The Simple Diet Finished

I tried the Simple Diet, but it was not for me. My husband was doing it for a few weeks. We have decided to go plant based. Good luck to you all on the simple Diet.

    Thank you all for your kind comments. I am jelous of my husband. He has lost 11 pounds in a week and a half. And his blood sugars are lower. Since I already ate more this way I have not lost as much, but my RA feels better.

Week Four of the Simple Diet

Well I made it thru another week. I have to admit that I did not follow the plan. I had shakes and entrees, but I also ate other foods, nuts and dried fruit. I needed to eat the prunes emoticon . I did get in about 60 minutes of exercise mon-fri.
Friday we went to the Oyster & Beer Fest. I ate lots of oysters they were raw and I had lots of beer. It was an overnight trip for us. We had the breakfast buffet in the hotel. Did some shopping on the way home to replenish the fruit and veggies and entrees. When I got home I made a big pot of collard greens. I used two large onions and two bulbs of garlic. I dice and add the garlic after the greens are done. That way we get all the benefits of the garlic. The greens last us a few days. I have them with my entree. Did not work out Saturday. Sunday had to work the coffee bar at church so from 7:30-10:15 on my feet walking back and forth making coffee. That was my workout. Took my morning shake with me to church. Not much appetite on Sunday so I only ate a bowl of the greens. Today I got up early had a shake, messed around on the computer for a long while (too long). I did my exercise, the 2 mile Super walk with body boost cable; I did the last 10 min of the 1st mile a second time to make it 45 minutes. Also did 20 minutes of Zumba. I then had a second shake with an apple. I have to take my mom to physical therapy. When I get back I will have a salad. I need to do laundry and some light house work....we'll see about that. Any way I plan to do better with my eating this week. I lost 1lb this last week, happy I did not gain. emoticon .

Week 3

Today starts my third week. I am bummed out today, I have not lost this week, I was up and down all week and hoped that today would be down. I went out this weekend and was in my favorite mexican restaurant. we only went there for drinks and I only had seltzer water and I did not eat one bite of the chips and salsa. I took an apple and orange with me to the movies. I worked out everyday and I did not lose. Today I did an hour of WATP. I will just keep it up. I know this friday I will be eating out. I will just keep to the plan the rest of the week.

Valentine's Day

Yesterday was Valentine’s Day, My wonderful husband took me out to dinner and to a concert “Tab Benoit” I had never heard of him before, but he was really good. I had a great time. For dinner I ordered the vegetarian black bean soup and blackened shrimp and scallops on a bed of mixed greens, dressing on the side, we had a bottle of red wine, and after dinner Irish coffee. At the concert more wine and a sparkling water, and I just couldn't help myself, I had the Turtle Lava Cake. Before we went out to dinner, I did 3 miles on the treadmill in 50 min, I had to jog a lot to do that. It usually takes me about 60 minutes to do 3 miles.
Today I got up did the 3mile Walk away the pounds with the boosted body cables, those cable really get the upper body and arms, then I did 15 min rockin body (dance dvd). I had to take my mom to physical therapy; usually I go to the store or sit and read for that hour. Today it was so nice outside that I went for a walk on the bike trail instead. I walked for about 40 minutes, got in about 2 miles. I believe I worked off the lava cake. emoticon

I will take a long bath and have sparkling water in a wine glass. Time to relax.
