Thoughts out to those in North Dakota

Friday, March 27, 2009

I can't help but cry when I see, hear, or read the news about N. Dakota and Minnesota too. 9 months ago I was in their shoes so I can't help but feel their pain, frustration, sadness etc. I wish I could help but I am still recovering from our flood disaster. Its difficult to see those pictures, I know before this happened to me I always found flood water so fascinating now it disgusts me because I know under those waters are peoples' lives everything they own, their memories, their treasures. It reminds me of the things that I was able to replace and the things that I will never get back. For those who are affected by these floods keep your heads up as you sort through the muddy muck and stench and whatever you do throw the fridge out without opening it, otherwise that smell will never leave your senses. My thoughts and prayers are with you, I wish I could offer more, but like you the water has taken it all. There is a light at the end of the tunnel though I should be in my house 10 months post flood.

You made me think and you brought a lump to my throat. You are doing so well and your wooden floor sounds lovely.

As you say, Our prayers and thoughts are with all those suffering.

Wood floor

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

The last two days have been spent putting in wood flooring and I am totally wiped out and sore from it I am so ready to be done working on this house so that I can just relax in it. I also think that I will be able to focus more on healthy eating and exercising more consistently (other than the walking I am doing at work.)

Taking the plunge

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Wish me luck I am going jogging tomorrow way ahead of schedule but I really want to go and I just got two new pairs of shoes. It is probably going to be really bad but I am going to attempt to make it 10 minutes straight and then jog and walk up to 30 minutes. EEK!!

    Ok, Good Luck! emoticon
Hey, I'm not an expert, but I've heard a good way to break into jogging after a break, or when just beginning, is to alternate walking with jogging to build up endurance. Of course, you are a better judge than me as to what you can do, just thought I'd throw that out there as an idea.
I like to do things in a way where I'll be successful, so I'll do it again. emoticon
Either way...Good Luck! I hope it goes even better than expected!

Good luck! Keep pushing forward. Imagine yourself melting and turning into a fit and sexy new you! I use that as mental motivation when doing something tough.

Overwhelmed and a little scared

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

I am getting so much closer to being back in the house I can't believe that things are finally coming together. The thing is it seems to be filling up more and more of my time and i have had to flake out on walking sessions and skip exercising. Not that working on the house isn't great exercise it is just not exactly what I am wanting to do. I know that I just have to be patient a couple more weeks and I have to keep it together the best that I can until the time that I return to the house. It is just the little things that have me so stressed out and tired and I seem to have more and more errands to run this week than any other week. I also don't know what scares me about getting back in the house maybe it is the fear that it will flood again and maybe it is just the money stuff I mean I should be doing quite well once I get back in seeing as I will be paying almost $600 less a month in rent and other bills. I just find myself really exhausted after the weekend and while I have been making my list of stuff to do.

I couldn't even begin to imagine what you are going through. But I do know that once you get in, and everything is in order and your life is back to normal. You will breathe a sigh of reliefe. You have so much to be proud of, and you are going to appreciate the house so much more than you realize.
And then, you can step up a notch on your walking and all you want to do.

Running

Monday, March 16, 2009

I had a goal of starting to run once I lost 30 pounds but now I think I may have to increase that to 50 I just don't think my joints will be able to take it yet I may do some light jogging but I noticed when I jogged from the car to my apartment the other night I was very out of whack because of my weight. I mean I know that I will have to wait and see but I think 30 pounds might have been a bit optimistic
