Nothing shows weight like film. Yikes looking at my Indy mini pics, time to rock some insanity or p90x again, in addition to running. The one good pic of me is not so good, the belly looks not so flattering!

Am I crazy enough...

to do it all over again, to train in the heat and humidity, to sacrifice hours on the weekends, to endure blisters, chafing, abused toenails. Has my sanity really gone south on me that I am crazy enough to train for another marathon, damn methinks it has because the marathon bug is really nagging at me from inside my head.

    I myself stick to half marathons. That is because I am only HALF crazy! (LOL).
Maybe you just need a challenge to keep you going? If it makes you focused and happy I say go for it!

Race Report: Indy Mini

Indianapolis puts on a great show. This really is the biggest half marathon in the country and I can see why it is entertaining! This is the 2nd year I ran it and I now have an official 13.1 PR, (I ran a race last year that was 12.36 miles shortened due to flooding, I'm guessing I would have PR'd there but hard to tell) So now I have a new PR of 2:59:39 I made my goal of finishing under 3 hours, I wasn't as trained this year as I would have liked to have been. And the sight of me sprinting through the finish line to beat the 3 hour mark must have been hilarious, but that just goes to show running is for the person doing the race and not for anyone else, although I did beat my sister ha ha ha!!! My boyfriend ran the race this year too, although speed racer was in the A corral, not P like me! He finished in 1:17:09 and 85th out of 35000 people, wow! That being said I think he was more proud of me than his own accomplishment, it's nice to know that he just enjoys the fact that I run and isn't concerned that I am fast emoticon.

This race definitely got me motivated about running again! Of course after a 26.2, it seemed a lot easier to make myself go 13.1 this year!

Today is a very special day

May 5th is a special day for my family, it's my Mom's 2nd birthday, the 2 year anniversary of her heart transplant, 2 years since she has gotten a new lease on life. I am very thankful and it does remind me of why I need to be healthy everyday.

Feeling Zen

I am undertrained for the IndyMini but I am feeling good about it in the last week and a half I have nailed two 8 mile runs. I ran the entire time, I actually went decently fast the first one the second one wasn't bad timewise a little slower although I have to blame the wind on that one. I have several 5 milers under my belt, which I have run the entire run. So compared to last years mini I am ahead of where I was then, I am disappointed that I most likely won't accomplish the time I want but I at least finally feel confident I will finish, confident that my hamstring has finally healed. As for racing this year I feel good, I'm doing significantly less races this year, but I really want to enjoy other aspects of life this year ie camping and canoe trips. Racing will be on a whim this year and not planned out I am sure to find races here and there which will help keep me in shape because I am going to continue to run 3-5 miles 4 times a week with occassional long runs so that I am in shape for any races up to a half but there is a lot less stress this year for racing. I am going to do another marathon sometime, won't be this year but I will be continuing to get in shape and get ready for the next one.

    hey you what is this negative thought that you wonīt reach the time you had hoped.with that attitude you wont.now go to the mirror,look direct into your eyes and say i will do this race and i will do it in the best time possible for me.i can and will do this.then go and do you run ,do your best and then we will see if you reached your hope time.in my opinion you will not only reach it but succeed it.it starts in the head remember.think like the athelete you are. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
