Official 50 day challenge plan

Tuesday, August 02, 2011

Start by taking measurements and photos: soon to follow this blog.
Daily tasks

Nutrition: normally my nutrition is decent as far as what I eat, but its the how much and the balance that I need to keep better track of. Daily I will be doing a better job tracking calories, sodium, sugar, and the balance of carbs/fat/protein

Medications: this includes multivitamins etc, working on taking them at consistent times and not missing doses

Water: Since I pretty much only drink water this is not a problem however I need to ensure that I am getting enough for my workouts and to account for the heat.

Sleep: quality and quantity tracking, I work overnights so this is easier said than done.

Fitness:60 minutes a day of either fun/or hardcore workouts. Additionally at work I make a goal of 12000 steps or better it helps me keep awake and can add in some serious general fitness.

Blogging: As much as possible blog on spark. It helped my success with P90x when I knew I had to write down if I slacked or not.

Weights/Measurements: self explanatory

Tally Goals Met: for each day I will evaluate whether or not the goals were mostly met or way off.

The overall reward is that I will rock the triathlon in September and hopefully be buying new jeans for my birthday in October. I was tempted to do mini goals but I'm saving money so just seeing pounds and inches go away will be the reward.

50 day challenge

Monday, August 01, 2011

Tomorrow I start a 50 day challenge for my own benefit. It is a challenge to make myself just a bit better, eat just a bit healthier, get a few more minutes of exercise in each day, find just a tiny bit more consistency, log EVERYTHING, and hopefully see the results in the mirror, in the clothing size, and on the scale. I will post before pics and stats and then of course after stats in 50 days. I will blog progress, while I would like to say daily, I know that won't happen cause there are many days I am not at a computer (because I am outside getting fit in any fun way there is!). I am still ironing out things I will track and specifics but they will be finalized by midnight tonight (I am work what else have I to do emoticon).

Other interesting note I can still reach my spark minute goals but I have to be very very consisitent the rest of the year!

Awesome! You can COMPLETLEY do this. You are ALREADY so COMMITTED to your fitness and always striving for more. You are completely inspiring to me with how hard you work and your aspirations! I would say with how hard you already work nutrition is key to really see all that hard work pay off. Oh and if my nutrition wasn't so important to me I would never see any improvement in my body. Nutrition is 80% of the reason you look the way you do. I always try to remember that. I forgot about that this wkd while away, but I'm refocused for the week! Oh and thanks so much for your awesome comment and encouragement on my new updated pics. You truly do inspire me I HOPE YOU KNOW.!

Fun and Healthy weekend ahead

Thursday, July 28, 2011

I get off work Friday at 6 am to start my weekend, I will be knocking out my workout first thing in the morning a run and some ST. Then it is time to get ready to canoe/kayak and camp. An overnight river trip is planned 24 miles on the river total and probably a bike ride to retrieve the vehicle. It will be mostly healthy eats although a few beers might be consumed but mostly water.

What I do now...

Sunday, July 24, 2011

On Thursday the boyfriend and I went kayaking. We dropped off a bicycle at our take out point and we went and put in 14.7 miles away. We enjoyed a paddle 14 miles down the river, mostly paddling some floating, enjoyed a couple beers. Once we got to the take out point my sweetie got to enjoy some fishing while I rode the 14.7 miles back to get the truck. It is so cool that I saved us having to use 2 vehicles (note, we switch off who retrieves the vehicle), I got in a nice training ride, got to enjoy a beautiful rainbow, and of course also got the benefit of healthy fun of paddling the kayaks. The whole time I was riding I was thinking how different my life has been the past couple years. I'm active, I use alternative transportation (biking, walking, running) and I am also quite lucky to have a guy that encourages and supports me and occassionally tells me to get my butt out the door and run like I said I would. I am also starting to see myself in a better light in general, while I do weigh myself once a week, I don't get overly upset if the scale hasn't moved, because I know I am active and eating right, I look in the mirror, or see parts of my body and I think man my legs are getting really toned. Every once in awhile I slip into the negative but very rarely. I also think in terms of what I am going to do, what I am going to attempt to do, rather than what I can't do or what seems too hard. With this outlook those 50lbs that I want to see go bye-bye well they just don't stand a chance!!

In my quest to become a triathlete I have been watching videos on swimming, transitions, gear, bikes, and tonight videos on the Ironman. I have wanted to do one since I was in high school and tonight I got the bug again and now I am old enough and wise enough to train smartly for one, so while I'm not doing one this year, I WILL be doing one in 5 years minimum, that's my goal now by the time I am 35 I wanna be doing an Ironman!!!

AWESOME - and I totally know you can and will do it. I'm not quite ready to commit to an Ironman distance just yet - but 2 weeks from tomorrow is my first official outdoor Triathlon - Sprint distance, but I'm THRILLED and so excited.

I'll be watching and can't wait to hear more about your training!
