Productive morning, now waiting on the rain

Thursday, April 15, 2010

Had my work physical today, it is nice get a free physical every year for work. I followed that with a quick bite of banana and a vegan protein bar (actually pretty good by Nugo) then went with my friend Yvonne and my puppies on a 2.5 mile walk, we followed that up with a healthy brunch of fruit salad, shrimp with summer veggies, and sweet potato cakes. I also got bills paid gonna go on a run later distance will be dictated by the allergies but it is supposed to rain today hopefully that will knock the pollen down.

Allergies attempting to derail me!

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

My seasonal allergies had me laid out flat yesterday, booo! Today I did manage a short 2 mile jog but it did a nice little torture number on my lungs, can't wait for the pollen counts to go down! Until then it is Zyrtec, and doing the best I can by working out in the morning and if all else fails I may have to move indoors for my workouts.

I hear you. I have allergies too - they contribute to my headaches! Here's to feeling better soon. You are still getting it done! Go you!

The pollen count is horrible here too! Pretty bad when the news stations feel a need to text warnings to their text subscribers! LOL Maybe you'll get a rain to wash all that pollen out!!
hugs,
Terri

The Dehydration Zone

Friday, April 09, 2010

Think I have still been recovering from Sunday's oops forgot my water run. Part of the problem was I worked the past couple days in a position that is not my normal one and so I had less access to my water. Point being I was miserable yesterday think I may be a little closer to hydrated but yuck have I felt yucky! I have a run scheduled for this afternoon my goal is to do about 4 miles+. Its a 40-50 minute run. 8 miles scheduled on Saturday gonna plot out a different course today so I can have a change of scenery.

Finally I am a runner again

Wednesday, April 07, 2010

Stupid as this sounds even with doing my run/ walk and doing 7 miles that way I still wasn't feeling like a runner. But today I have reached my goal of running 2 continuous miles not the fastest 2 miles ever but I did it the full way no walk breaks!

7 miles I did it and lessons learned

Sunday, April 04, 2010

I made the 7 miles using my Galloway run/walk program, but I did learn a very valuable lesson take water on anything over 5 miles I figured I would be fine but about 4 miles in I had nothing to give so I struggled through the last 3 miles taking more walk breaks than I cared to still had a decent average time. It was windy so that dried me out more than normal overall good training though and good learning experience!

I need a water caddy!

Depending on the weather, 7miles is pushing it for me. I can drink over a litre on a 10K run.

COngrats on your 7 mile run!
