. I'm glad you know that you're much better off getting the heck out of there and having a great life on your own!

Kim, I know you have been through a lot and I always remembered how hard it was for you to give up your dogs. So for that reason, I am happy for you and know how excited you are to get dogs again. Our animals sure do provide us lots of love!! Take care and I can't wait to hear how your new journey is going.

I've traveled that road too - and it was the best thing that happened to me. My ex never remarried, but I've been happily married to my second husband for 13 years. Just take it a day at a time and don't get overwhelmed by the big picture.

April goals

Sunday, April 01, 2012

I did do a happy dance and also got a massage. My shoulders and neck were so sore from QCing at work. It doesn't always bother me but the line I worked on Thursday and Friday, I have to hold the syringes up high and the repetition just forms knots in my muscles and burning after awhile. The massage felt so good. And they used hot rocks which I've never had done before. It was really nice.
Besides happy dancing, and some heavy lifting, feeding the birds, I did 50 squats, 55 bridges, and 60 lying leg lifts
I made a goal to do at least 20 minutes of cardio and 20 mins of abs/weights/DVD every day in April. I finished my old journal and started a new one today. Kind of cool that it starts on April 1st. I didn't work out as much as I wanted to today but I walked 2.5 miles yesterday.

Sound like a plan. Caught the tail end of water zumba last night when we went to the pool. So I'm going to try that on next Tuesday. It looks like they only offer it on Tuesday, so I'm glad that I don't work on that day.

I'm back

Tuesday, March 13, 2012

I'm back and I'm going to try to log in more often. It will be hard now that the weather is getting so nice. At least here in PA. We're supposed to have a bunch of 70+ days and I just put all of my plants outside. They have been in my basement for the winter. Some survived and some did not. They all need re-potting but for now I'm just going to let them soak up the sunshine and the rain. And the fresh air.
I have been crazy busy at work. Worked both Saturday and Sunday and may this weekend also. I'm not sure. Hopefully not Saturday but maybe Sunday since it is double time. Depends on how I feel.
I wish I had this week off or next week but I'm trying to save my vacation days for vacation. It's tough though when its so nice out.
I just got done doing a Tony Horton ab DVD and then some dancing and of course taking the plants out. That was a great hour long workout with everything.
I'm up to 166 lbs so I have to get more intense workouts in.
Hope everyone is doing great!
