First Speedwork session complete.

Completed my first speed session actually a tempo run for all the technical running lingo. It was on the pace I was supposed to be going but coming off the half it proved a push to keep the pace but I did. I am going to get fast before Chicago at least for me fast! Also finished my weight loss contest down another pound for a total of 6.5lbs lost throughout would have liked it to be more but I will take every pound I can get. Now if I can keep going in the direction I want to go running faster will be a lot easier. Running at 190 would be a lot less stressing to the body than running at 240!

    I always think that speedwork would be more enjoyable if it were not so, well, you know, FAST! lol emoticon WTG getting it done!

July Goals

1. lots of running (follow full marathon training plan to the letter)
2. strength training (p90x) get back on this schedule
3. Active recovery days (Insanity) keep the cardio level high!
4. Focus on food as fuel, meal plan according to workouts scheduled.

    What marathon training plan are you following? You got a nice plan and you are getting some serious training in with the addition of P90X and Insanity! GO AHEAD THEN!!!

Rest and Recovery Complete time to train for Chicago!

After taking 2 nice rest days, it is time to get training for Chicago. This one is gonna be a long one! No missing training days here, cause I am not going into a marathon undertrained and I am not gonna wimp out! Like my alarm clock is set to says when it goes of "time to get up and go for a run"

Sturgis Falls Half Marathon Complete

I did it along with some fellow turtles! I broke the 3hour mark which was totally my goal and got a finisher medal which totally makes me happy because I think anyone that does 13.1 or higher deserves a medal. My official time was 2:48 something, but the course was slightly flood shortened so I would have run about 2:58 so that is my half time for me! The next one I will for sure crush 2:48 anyway but I wanna keep it real! I was happy I got to meet a SP Turtle for the first time and ole LEFTCIRCLES did great! I have also found out that I have inspired a lot of people to get moving, running and working out in general.! I like being an inspiration I won't lie. So another half marathon down! One big marathon to go after a 8k on July 4th.
Major improvement did not take a walk break until the 7.5 mile mark, I can run 7.5 miles without stopping!

  Finisher medal? Is that awarded for finishing the marathon, or for finishing it within a certain time limit?
