Goal for March: Track my food!

Monday, March 01, 2010

I'm going to keep this very simple. My Central PA group leader challenged us to make a blog post about our goals for the month of March.

Exercise isn't a roadblock for me because of Zumba, so me being stuck at 140 (which I'm quite happy with, but I want to get to my ideal weight) HAS to be due to my eating.

So, for at least 3 days per week my goal is to track my food. In the past, I have found that tracking my food on here truly makes me see how MUCH I can put away. NOT cool.

So there it is.

I've lost 40 pounds! THANK YOU ZUMBA!!!

Sunday, December 13, 2009

I'm really still in a state of shock.

When I was a kid, I was always skinny. REALLY skinny. I ate whatever I wanted, and it never affected me. I never worked out, did sports, or really was much more than the normal, run around and play kid. That was probably it for awhile.

After quitting smoking and working a desk job, goodbye metabolism, hello weight. I was a solid size 7 until about age 24-25. I went from 130-140-150-160-170-and finally up to 180!

I was 165 when I got married in May 07.

I am now down to 140, lighter than my workout-nut mother, and my feel sexier than ever! my husband sure thinks so too. He has never seen me this light, I don't think, and if he did, it was briefly in the beginning.

THANK YOU ZUMBA!

I have lost 2 inches off of my waiste in about a month and a half. It may be from running but I like to think it is the Zumba. Love it! Its great that you teach it, so much fun. It makes me smile from the inside out!

Wow, that is amazing, Sandy!!! I have lost 55 and can honestly say the Zumba has helped me keep it off for more than a year. It is such a good feeling when you Zumba, it just makes you smile. How can anyone be in a bad mood when you Zumba? It just makes my day!! Where and when in the convention? Do you have to be an instructor to go? I would be interested......

Congrats again!!

Carol

4 months of teaching...

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Life is good. Zumba is the best! I now teach 2-3 classes per week, and recently had a week where I taught I think 7 classes in 5 days. It was nuts! But it was a great experience.

To anyone who is new to Zumba or in the process of becoming an instructor, just keep at it, you'll come out of your shell like you cannot imagine, and you'll shake those pounds and inches right off if you really work hard!

Zumba has filled the dancing void that was left when I decided to stop going out to the clubs. I always went because I had so much fun dancing. Now I get paid to fill the dance void, and it's a healthy, fun way to stay in shape. Who could ask for more?

ZUMBA LOVE TO ALL!!!

I have been taking Zumba for a few months now and love it. I'm getting certified on January 9th in Boston and am so excited but so nervous. I feel like I'll never get my own choreography down. I've only gone to the same trainer and she's awesome and I do have some of her songs down pat but afraid that I won't be able to get a grip on doing my own. Did you feel this way?

I am a real instructor now with my own class!

Thursday, May 07, 2009

When I initially went to talk to my now boss about becoming a Zumba instructor, I felt nervous because I was about 175 lbs. and felt I couldn't fit what appeared to be the "perfect body" mold they had going on.

Today, at 148.6 lbs., the day after my first own class, I just want to say I've learned that everything is a process, and although those ladies may never have been my size, MANY of our students at the gym are noticing my weight loss, since I have been in training and team teaching since January. It feels so good to have fun with all these ladies, and have weight loss success on the way!

Starting next week I'll be teaching 2x per week, and it only gets better from here!

I guess I'd better post a new picture of myself since I've lost 10 more lbs. since I last took one!
