Insanity Day 11

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Cardio recovery day ah how nice still a good workout but a break from the insanity lol! Have P90x plyos later today and will hopefully get a run in but I am not too hopefull since I am working a dayshift and I got zero sleep last night can we say coffee, maybe the workouts will power me through. Gotta print off a marathon training plan.

Have you picked a marathon training program yet? Which one are you going with?

I'm on week two of a Hal Higdon program. I've used his program before and it worked well. This time I added some Ryan Hall "long long tempo run" workouts.

Insanity Day 10

Monday, February 22, 2010

Plyometric Cardio Circuit oh my goodness I tanked on the level 1 drills today I got to the point that I was just a puddle of sweat that could barely move it was GREAT, gonna do back and biceps here in a little bit decided it would be better not to double insanity plyos with p90x plyos although p90x plyos seem like nothing now! Went to track practice at the high school where I used to coach a girl from last years team died of unknown causes at this point so I knew the team needed a pick me up well coach hinz 50lbs lighter does sprint workouts and ab workouts I had a lot of fun it reminded me of why I want to be back in shape because it feels good to have that much energy.

You are awesome - way to inspire the team and have fun at the same time!

Okay, now I'm getting more curious about trying out Insanity...P90X Plyo is easy in comparison, you say? Sounds like a great challenge!

Insanity Day 9 BATTLE!

Sunday, February 21, 2010

A guy at work is doing a biggest loser challenge that starts in March one of the beefy guys challenged me and said he could lose a higher percentage (see previous blog). I know for one I will win this guy is not ready to lose it for him its about losing it for everyone else. His plan is to gorge himself this week (starting March 1st just the 2 of us) meanwhile I am sticking to what has been working for me and who knows maybe it will catch up and I'll lose 5lbs the first day. Point is he doesn't know how to change what he is currently doing and doesn't really seem to want to, he isn't going to add the kind of exercise that he needs to lose any weight. Truthfully I would like to see him win I think it may motivate him but he is driven by all the wrong things and I give it a week before he gives up basically I am trying to motivate him in a positive way but he doesn't seem to listen to the advice I give.
Anyway pure cardio for me today followed by chest shoulders triceps and ab ripper x like I said I'm not changing a thing and I am not the least bit worried.

I'm in a biggest loser challenge at work too! I've lost 18 lbs over the first five weeks. I think I'll win but I'm not overly concerned. The competition was just another way for me to stay motivated during this process. I completed day 9 of Insanity today and I'll take all of the motivation I can get!

Insanity Day 8 "Hey workout queen"

Saturday, February 20, 2010

So I titled this Hey workout out queen because the other night at our little work get together I got a compliment whether or not it was meant as one when one of the guys said this to me and introduced me to his runner wife and said hey you guys need to workout together. Now we are working on a biggest loser type challenge and guess who they came to for advice on how to manage it and resources...Me? I guess the whole lead by example thing is paying off I enjoy that I am a source of inspiration and knowledge and I totally am giving tons of word of mouth to sparkpeople...I'm like we can even start our own little team people can track this and that etc. It feels good to be asked about this stuff and not ignored or ridiculed. I even got one guy really fired up who needs to lose some and get himself healthy (not judging just wanna see him be successful) but I threw down the gauntlet with him and said I was gonna kick his @ss so now he is inspired to try to kick my @ss--not gonna happen, not even possible lol. I guess needless to say I am ready to take on the world and help others get fit plus it might be a good chance for me to get some beach body sales I know I am having success with it so I think any of these guys can!

Insanity Day 7 REST and sodium

Friday, February 19, 2010

I still have a p90x workout to do but I am just doing the core synergistics. I am enjoying drrinking tons of water right now. I was on kind of a sodium kick the last 2 days to be honest I may have been on the deficient side of it unfortunately that means my body has overcompensated for it and I craved everything sodium filled. I am going to have to cleanse a bit today with lots of water and then find a balance, I actually think all of the sweating I do on insanity left me a little imbalanced because I normally eat really low sodium, back on track today it is then no worries we all fall a little off track now and then its just whether we choose to let it defeat us or choose to have it make us better, I choose to let it make me better, its this attitude that has really improved my weight loss success in late 2009 and into 2010, I'm still an "all out" person but not an "all or nothing" I know a little fitness is better than none, I know a little off track is better than completely falling off because I blew one little thing or one day. I know that fitness is a complete journey and that you have to constantly work everyday but some things stay the same exercise and eat right consistently and you get rewarded, but there is no substitute for either and no magic pill and not one magic device. Sweat is rewarded and all the science in the world...well the body just laughs at that, it laughs because it messes with science oh calories in vs calories out it says that doesn't work its what you feed me and if you workout a lot its actually the more you feed me...The body says those numbers on the scales while scientific they don't mean Sh!t take a look at your photos, weight loss is an art you have to see it to appreciate its beauty...anyway enough of my little tangent.
