Insanity Day 2

Monday, February 15, 2010

Did plyometric cardio circuit today it was intense to say the very least I was a complete noodle by the end of it. I am so ready to go back for more however. Working on finishing my 2nd round of p90x as well did Chest Shoulders and Triceps and Ab ripper following Insanity and finished with 30 minutes of jogging. Whew after I finish p90x and insanity I will be focusing on the half marathon training and supplementing that with these workouts but I am enjoying going a little overboard right now.

Jillian Michaels on QVC

Sunday, February 14, 2010

Just some background noise while I'm playing on the computer Jillian is on selling her Wii trainer. She talked to 2 callers who had Diabetes or a family member with diabetes and she makes the greatest point about the cost of eating right and the cost of the wii trainer...compare that to the cost of having these kinds of health problems. So what does it really cost me NOT to buy Insanity, p90x, healthy food. Perhaps I should call my mom and have her add up the hospital bills, the medications, the stress on her body and mind, ask my family about the stress on their body and mind, her not taking care of herself when she was younger has been a far bigger expense than a few hundred pairs of walking shoes during her life, buying a gym membership or workout dvd. Just something that Jillian said that sometimes we have to remind ourselves, we know it we just like to deny it...I won't get it, it won't happen to me. So if you are worrying about the price of buying those chicken breasts or contemplating buying workout dvds but worried about the price...what could be more worth it than your health. And guys instead of chocolates we want workout dvds, yoga mats, free weights, we won't be offended especially if you workout with us!

We are investing in prevention. Our society doesn't value prevention, only dealing in the moment with disaster.

I totally agree with your thinking! When I want to reward myself now, I get a new workout t-shirt or DVD. And I don't begrudge myself good running shoes because I KNOW the cost of physical therapy, mentally, physically, and financially!

Keep it up, you're going in the right direction!

Day 1 Insanity and Shakeology

Saturday, February 13, 2010

Insanity fit test I know this a couple months ago I don't think I would have even been able to do the fit test I had decent results can't wait to see the improvements. Started the Shakeology the whey in it doesn't seem to have severe effects on my dairy allergy so it seems I will be able to tolerate it in moderation which is good because it does taste really awesome so if you have yet to try the product yum! I think it will be money well spent and I do feel full from it, not sure if it really lowers cholesterol or anything like that says it does but as far as taste and nutrition it seems really solid Can't wait to really get rolling on the insanity. Still doing p90x today is my rest day on that, so tomorrow will be my first triple, half marathon running, Insanity and p90x. I think I truly have insanity but I feel so much healthier.

It's in the smile!

Friday, February 12, 2010

I have been a lot happier since I am reaching my goals and finding new ways to keep myself on track and getting healthy. One thing I have noticed is that I am getting that swagger back that used to really define me. I am flirty and funny and a little full of myself (in the good way). It is nice to see the change that is happening to me, not just the physical changes those are really nice, but the mental changes I am really here to take on the world and I really do dare anyone to get in my way. I love telling people about my workouts and my successes and it is impossible to fail when I feel so good. I realize I haven't been sick since early October, when I was sick all the time before, I don't have year round "seasonal" allergies thanks to finding out I am allergic to dairy! I feel good about myself I really do, Thanks to everyone that stuck it out when I was feeling down.

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and
expecting different results. " Benjamin Franklin

I use this quote not as a sign of my failures but my failure to follow the formula to my past successes (and it goes with the whole embarking on the journey of the Insanity program). P90x and Insanity are solid hardwork fitness with which I have had great success doing the same type of exercise in the past, so why did I look for something easier. When I did the same thing over and over I got the results I wanted (ie good nutrition and sweat), but then I thought I would do something different and for many years that different didn't work and now that I have gotten back to tried and true fitness programs I'm getting in shape again... so the insanity is sometimes stick with what has worked change can be good but if it is too different you may have to go back to the original. Just a new spin on an old quote for all of you, and maybe some insight on where to look to get yourself back on the right track! And maybe just maybe the people who make fitness work for them have to be a little bit insane perhaps obsessive and routine.
