Getting ready for a trip

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

I leave for my work trip in less than a week. Wisconsin here I come. Now this may not sound really exciting but I love to travel even if it is to Wisconsin. I'm excited to go I hope that I will get to do some sight seeing and perhaps some recreational stuff it is right on the edge of Lake Michigan. The main thing will be work related but I am just excited to get out of here for awhile. Almost 2 weeks. It is going to be great it will also be interesting to see another plant and how they operate. It could also be an exciting fitness trip since it looks like they have a lot of trails and stuff.

Puppy Love2

I know I talk about the dogs a lot (or the kids as I call them) but tonight at work I was talking to a guy about them and I realized how far my male Kojo has come. He has really bad anxiety, is really shy, he's a great dog but sometimes those things make me really impatient with him. After the flood it got a lot worse we moved a couple times before we got back in the house. While at the new places he was horrible, accidents on the floor, afraid of anything and everything. Before the flood though he also used to be terrified to go on walks he would want to go but then he was afraid of everything that moved while we were walking. Now since we are back in the house and he is in his element he has been on his best behavior, and not only that he loves walking as I've written before and he will walk with another person around him which is amazing. I realized it the other day when we were walking how much better he is he doesn't freeze up at the slightest movement while we are walking. It is really great for me seeing him be the good dog that he's always been, he was just too afraid before to be good.

Last year I was part of the project recovery team that went through the various affected neighborhoods. We thought of everything, what any human being may need and carried lists of resources with us to try and help people find what they needed. Many of times I was asked about stuff for animals and it just broke my heart that there wasn't much to help the pets that were affected by the flood.
I am happy to hear the Kojo has calmed down and doing well.

My interview is in 35 minutes aah!!! I have been studying like crazy hope I get it but the truth is I just want this stinking interview to be over I have been stressing about it for a week now and I think that is what is up with my constant headaches. So wish me luck I am crazy nervous hope I can calm down before the interview, for me there is a lot riding on this interview. And the extra dollar and some odd change an hour would be awesome to.

Bought a new toy

Monday, June 15, 2009

okay not really a toy. bought a truck on saturday for practical reasons not just for fun. It is really a great vehicle and it has room for everything that I may possibly need. Keeping the car too but I may eventually sell it if I find that I am driving the truck a lot more than I thought I would. Now when it comes time to do it I have no excuse not to buy a treadmill since I have a truck to haul it home in.
Went for another walk with the dogs yesterday and got to enjoy the festivities that were taking place because we are celebrating the one year anniversary of the flood. It was a nice little walk and I finally had the time to pay attention to the green tape on the light poles marking the water line from the flood. Bikers beware kojo does not like you he seems to want to bite the tires off of all bikes.
I really do enjoy our walks that we go on and I know that they are wore out from walking and will sleep the night away while I'm at work.

Good deal on your truck purchase. You may have saved a job there in Detroit!! Way to go! Hopefully, next year, I'll be able to buy a new truck. Doesn't have to be brand new, but something better than I have now.
I keep telling Pam that I need a dog so I can have someone to talk to and take walks with. Hopefully, one day she'll let me get one. I want a Labrador! Don't care if it's a black Lab or Yellow. I love 'em all. Not to much on the chocolate, but I'm learning that they are excellent dogs too. Who knows! I might just get an old mutt.
