Nothing much exciting to report from yesterday. It was once again a wonderfully blessed day. A calm day, a quiet day. I was busy with the usual work routine at work and the usual work routine at home.
I'm thinking that it must be the weather that has me feeling so tired, I was in bed by 9pm last night. Just couldn't stay awake. Of course, having a cup of "sleepytime" tea about 8pm probably didn't help the wakefulness much! lol

I have another busy day at work, my co-worker that comes in early is still awake on sick leave. I have a tele-conference meeting this morning and another again on Thursday. Tomorrow we are closed for Remembrance Day and I will take the opportunity to do some remembering and thankfulness.

My positives:

My freedom on so many levels.

God in my life who helps me and blesses me daily.

Friends and family.

I've always wondered if Sleepytime Tea really did make one sleepy...now I know! Your Remembrance Day must be the same as Veterans Day here in the States. I echo your sentiments, being grateful for the freedoms that we enjoy and having our brave military, both past and present, to thank for those freedoms. In light of the tragedy at Ft. Hood last week, my prayers go up for all our military folks serving around this world of ours along with their families and friends who support them. So many sacrifices. Monday, Monday...

I didn't get on the computer at all yesterday, I took the day and freed myself from all obligations. I was even in bed last night at 8pm. For some reason, I've really done battle with fatigue this past few days.
Fresh start this morning though. I'm raring to go!
My co-worker that has been away sick, phoned me last night to let me know that he is still under the weather and won't be back yet. No problem, I'd rather he stayed away while he's still not feeling well. It does mean that I need to go in a bit earlier today as the recycle man will be arriving and needs to be let in.

My positives:

I woke up feeling much refreshed and ready to face whatever challenges come my way today as well as blessings.
I've got my exercises all done and now my blog, no pressures now!
My family remains healthy.
Kaeli has work this work, even if it means trudging thru lots of snow!
We don't have any snow here, YAY! I'm sure it will be arriving soon though.
I have my vehicle back, although the heated seat on the driver's side is still not working, it will be in a couple of weeks. A part needed to be ordered.
Time for morning meditation and affirmations this morning...no rushing!

Nov 7 - Silly Saturday - Girls Time

Shy and I had a great day together today. We headed out to do some Christmas shopping at one of the malls in the city. It was so nice just spending time together, laughing and connecting. I am so blessed that my girls want to spend time with Mom. We managed to get a couple of Christmas purchases made and got some great ideas to mull over on others.

Phone call from Kaeli to let me know that she had received my message yesterday and will be in camp for another weeks worth of work....YAY...thank you Lord for blessing her with much needed hours of work.

People that Kaeli stayed with for her first couple of weeks when she moved to Fort St. John are in town this weekend. Carolyn and Jim are actually relatives of one of my co-workers. They have been kind enough to take a pet carrier back with them for Kaeli. Now Kaeli will be able to bring her much loved "bunny" home with her at Christmas time. Not sure how the cats are going to like having Nevi here visiting, but I'll have a chat with them about manners and how to treat guest nicely! lol

I stopped at Burrito Libra to pick up a couple of burrito in a bowl salads for Shy and I for supper tonight. For some reason that I can't quite figure out, the staff in there have decided that I'm "Mommy". As soon as I walk in, I'm greeted on all sides by "Mommy!" Hi how are you's and We've missed you, where have you been". I really must ask one day, where their homeland is, as I haven't been able to figure out if they are from the Mexico or Latin America. They are such a lovely group of young people and today I got several hugs from them as well as they filled me in on things that have been happening in their lives. One young gentleman and one of the other young girls that works there were in a very serious car accident. They were traveling to Vancouver BC to do something with their visas and passports. On the way they hit black ice and ended up barely making it out alive as the car exploded. The young man is just come back to work and still looks a bit tender and the young girl is now home, but has had some spinal injuries and is in a brace. She will be out of commission for another few months. I'm not sure why these young people and I have created this very interesting bond, but I consider myself very blessed that they have adopted me. Our relationship is an odd one, but each time I walk into the store, my heart is blessed by them.

My positives:
Time spent with Shyra and having fun.
Some more Christmas gifts purchased...Yay and they are ones that need to be mailed soon.
Special people that God has placed in my life.
Meeting someone in Chapters store today that has been crossing my mind several times in the past few weeks. I need to follow up on this meeting now.
Carolyn and Jim and their willingness to take the pet carrier back with them for Kaeli to have.
Phone call from Kaeli.
Talked to Laney today and let her know what we (Grandma and Bapa) have purchased for Shavon for Christmas. Got an update on all the happenings in their world.
Amazing blessings in my life...sometimes the blessings almost overwhelm me, I find it so incredible how blessed I am.

Wanda, I totally understand why these folks like you so much!! Not a mystery to me! Racing described the use of Mami exactly as I know it to be...It is a term of endearment...My "sister" Rebeca's family will address me that way some times...so I asked her since I knew it meant "Mommy." Wow, it sounds like you've done all sorts of social networking today. I'm glad you got to spend such wonderful time with your daughters. Mamita is a term of endearment for many Latinos; directly translated it means ''little mama'' and is often shortened to ''Mami'' in casual settings. Depending on the context it could mean ''sister'' (among girlfriends) or ''baby'' (in a flirtatious way.) Either way it means they like you! Report Inappropriate Comment

Fabulous Friday at last!

This has been a very busy and long week at work. I am so looking forward to today's end of work day!
It's Fabulous Friday today, my favorite day of the week, come and join me in celebrating the day. lol


I was so tired last night that I was in bed by 8:30 and probably asleep moments after my head hit the pillow. Yay, tomorrow I don't have to get up at 5 am. Not that it makes much difference, I'm so used to getting up at that time, that I automatically wake up then....oh well, I don't have to get up and I can roll over and attempt to go back to sleep.

My Positives:

I have a shortened day today, I leave just after noon. It was supposed to be my day off, and I have an appointment to attend at 1:20, so I will be able to leave a couple of hours earlier than I would usually. (the perks of going to work for 6 am, means I get to leave mid afternoon)
No snow! so driving will be a breeze.
It's Fabulous Friday.
Crossing things off my calendar is a huge plus right now in my life.
Friends and family.
God.

I had to get up early too this morning to open the door for someone who needs to come in and clear the pipes out for winter at my friends house! It is supposed to be a balmy +14 today, very unusal weather for this time of year, I love it!

Last night, Garry and I, went to see his brother at the grand opening of one of the new stores (Save on Foods) that his brother was overseeing. Garry's brother is the Western Canada manager for produce for Save on Foods. It means lots of traveling for him and a very busy life style. The new store has been built here in Sherwood Park and is so much more convenient for me to go shopping at...YAY! Brian lives in Red Deer, so was a nice opportunity to go and see him for a brief visit. He is hoping to head home again on Saturday.
As we were leaving the store with our purchases last night, we got handed another bag of goodies. Got home to discover not only did I obtain another great reuseable shopping bag, but interesting samples of groceries in it too! How blessed.

On Saturday, I'm hoping to get a chance to see a friend's daughter and her kids that will be in town. It depends on her time schedule, so she will phone if she has time. So many interesting things happening.

Yesterday when I got to work, I discovered that my fellow early morning co-worker was not there. Geff phoned me about 5 minutes after I arrived to let me know he is sick! From the sounds of it, he may very well be dealing with H1N1. So for the next couple of weeks at least, I will be heading into work earlier than usual. My day off on Friday has had to be cancelled, but at least I'll still get off early as I have a 1pm appointment. I think over the next few weeks, many of us will be learning to just roll with the punches.

My positives:
Still no snow!
Seeing Garry's brother and getting a lovely bag full of freebies.
Being flexible.
My health.
Working hard at staying on track.
Life...it's just full of blessings, especially when we make the effort to look for them.

DD keeps saying that I have H1N1. I tell her, I have a cold. But a persistant one at that. Glad that you are healthy and able to keep flexible. I'm working toward it. The 'still no snow' is worth its weight in GOLD! as a positive right now - isn't it. We are going to get your 14C this weekend and am I ever looking forward to it so I can do my container garden clean up on the roof patio! Nice post, Wanda, though I'm sorry about your coworker being ill. The H1N1 is certainly beginning to take its toll around our countries. I'm blessed to be able to work from home! Isn't it grand getting free reusable shopping bags and especially with goodies inside? My only challenge is remembering to take the bags in the grocery store with me...I usually forget and leave them in the car. :) We're supposed to get rain here in Oregon today, though since that's what we're known for and it IS that time of year, I certainly don't mind.
