Yay, today is the day that my kitchen backsplash is going in. I'm so excited. My kitchen will be finished outside of a little bit of paint touch up. I'll take some pictures of the finished product and post for you all to see.

We broke a very old weather record on Thursday. We had a down pouring of rain and that hasn't happened on Nov 26 since 1946! Thankfully the roads were not too bad going in to work yesterday morning. Warm weather yesterday also helped to keep things from freezing. It supposed to be above zero today and even up to plus 7 on Sunday! Unheard of for this time of year. Dips down to below zero for Monday and then back up again above zero for the next couple of days.
I could really get used to this weather. I'd rather see rain than snow anyday!

My positives:
My work week is done.
Shy and I had a great giggle going through some old family pictures last evening.
One load of laundry is done, which means today I'll get it finished off quickly.
Backsplash is going in today.
Kaeli has been getting lots of hours these past few days. They were supposed to be home on Friday, but her time has been extended thru to Monday as of now.
God, who continues to bless this family.

Woo hoo for the backsplash, know you have been looking forward to getting that done, one more thing off your list. Thanks for keeping it so positive, you do a great job. Our temps are in the higher 40's today, it's been a beautiful day and we'll take all we can get. I got my cards made for the exchange, now need to work on ones for family and friends. Countdown to Christmas

Well that last of the major holidays has come and gone and now the countdown is on to Christmas.
28 days to Christmas....wow! this year has really flown by.

We are in major budget crunch right now at work. The chances of anything that I order right now arriving this year is getting slimmer by the day. Our major vendors are working with us and trying to get as much of our on order items shipped as possible so they arrive before December 31.
I was initially supposed to be on holidays from December 23 to Jan 11, but with Geff away, my holiday time is now up in the air. It is a waiting game at the moment. I may have to resort to going in every morning and getting things going and then taking the afternoons off, but we will see how everything plays out.

One of my Christmas gifts that I ordered arrived yesterday, so now it really is beginning to feel like Christmas. Every year I go through the same thing...I figure out what to get everyone for Christmas and then I remember that I have two birthdays also to figure into the mix. LOL Q's birthday is the 11th and Shy's is the 18th. Now I'm back to square one trying to figure out what to get them for their birthdays....you would think after all these years I would get this! lol

It's Fabulous Friday today...so enjoy the day. I understand there is something called "Black Friday" happening in the states. Not sure what it is, but hope that it is a good thing!

My positives:
It Fabulous Friday...my favorite day.
My backsplash is being installed this weekend...yay a finished kitchen is on the horizon.
Geff is doing better, although we don't know when he'll be coming back to work.
My Christmas list is being ticked off. Love all those lines drawn thru completed tasks!
Did I mention it's Fabulous Friday! lol

Thank you for the explanation about Black Friday. It sounds very similiar to our Boxing Day sales. Boxing Day is Dec 26 and people line up for hours to be the first in the store for those drastic sales price cuts! Report Inappropriate Comment

I totally love "Black Friday" and it seems that people either love it or hate it. I enjoy shopping and get a thrill out of getting a good deal, but that also requires knowing what a good price is and not buying stuff just because it's on sale. You'll see far more women out shopping than men. The men are usually sitting in the soft-seating areas in the mall and/or near TV's if they have been dragged to the mall by the wives. Black Friday can be a good thing or a bad thing. Last year at a Walmart in New York City, I think, a security guard was trampled to death when customers stormed the store as the doors were unlocked. It started out as the day the stores actually started making a profit for the year...hence the name..Black Friday. Back to earlier mornings for work

I'm back to earlier mornings for work for awhile. It's not really that bad, only means going in about 30 minutes earlier than usual.

Yesterday morning when I got to work, I noticed that my co-worker (Geff) wasn't there. I was sure he had said "see you all tomorrow" when he had left work on Monday, so was a little surprised. Anyway, I rushed around getting everything up and running and ready for the day.
Got a message a bit later from Geff's wife to say that Geff had had a mild heart attack was in the hospital. Boy, talk about a shocker. Geff is a pretty healthy guy.
Talked to Sandy again last night just to see how things were going. Geff is resting comfortably now, but will be in hospital for about 4 days depending on what they find is some type of a test they are doing today. Not sure when he will be back to work at this point. Prayers for Geff's speedy recovery would be great.
Yesterday was also the anniversary of my Mom's passing, so that on top of everything else made for a struggle of a day. Today is a much better day.

My positives:
I am not a smoker, so have never had to battle that addiction.
I have the opportunity to create a healthy life for myself and thus my family.
I'm an early morning riser, so getting up abit earlier is not a problem for me.
Going in earlier means I get off work earlier too! Woo Hoo...I can come home for a nap! (Yeah, like I actually do! lol)
Wake-up calls that make all of us think about our own health.

Hump Day!

Yep, it's Hump Day, otherwise known as Wednesday in the working world. Mid way point of the work week. Now we are on the downside of the working week and heading for Fabulous Friday!
Funny how we use mental strategies to get us through. I love my job and I enjoy going to work every day, but I still find myself falling into the same mind thought as my co-workers.

Nothing much to report from yesterday, it was an average wonderful day. Great weather, busy day at work, things accomplished and an all round healthy day.

My positives:
Shy got her niece's Christmas gift purchased...now she just needs to get it wrapped and then I can seal up the parcel and get it sent.
Pay day today....Yay...grocery shopping after work.
Got my walking in during breaks yesterday at work.
Accomplished everything on my list from the Tuesday's challenge except for phoning my Aunt. Will do that today.
I've been blessed with another day to be all that I know I can be.

One more morning of waking up without more snow! Here we are at the end of November almost and only a small sprinkling of snow on the ground. We are still hitting the plus side of temperatures during the daytime. Makes me wonder what kind of months Jan, Feb and Mar are going to be!.

I woke up this morning also to realizing that for the first time in a long time, I actually slept through the night. Even though I went to bed early...I still could have rolled over and gone back to sleep. Must have something to do with the darker days and like the animals when winter comes, we want to hibernate! At least that's my story. LOL

My positives:

Still good driving conditions.
A great night's sleep.
My online Christmas project is complete and sent for publication. Yay...more gifts down.
Excited about getting my backsplash down this coming weekend.
Life in general...it's good!
