A long day today!

Thursday, October 01, 2009

It's nice to be home after a 9.5 hour work day that started at 6 am.
I am so looking forward to having next week off. Not that I'll be doing a lot of relaxing, hope to fit some in though. I'm hopeful that my new kitchen will be installed and I will have time to organize it and still be able to create a Thanksgiving supper.

My positives:
Had a nice chat with Kaeli last night...she's sure struggling with her job right now, so prayers on her behave would be appreciated. Her hours have been cut, so making ends meet is a struggle.
My work day is over.
Despite heave frost over night, we did not have any snow as yet. Windows needed to be scrapped though this morning.
Garry did my container garden clean up for me...unfortunately...he discarded my green onions, thinking that they weren't likely to develop into regular size onions. He didn't realize that they were green onions!
I have holidays arriving very soon! YAY.
So blessed in so many ways.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your evening is wonderfully relaxing....I'm going to try to make mine relaxing. lol

Hugs,
Wanda

Wanda, Kaeli's in my prayers...I know how that is...my hours are increased but we received pay decreases...and vacation decreases...and 403(b) eliminated...BUT I have a roof, my "girls," John, and my Spark Family!

Blessings!

I'm whimping out tonight....

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Okay...this may by some standards not really be a blog....but my tiredness is really catching up with me tonight. Had a very busy day today at work, lot's of looking at a computer screen, which may explain the tired eyes.
Tomorrow I will have a long day again...mandatory meeting which they say could last until 4pm....that's a long day for me when I have to be at work at 6am. Oh well....I'm blessed...I have a job.

My positives:

Hot water tank is fixed...I have hot water again....was a very cold shower this morning.
A job that I enjoy and woo hoo...payday today.
All of you, You all help me to keep on going with your support and encouragement.

Now I'm off for a wee relaxing before hitting the bed.

Hugs,
Wanda

If I remember correctly, you said to blog even if it was only a line or two, so I'd say you fit that bill very nicely. Relax and enjoy your evening before retiring.

Another project has been accomplished!

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Yay, my new floors are done. I now have lovely new flooring in my in as yet, empty kitchen.

The beginning of the kitchen demo

Another lovely "before" picture

Love how the previous owners completed the paint job in the kitchen!

My handy Mr. is making progress with getting those cupboards down. He's excited because they are all going in the garage for his "new" workshop!

Yay, the cupboards are out....now for the floor!

Not sure how well you can see it, but it's lovely cork flooring...almost looks like a burl wood.

It's so nice to have a lovely floor to walk on and admire. I'm so thrilled with it.
Next project is installing the new cupboards. That should be happening in the next few days.

I am so blessed with where I work, I was able to leave work this morning about 10:30 am and head home to be there when the floors were being installed. As I have the software on my home computer that allows me to connect to the server at work, I was able to continue to work from home. I kinda like working from home...hmmmmm, wonder if a deal could be worked out? lol

My positives:
My new floor.
A husband who enjoys providing such lovely things.
Being able to leave work and work from home.
One more project scratched off the too do or finish list.
No snow yet....but by the weekend, we are told we will probably see some!
God who provides us not only with our needs, but throws in some wants too.

Have a lovely evening, I'm off to wet mop the dust from the kitchen floor and think about what to have for supper.

Hugs,
Wanda

  Wanda

It seems so unreal to hear you talk about snow. Where we live that shouldn't happen here until at least December. Brrrrrrrrrr Winter is approaching.

Looking forward to seeing more or your renovation. We are planning to do some renovations ourselves but I wanted to wait until after Christmas. You're making me want to jump ahead and start now. LOL

Yikes!

Monday, September 28, 2009

Just listening to the news for the first time in several days....the weather is not looking so good.
We have had major winds for the past couple of days. Temperatures have dropped considerably. I've been out to try and cover up the plants that still need some protection and hopfully a little more growing time. Trouble is, I don't think they are going to get it....our weather prediction is for "slush" on the weekend! YIKES! I'm so not wanting winter yet.

Hey, Nancy...it's great to hear how your day has gone.

My positives:
A crock pot with supper in it. Just had to reheat from yesterday.
Blessed with having a nice solid house that has been with standing all the winds and cold temperatures.
Friends, who offer such wonderful support and encouragement.
My new floor is supposed to go in tomorrow. When it's done, my new kitchen can then be installed. With luck, I'll have a new kitchen by next week.
God who is teaching me to remain focused on my goals.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,
Wanda

Can't wait to see photos of the new kitchen!

Hugs and blessings.

Ugh, slush. We're not too far behind. I had to turn on the heat last night for the first time. 43 degrees this morning to wake up to. We can be thankful for warm, wonderful homes and that you have plants to take care of and give you happiness and perhaps some exercise. Yeah for all of our blessings. Enjoy your new kitchen as well.

Woo Hoo! (that's for the reno's) Gee whiz! (that's for the slush) and as the kids say OMG on the strong winds! Your poor plants. Poor you for having to cover them all. I will not complain about my weather, I promise. You're talking snow and I'm taking a swim in the 72 degree pool and feeling sorry for myself? I'm readjusted now, thank you. Have a great evening. I look forward to meeting this week's challenges with you.
Love, Nancy

Serenity Sunday ?

Sunday, September 27, 2009

Okay, Serenity Sunday wasn't exactly kick back and relax in our house. We still had a couple of cupboards to get out of the kitchen and needed the help of a couple of people to accomplish that.
Floor is all cleaned and ready now for Craig to come in on Tuesday and lay the new floor.

Crock pot was put to great use today, producing a lovely aromatic pot of chili. Garry popped some baking potatoes on the BBQ and supper was an easy meal. Sure did taste great. There is enough left overs now for a couple days worth of lunches. YAY!

Quinton arrived home today. What a nice surprise. He's crashing at our place for a few days. He's not sure if he will look for a place in the city to reside or if he will head off to the mountains in Revelstoke for the winter. He's looking on line at the moment about the job situation there and how knows what he will finally decide. In the meantime, he's going to install my new lights in the kitchen for me. Bless his heart.

My positives:
Everything is falling into place for the new install. Floors on Tuesday, electricians on Thursday and then the new cupboards.
A very blustery day and I was able to grab a few minutes to sit out on the back deck enjoying the solid wind blowing. Loved it!
Time to sit down and watch season Premier of Extreme Home Makeover with Shyra.
Supper provided by my lovely crockpot.
A blessed day in so many ways.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,
Wanda
