Test Run

Tomorrow I am going to do a test run to see if I have kept myself in good enough shape to do a half marathon in at least a reasonably decent time. While I feel I am in shape enough to complete one, I would feel a bit discourage if I couldn't come with in a minute or 2 of my PR. I gotta see where I am at with my running, either way I need to get focused on good quality runs again.

Today I start tracking toward my weight goal no more excuses why I am not at my weight goal moving forward. I will be tracking, probably won't make it online until Sunday though since I will be enjoying the wilderness so unless the campground has wi-fi you will hear from me on Sunday. Don't worry I will be active and I will be keeping in line with my new plan!

This is my plan to get to a more desirable Half Iron triathlon weight.
-Log all food in one form or another, I have access to spark on my phone, ipod, computer, and if all else fails pen and paper work.

-30-60 minutes of exercise per day. This should be easy I do this for the most part currently, but winter likes to make me lazy

-Clean eating- I mostly eat healthy but I need to kick some vices like sugar and salty snacks like chips (love chips and salsa)

-Limit alcohol to 1 drink, I do enjoy a drink with dinner and I'm okay with that.

-Fitness: Run 3x/wk, bike 3x/wk, ST 2x/wk(or more), Misc cardio 2x/wk (with ST), Swim 1x/wk (to maintain for tri, 2 if able too). I will be starting more triathlon specific workouts in January but this will keep a good base. 1000 Abs 4x/wk was doing every day but that gets a bit taxing.

Looking at hitting 180 by May 1st if I really buckle down it should be no problem.

2009 I had just began P90x and was eating healthy and working out like crazy, I was determined not to spend another birthday fat. 2010 while not at my goal weight I spent this birthday running a marathon (well 3 days after really). 2011 I am going hiking, camping, kayaking, and biking for my birthday. While I am still not at my goal weight or for that matter any where near it, I have been living much healthier overall. Next birthday I plan not to be saying that I am not anywhere near my goal weight, I should either hit it or be darn close there is no reason I shouldn't other than my own poor decision making throughout the year. I definitely have some really good habits, but I still have plenty of the bad ones. I guess I will start off another year right with a good long weekend of activity and carry it through until next birthday.
