A couple weeks ago I took a break from my hectic workout schedule, I had been attempting to do P90X, Insanity, and train for the marathon all at the same time. It had left me feeling completely burned out. I still want to Incorporate all 3 but I have a lot better plan for doing so.
M,W, and F: I will do one video each day from Insanity and do the strength workouts from P90X (These are my cross training days in marathon training.) This will give me a good balance of pure strength and cardio on cross training days. I have a 4 week rotation with the phase 1 and 2 workouts for P90X followed by a week of core work from p90x (yoga, core). With Insanity I am going to go through the 60 days just with a day in between every workout, for example Monday will be fit test, Wednesday will be the plyo cc and I will continue to follow the workout calendar like that. I realized the other day that I liked the additional cardio that Insanity was giving me, this winter after running season slows down I will actually go through the program in 60 days.
T, TH, Sun: Running days these are when I will do my training runs and focus on nothing but running.
Sat: This will be a make up day or purely a rest day. I like to have it as a make up day option (although not for a missed run over 2 miles since Sunday is my long run day) because of well life we all have things that force us to miss workouts.
That being stated I am getting off the computer in order to organize my new workout schedule calendar!
