Still on track...

I'm still on track with my blogging. Almost didn't do one today, as we've been busy with yard work, more painting and just plain exhausted from the heat...but then as I went to sit down, I thought about the fact that I hadn't been on SP today and that my choice was to just ignore it for today or just get my backside to the computer and do it. Well here I am!

I'm off to post this weeks challenge also when I've finished my blogging, so pop on over and check it out...even participate...it is all about choices!

We had another very warm day today...thankfully not quite as warm as yesterday. Sleeping last night was pretty much non-existant...but the plus side to that...it's cooler in the house tonight...I'm sure I will sleep and be rested and ready for a work week tomorrow.

My positives:

Pretty much got all the painting done in the kitche...just that small section that I need Garry with his height to reach for me...rest is done.
After all the yard work was complete...we headed to the hardware store to check out some possible backsplash options.
Good choices today.
I know that sleeping will be much easier tonight.
My last Auntie's birthday today...had a lovely conversation with her.
Life...it's just plain wonderful.

Wanda I was on my way to your house when I was detoured. LOL How neat to have a green house. You are beginning to give me the bug to paint our house. It's been about five years since it's last paint job. It will probably not get done until fall and possibly after Christmas. With the canning some other things get pushed to the side. Started my day off with some giggles and the day just continued to get better from there.

Very hot here today, in the plus 30's...all I know is that moving created sweat! lol
I did managed to get part of my kitchen (the parts I could reach) painted. Not too thrilled though with the paint...at certain angles you can see the roller marks. May have been the roller I was using, or perhaps because it was so hot. I'll give it another coat tomorrow using a different roller and see if that makes a difference. I'm pleased with the colors. We wanted to get the painting done before the new floors and kitchen go in at the end of September.

By painting them now, I'll have a chance to live with the colors for awhile to be sure I really like them. Besides now, I'll be able to start looking for backsplash tile.

My positives:

Money to purchase the paint, and the energy today to do the painting!
Silly Saturday...lots of giggles.
Lots of exercising...up and down from the chairs that I was using...even my butt muscles are sore now!
The kitchen painting is almost finished...at least all the parts that I could reach are done.
A very nice sunny day.
God, friends and family, who support and encourage me.

Went to work at my usual time this morning and then got to leave at 10 am for the rest of the day. Woo Hoo early start to the weekend.
I came home and got started on my weekend chores...you know, the laundry, cleaning etc.

Then I dug out all the painting supplies and made several different color test patches on a wall in the kitchen that I want to get painted before our new kitchen goes in. Now I will leave the patches up so the family can help me make a decision.
It is so hot out today, the paint was drying on the wall almost as soon as I put it there!

Spent the afternoon chillaxing. Didn't want to go anywhere that I would have to drive to. We are experiencing a gas shortage due to last Saturdays storm. Two of the refineries received some damage in the storm and had to be shut down for repairs. In the meantime, I will be limiting my traveling as we don't know how long this will last. Several of the gas stations in Edmonton are already experiencing "no gas".

Wanda If I had known you were getting off work early today you could have come help me with all these green beans. LOL I know what you mean about painting to freshen up the kitchen before getting those new cabinets. I know you have to be getting excited. Glad you got some down time. You deserve it. I woke up at 3:30 this morning and had a difficult time going back to sleep, only to have to get up at 5 am for work...so it's a sleepy day and low energy.

I did stand up in protest at work against an email that sent to all staff complaining about the actions of another co-worker. I felt it was inappropriate and the person was very humiliated to see the letter in circulation. Spoke to our supervisor about it and stated that if there was an issue between the two people that it should have been handled privately. I did not appreciate being dragged into their disagreement via an email sent to all staff. I'm glad and proud of myself for saying something as I'm usually the one the just keeps quiet.

My positives:
A very hot day today and I got to come home early from work.
Lunch with my husband.
A quiet evening ahead of me to relax and then head for bed early as I'm still very tired.

God who helps me to do the right thing.

Day 4 in a row of blogging! Woo Hoo.

Pay day today, so Shy and I are going to take ourselves out for a bite to eat. I've calculated and I have room in my calorie range for a nice salad...and possibly room to share a dessert with Shy. lol

Then it will be home to do the Writing Wednesday Challenge and watch "So you think you can dance". For someone, who watches very little tv, I can't believe how quickly I got hooked on that show! Still my favorites are in the running...actually almost all of the ones that are left are favorites...I'd make a terrible judge, cause I think they are all good. lol

Garry forgot his cell phone at home today, he thought he had lost it. When he phoned me from his work to tell me, I was happy to tell him..."you left it on the bed". Much relieved. Such an expense to have to replace and restore everything.

My Positives:
An awesome Wednesday challenge...thank you Mauri...I've got an answer, just have to get it written down.
Got to leave work early today as things have slowed down somewhat with selectors away on holidays.
Supper out with Shy.
A great tv program to watch tonight.
Having so many blessings occur in my day, creating within me a grateful heart.
Abundance of wonderful spark friends.
