Down but not out

Tuesday, July 24, 2012

Well, the weekend was a total bust. I went to Miami and worked hard to make good choices, but did not do as well as I wanted to. Starting fresh, still determined. I need to kick start this weight loss, not having much to brag about at this point. emoticon

The weekend salt lick

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

Went to dinner, made healthy choices but the soup was so salty, I could feel my self swelling as we drove home. The next morning, I looked like the Michelin man, PUFFY!! Well, many trips to the potty must count as exercise, so I am back to baseline for weight loss. I wish more restaurants posted nutritional facts. It would be so helpful. On TV today there was the guy from "Eat this not that" comparing 2 meals from one restaurant. One had 1400 cal/per serving, the other 360. Wow! The higher cal one was full of veggies. If you don't know better, that would be the one you selected. Go figure. emoticon

Workin and staying on target.

Thursday, July 12, 2012

It is so difficult to achieve goals when you work 14 hours in a stressful job. One of the biggest challenges is drinking water, since we are prohibited from keeping drinks at our desk. By the time I get home my feet hurt, my brain is drained and the last thing I want to do is cook or exercise. It would be so easy to plop on the couch and grab a quick carryout meal on the way home.
BUT, I am committed and determined to make this work for me. I want more that a temporary weight loss (done the yo-yo bit) I want a life style change that will be permanent. SO... I broil a chicken breast, eat raw broccoli and take the dog for a long walk and tell myself, "YOU GO GIRL!" LOL emoticon

I thought about one of those hats that have the cans and tube for drinking, not a great look though!

Maybe work will let you wear a Camel Pack? emoticon

Sorry that your job is currently stressful. With your hours, do have additional days off during the week? If so, maybe you could use that time for batch cooking. Divide up the food into smaller portions for later in the week.

Good luck on your journey!
