A much better week so far

I am having a lot better week so far I have worked out, I am eating right. I even had a point where I wanted to overeat and I didn't allow it I noshed on veggies instead of what I was wanting (a second hamburger) I planned out my meals and have followed my meal plan. I ran today even though my schedule got thrown completely off and I had to run in the 2pm sun which gave me a nice tan quickly ( and before I get chewed out for not wearing sunscreen, I am allergic to sunscreen I have not found one out there yet that doesn't cause the opposite effect of what it is supposed to, blessed with a sun friendly skin tone though). Side note while we are on allergies I am allergic to some of the strangest things most bug repellents (so I wear vanilla), sunscreen, dairy (which is common, but sucks). Anyway like I said sidetracked. My big goal is to keep up the good habits this week and carry it on into the new month!

    Glad you had a good week! As for the sunscreen - is it sunscreen or the PABA you may be allergic to?

Don't you have a marathon this w/e too? If so, good luck...I may be offline for a couple of days b/c I'm going to a conference... but know I'm cheering for you whatever you do :)

    Does vanilla really work as a bug repellent? I'll have to try that! I'm lactose intolerant so I understand the dairy issue and it does SUCK!!!

Easy week finished with a half marathon

This week is a taper week, getting rested for the half marathon on the 27th I am as ready as I can be at this point so I will have to remind myself to take it easy and not stress, need to focus this week on hydration and proper nutrition and enjoy some nice easy short runs! Started today off pretty well got interrupted for my workout today so I had to modify the plan a little bit, no big deal though time on the stationary bike is good too. I am excited for my half marathon it is in my home town and there are a few turtles doing the race along with me! Can't wait!

Starting the week off right.

I got plenty of sleep last night, thanks to the party finally being done and a success, started yesterday with a 5k run and then partied it up. Now to make upr for yesterdays debauchery I am starting it right with some fresh fruit for breakfast and getting rehydrated! Running and strength training to follow my recovery!

Action Update

Friday, June 18, 2010

I have made my meal plan for 1 week and will assess what I have in the fridge and cupboards from there and plan out the 2nd week. I have been hydrating like crazy getting ready for the run after work and I have kept proper nutrition up for the night and filled out the food journal! Now the only thing left to do is mentally prepare for and complete my morning run. Mental preparation will be visualizing getting my running gear on while the dogs go outside and then eat their breakfast, I will then visualize myself stepping out the door and enjoying a nice run (at this point any distance will do, but would like at least 5miles). I am also going to mentally prepare by continuing to tell myself that while I may be tired after work I am not TOO TIRED this is always my excuse I'm too tired to do a run after work, so today I am full of life and ready for my run! Action is being taken and that is what is going to get me on track and out of the slump I have been in.

I am calling this action because it is time to get moving. The plan has been in place, I know what works I just have to get out of this motivational slump and get MOVING.
Tonight I will:
1. Meal plan for the next 2 weeks
2. Hydrate and focus on good nutrition for the morning run
3. Mentally prepare and meditate for the morning run
4. Journal everything and be honest!
