good things yet to come

Sometimes it's very difficult to rise above, when you suffer from chronic depression. But when I take my RX as prescribed, I'm fine. What can be less complicated? Just remember to take it as directed, and I'm fine. Then I'm able to face the rest of life's challenges such as sticking to my weight loss goals each day, using the 85/15 rule; eat well 85% of the time, and then splurging a bit 15% of the time isn't a big deal. That's working for me.

If you suffer from depression and you've put weight on, and other things are being let go due to your attitude and that dark, nasty cloud that hovers over your head each waking moment--please go see your doctor. Find out what's going on. If he/she prescribes antidepressants, take them as directed. Then you're able to do the other things that improve your life, such as physical activity, healthy relationships, good nutrition, finding joy in the little things. Sometimes you need the medication to give you the ability to do the rest of those things. It's okay. Do you question a diabetic about his/her need to take insulin? Why question whether or not it's right to take antidepressants? Depression can be caused by a chemical imbalance in your brain that is corrected quite nicely with certain meds.

If you're always down, hear negative self-talk constantly, have a defeatist attitude, do not enjoy the things in your life that you should be enjoying, please get help. It can change your life. It TRULY can.
