Haven't blogged in a VERY LONG TIME! Been busy ....

Wednesday, August 06, 2014

I have been very busy all summer. I have done a half marathon, a full marathon, getting ready to do another full marathon. Have done some traveling, knocked things off my Bucket List .... however, I have not blogged and I have not tracked my food. So although I have been busy and doing a lot of things, I let the important things slip. And as a result, I have gained 10 pounds over the summer. A time when most people lose weight. It is high time to get back on track, change my workout regime and start tracking my food intake.

Tracking your food will help you get back on track. You can do it, you've done so much and come so far. emoticon

Laughing at myself

Wednesday, June 04, 2014

I am a walker (and try to run.) So today was Ride Your Bike to Work Day. Along with being a walker I am a confirmed procrastinator .... at 6:00 this morning my darling hubby was explaining to me how to shift gears on my bike. I keep telling myself (and others) that I need to learn, however I never take the time. I also knew about this ride weeks in advance, but never got my bike out and used it. Wow - how about training.
So, at 6:15am I set out on my bicycle to do the three mile trek to work. Had to walk it up the first hill - that's okay, I am a walker .... Gumby legs by the time I got to work, but I did make it. Arrived in once piece. Went to get off my bike, got my foot caught in a cable and went down on my hands and knees. Laughing at myself - no blood but a huge bruise on my knee. Thanking the fact that my trip home is all downhill.

Signed up for a Half Marathon this Weekend

Wednesday, May 21, 2014

Have signed up for the 2014 Trent/Waldron Glacier Half Marathon on Saturday 5/24. Have been doing "walks" that end up only being 3-4 miles and a few 6-7 mile hikes. Realize that I need longer walks and more training, so I figured I would bite the bullet and just do a Half Marathon. The enthusiasm of walking with other people make it more enjoyable and easier. Just wish I knew if some of my Anchorage Alaska SparkFriends were going to be there. Would be fun to team up and encourage each other.

Happiness is having a Spark Tracker

Friday, May 09, 2014

Saturday I went downtown with friends to see a musical. We had lunch first, then saw the show. Afterwards, instead of riding home with my friends, I walked. I thought it was going to be 8 - 10 miles, it was only 6 but I completed it in a really good time - 15 minute miles. The worst part was that somewhere, during my great workout, my tracker got lost.
As soon as I discovered my loss, I got on line and ordered a new one. It arrived today !! I am so happy.

Glad that you were able to replace your tracker!

I have the Fitbit Flex and would feel really sad too if it got lost.

I carry my phone with me when I walk. I have WALK Ap on it that tracks my route, steps and time. Depending on where I place my Tracker - it is usually pretty accurate. Have been placing my Tracker on my sock (which is where it was when I lost it.) thought I would be safe with it in my bra - then it didn't track accurately or on my pants pocket. Guess it just doesn't see motion that well.

I don't use my spark tracker as I find it totally inaccurate!
