Sloppy 5 miler

Thursday, February 17, 2011

I enjoyed the weather today, slop and all. Started the day with a 5 miler and it felt great was surprised that I haven't totally lost my fitness, kept running the whole time, that is quite encouraging for the upcoming race season.

Mile a day, not sure which day lol!

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

Still going strong and running longer distances at times too. The low pressure attitude has really helped me get on track again and has boosted my motivation. The awesome weather lately might have something to do with that as well. I am getting pretty excited about my first half marathon of the year, this will be my second year doing this same race (IndyMini) and I am excited because it was a lot of fun last year and now that I am confident I can finish it will be a lot more fun!

Day 3 of mile a day

Thursday, February 10, 2011

So far this is being very successful, low pressure and it is getting me back in my routine. I recommend this kind of a plan for anyone that has strayed, do a baby step and you will start to get back on the right path!

Hey Kara... that's my plan too... I can't wait to get out there - about 2 more weeks before I can weight-bear... I'm already trying to decide how long my first walk should be - can't wait to get moving again... Hope all is well with you...Susan

The mile a day minimum

Thursday, February 10, 2011

I have been struggling through sinus infection and low motivation, so I came up with the "just a mile a day" plan. A mile either running or walking is all I have to do for 2 weeks at which point I hope that this gets my motivation back on track etc. I think I should have success because it is not terribly time consuming, not terribly strenuous etc. After that I am going to go to 2 miles per day minimum and adding a mile every 2 weeks. I think after the first 2 weeks I will most likely be motivated for more, I just need to force myself into some sort of low commitment routine right now. So far I am at 2 days in a row and it really paid off today when I did not want to get up and at it before work, I had 15 minutes before I had to start getting ready for work, I got my mile in with time to spare. emoticon

YIPEE!!!! YEA for small goals! Hope you are feeling better soon. I've been dealing with one of the longest running colds in history... my goal is just to do something every day. If I hit my THR, great! If not... who cares... I did!

Sidelined by sinus infection but on my way back

Monday, February 07, 2011

Like many I was stricken with a sinus infection, I have finally managed to survive it and will be getting on the right track today. I did ride my stationary bike 25 miles the other day in spite of my illness so hopefully I kept my fitness up somewhat, and thanks to antibiotics I don't really have an appetite, so my eating has been decent. Here's to a new week!
