Getting close to a month

I'm almost at the one month point -- and am finding this approach to tracking food and exercise very helpful. More than half way to my goal weight: it's slow but steady -- and feeling confident that I will get there.

    I am a slow learner so it took me three months and a half to start tracking the food.
The fitness was easier as soon as I started doing them I began tracking .The food just couldn't find how to do it.

    emoticon job!! It is the best feeling to accomplish weight loss goals. We always knew the answer as to how but this is the best method. You rock! Keep up the tracking and exercise and we will reach the finish line!!

    Tracking my food..and for me Fat....Sodium and Carbs has been very helpful for me...if not the Key to finally dropping some weight!! Of course finally getting my Behind in Gear,.....has helped also...lol....you are on the right Track!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Good for you, I too will be approaching my 1 month anniversary with SparkPeople. It has been a wonderful journey so far with awesome people like you. Keep up the good work, you will be crossing that finish line soon.

New Profile Image and Spark Page

It was fun today to work on finding a juicy watermelon profile image and watermelon wallpaper for my spark page, and then adding a few pictures. Many thanks for the encouragement to do this from SP member JOPAGH. And: I finally managed (with much help from my son) to down load the virtual weight loss figure from Prevention.com. This is a terrific motivational tool to remind me where I was in 2001. Every time I open my page I'll see the destination to which I was headed back and reinforce my determination to keep on tracking. In four weeks on SparkPeople I have halted my weight creep and reversed it by nine pounds, so I'm well on the way back to goal weight. I'm not expecting a smooth path (figuring out how much I can eat to maintain is going to be a whole new learning curve) but I will never permit that excess pudge to accumulate again!

My new watermellen pink is so me! emoticon

    Love your new page! My youngest daughter got a job at university this summer so didn't come home. I don't think I can figure out the wallpaper on my own. Yours looks great!

General uptick in mood

Tracking my nutrition and exercise plus the support from other Spark people is definitely having a positive effect on my mood. I'm a cheerful type anyhow: but this is a good place.

Took some measurements today -- lost inches (neck, hips, waist) indicate incremental improvement.

Made it to the gym this morning; ate healthily all day (apparently a little light on the fats . . . despite almonds AND cashews!) and hopeful that I'll soon see another dip on the scales. It's slow but it's steady so that's gotta be ok.

Lots of exercise today -- gym at 5:30 a.m., golf after work (nine holes), a beautiful evening and feeling good. On track wtih the eating and not too fussed about the scales. The weight will go down in its own good time: it has to!
