First day of August.

Wednesday, August 01, 2007

I love August it reminds me of when I was a kid and would get super excited for school to start. There was always the lament as summer was winding down but I loved nothing more than going to school, watching the leaves change into beautiful Autumn reds and yellows. I think this time of year can be really motivating.

Conquering my thyroid

Sunday, July 29, 2007

I have been trying anything to solve the issue of my thyroid. A source of much frustration. About 4 years ago I began to feel tired all the time and seemed to gain weight no matter what I did. Jump forward to April 2007 I have at this point gained 120-130lbs when a work physical revealed my thyroid was wack. I have been frustrated and down in the dumps as they work with my meds. Choking on a huge lump in my throat that won't go away is pi55ing me off. Then I discovered The Thyroid Diet well with a lot of reading studying and failed attempts I am finding my way to the end of the tunnel and walking into the light. It is not fool proof but I am learning about it and finding what I can do to make myself better. The weight is coming off slowly which is frustrating but I am also finding that my focus on treating my thyroid right is improving my overall eating habits the amount of sodium I am taking in is finally in control. I have been using b vitamins for only a couple days but they are helping my energy level and on suggestion of the book I have added CLA so we'll see if that helps any. For now I am trying to get this thing whipped well at least coexist with it.

My family has a history of hypothyroidism. I asked my doctor if this is why im so darned tired all the time and the reason for my steady wight gain for the past 8 years and he said thiat at my age I shouldnt have anything to worry about. Well after seeing some information about this im convinced that he needs to test me for this but I am interested in what you found?
I do use diet energy drinks full of b vits and caffeene but this only last so long and costs to much to be cost effective

Sunflower seed diet

Thursday, May 10, 2007

I am now on the sunflower seed diet which consists of me putting in a mouthfull of sunflower seeds and working on those for a half hour when I get hungry (ie. bored-hungry) This should keep my mouth occupied (ha ha for those of you making comments right now and should provide a little nourishment. Besides it is hard work getting to those seeds.

Sunday, April 08, 2007

That seemed to be a good description of my weight loss thus far. Slow and constantly uphill. Every time I think that I am going to get going the mountain seems to high and the poor little turtle slides back down the mauntain...
