p90x Rd 2 Day 7

Saturday, January 09, 2010

Rest and recovery day, but lucky me I have Army drill which means we will take a PT test so it won't be a real rest day for me. I am so happy I am almost done it cuts into my rest time, plus I am losing money going, although not as much as usual since my military leave reset in January. I'm using it all on my last 2 drills. Planning on doing some yoga this evening after I am done so that I can get a nice stretch after the test.

P90X Rd 2 Day 6

Friday, January 08, 2010

I'm a little behind on blogging but with the yucky weather I have been quite tired so I have spent the majority of my days off sleeping this week guess I've needed it. Been enjoying cooking healthy meals and continuing my fitness program I really love the p90x workouts I am excited to start doing an insanity hybrid at some point, I am really noticing the need to kick the cardio up!

P90X Rd 2 Day 3

Tuesday, January 05, 2010

Shoulders, Arms and Ab Ripper X. Ah these workouts have become fast friends to me. I got really good sleep today so the workout went a lot better than yesterday think I just needed sleep rest more than anything. I was pretty happy today talked to a guy friend who just started P90x (and yes I inspired this) he said plyos kicked his butt and he couldn't make it through it and could only do like 15 seconds of each exercise so it was nice to hear how everyone struggles too. I think back to the first round and realize how hard the first time for me was but like I said they really are old friends now. I compare it to basic training for the Army when I first got there everything kicked my butt, in the end it was like "yeah drill sgt smoke us who cares." People look at me like I am crazy when I say I would go through basic all over but really with the knowledge I have now piece of cake, same with p90x I know how to get through it

P90X round2 Day 2 why oh why

Monday, January 04, 2010

Today was one of those "why am I doing this to my body again" kinda days. I suffered through plyometrics today, I was totally lacking energy. I made it, it wasn't pretty but it made me wonder if I took too little time off or perhaps too much I know that I still worked out for my whole week but definetly not that intense so it seemed like my body had forgotten how to work that hard. Its like Tony says do your best and forget the rest and today that was my best.

You are a workout machine, you cant do that all the time, so once in awhile, this is expected. Hang in there. You did your best, you always do... so take care of you! Have a great Tuesday.

Do what you can, your body will adapt! I give you credit, several months ago I tried plyo and I couldn't even get through it.... I hated it!

You can do this, you know it, and I know it. emoticon

P90X Round 2 day 1

Sunday, January 03, 2010

At it again only this time I am looking for some major gains by phase 2. I am also doing a lot more cardio this time around since I have so much more energy than I did the first time. I have taken to doing some time on the bike and then about a half hour of jogging laps in my house, this is mostly so I can be ready when it is time to get outside and jog, I want my body to be used to the motion of jogging. I am increasing my bike time on the days that I am not jogging, but my goal is to do about an hour a day additional cardio. Had a little weight plateau the last couple days but I actually added some calories in and today I lost a pound woo hoo! Another thing I have added in is doing some ab work before bed each day, I have one of those ab lounge chairs and I thought why not dust that off and get just a little more fitness each day and see if I can't flatten my tummy out some more. Looking forward to this whole second round I think it will be very successful for me.

I started my round 2 today too... just finished actually! Cardio is definitely a great idea. One thing I'd highly recommend is interval training. At any level, interval training will get results faster than just your standard cardio.

Continue pushing play... and of course, don't smash your face!

Excellent! Looking forward to following your progress. Congratulations on giving that plateau a whack on the nose before it had a chance to take hold!
