Did an hour on the bike then did plyometrics for workout today. Cooked a really yummy meal tonight salad with spray dressing, salmon with spicy orange pomegrante sauce, and dessert angel food cake with soy yogurt and blue berry sauce. Total calorie intake for the whole thing 650 can't beat that! Healthy food can be way yummy.

One thing that I know is that for me to lose weight and maintain I'm going to have to be boring, I am pretty sure I actually don't have metabolism. While I am finally losing weight it is thanks to the medication the doctor gave me that also has a stimulant, a lot of exercise including a lot of additional cardio on top of the p90x, it also requires me to be super strict on my diet and eat only the foods that seem to be working. While it is very boring it is working the numbers on all fronts are going in the right direction. Its not that I feel I am not living, I just know my friends are going to view me as boring and obsessed. They don't realize that my body is just one that requires hard work and strict rules to reach my goals and stay there. Most of my friends are naturally skinny and don't have to watch what they eat they don't have to exercise daily, they can drink a gallon of beer top it off with pizza and not have it cause them to gain 5 lbs overnight, for some reason my body does this and I have to go back to working like crazy for about 2 weeks to undo one night. I know they will just have to get over it because I am losing this weight I am going to reach my goal and I am not coming back to this point ever again, if that makes me boring so what.
Workouts are still going really well can't believe this is my second to last week I am totally motivated to finish, I had lost some of the motivation around week 9 and 10 but I just kept pushing play and now I am here completely stoked to finish and take some after pictures. I am stoked to start round 2 because I know I will start to really see the results I want in round 2 now that I am actually back in shape and not just trying to get there. I'm also using the exercise bike for additonal cardio since its too icky to be outside walking.
Nutrition has been good too I just enjoyed an egg white omlete with mushrooms, onions and a little of the vegan cheese I have been using. I also used a lot of cayenne and black pepper on it anything to help the metabolism. Made up another batch of chicken breast for the week I'm also going to do some turkey burgers up later on, gotta go to the store tomorrow and get some more stuff for salads.
Overall things are going well I just gotta stick to my committment to this regimented life, once I reach my goal I may go back to an occasional indulgence but until then I'm all work and no play. Please don't criticize me for this or tell me I need a break because over the last year I have learned my body needs me to be strict or it is all too willing to go the other direction on me in no time.

Started the week off with a rest day. I'm a little worn out from work so I just did the bike for an hour and will resume the p90x tomorrow, will probably double plyometrics and chest shoulder tri workout. I did it this way because I didn't feel I could put a p90x worthy effort in today so I opted for the bike while i watched some football and got myself woke up for work. I know this is truly a rest day I should call it an active recovery day instead. I don't like to take too many true days off I need to do a little something to feel good about myself for the day.
I have been doing great with my diet sticking to egg whites, chicken breasts, salad with either no dressing or the spray dressing, lots of veggies, nuts, fruit, fish, and ground turkey. I've been avoiding the dairy, and while not intentional it seems I have been staying away from wraps and pastas perhaps because I like most of these with some form of dairy lol. Sticking to water only and an occasional glass of soy milk.

Throughout blogging about p90x I find that I have gotten a lot of comments about that's too hard or how are you able to do it etc. I thought I would answer that so that people realize it is possible. First thing I am using p90x to get back into shape, I passed the initial fitness test for the program, but I realize that I was out of shape and not an obvious candidate for the program. That being said when I started the program I followed Tony's advice "do your best and forget the rest" I am still doing the band modification for the pull ups I am too heavy for pull ups at this point but I am working up to it for successive rounds. I also modify where I need to in various videos plyometrics and yoga. Plyometrics I have some old injuries that require me to be a little more gentle on some of the moves. Yoga I had never done before and I still have a hard time getting into a lot of the poses but I do them to the best of my ability, I also use the yoga blocks they do help a lot. When it comes to the strength training I started with 5s for the arm exercises I now use 25s that is just being patient and not letting my ego get the best of me so that I ended up with an injury. When I did push ups I did as many as I could regular and then would go to my knees which at first was a lot on the knees and very few regular. I now do them all regular. I have a bad shoulder so I will knock out some regular push ups during the one arm stuff if it is bothering me that day. I'm still getting benefit.
I guess the most important advice I can give people if they want to do p90x is work within your ability, modify, and if your like me where you have a long way to go in the weightloss get in shape category don't expect to come out ripped like the people on the commercial, you will see a lot of changes to your body but for me I know it is going to take a few rounds for me to get the ripped lean body I want. I have found I work harder each week as I get stronger so I keep getting more benefit out of the workouts, but I have already planned 4 rounds before I expect to be in the shape I want to be in. The biggest thing is don't give up, keep pushing play, it wasn't meant to be an easy program you just have to give yourself a gut check everyday and say can I do one more rep one more pull up, some days I don't have that answer but I give it my best and a majority of the time I 've gotten that one more rep, or made it through the workout even though I increased my weight I'm lifting. Don't fear the workouts, the sweat, and occasionally a little bit of pain its worth it, while I'm not where I want to be yet I feel the best I've felt in years

Finished the week with the Yoga X I still struggle through this it is my weak area. I have decided I will know when I am done doing rounds of p90x when I have mastered the yoga disc. I do love it because I feel relaxed and well stretched out after it. The snowstorm interferred with my workout schedule this week but I still managed to get my goal minutes in plus some. During the week before I start round 2 of P90X I plan to continue with cardio some push ups and situps as well as do the yoga and Xstretch videos and possibly some core synergistics. My big worry is that even though it is only a week between rounds that I will backstep too much if I don't continue some good hard workouts I was hoping to start some jogging during this week but I have a goal weight in mind that I need to be at to be able to jog and not beat my body up too much. Well time to finish this up and get ready for work seeing as I have finished my delicious piece of salmon I cooked.
