I'm back to normal....

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Woke up this morning straight out of a heavy duty dream and with a bad headache. Because of my low tolerance for meds, I knew that I might be in for a rough ride at work today. I did manage to get the bulk of my work accomplished before finally having to listen to my body and head for home just after lunch. Not sure why I had such a terrific headache as I'm generally a very healthy person. Perhaps it had something to do with the intense dream I experienced last night, although the dream itself was not anything I would have thought as being stressful. The dream is still very vivid in my mind, so I know that there is a message in it for me, some of which I believe I understand. Anyway, came home and took a tylenol and immediately headed for bed. Zonked out almost immediately and slept for a couple of hours. Still a bit of a residual of the headache when I awoke, so headed outdoors to my mediation spot on the deck, sat back, closed my eyes and let my spirit drift with the peacefulness.
I'm thrilled to say, I'm doing much better now and anticipate a full day at work tomorrow and feeling great.
I must admit though, that I'm curious about what tonight's dreams will bring, as I'm sure there is more to the dream from last night than I've been able to understand. So I will say a healing prayer before falling asleep tonight and trust that what needs to be yet revealed with be revealed in God's perfect timing and that I will not experience any discomfort as a result of any deep dreaming.

My positives:

The opportunity to leave work early and take care of my body.
A lovely deck that offers me a place of tranquility.
My favorite food for dinner tonight....a veggie burrito in a bowl....basically it's all the fixings for a burrito minus the burrito!
Watching "so you think you can dance" with Shy tonight. Always a fun experience, she is our dancer in the family.
Payday today! WOO HOO!
God in my life.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit, have a wonderful evening....tomorrow is Thoughtful Thursday....Random Acts of Kindness day.

Hugs,
Wanda

Sometime technology is not very friendly....

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

It's been a frustrating past three days. Q has been trying to call from the remote location that he is working at up north. The call will connect to our phone, we answer but then the line seems to shut down, I'll hear him say hello and that is all we can say, before the connection is gone again. ARRRRGGGHHHH! I've tried reversing the call and calling him and all that I get is an anwering machine. SIGGGGHHHH.

Hopefully he will send me a message via facebook.

Shy borrowed my vehicle and drove into the city to meet a friend and go to improv tonight. It's improv week and they love going.

My positives:
Had a lovely sit out on my deck after work today, the wind was blowing, so had to wear a jacket, but it was nice regardless.
A chatty talking Tuesday.
Attempts by my son to phone me.
Friends, friends and friends. I am so blessed.

thank you all who stop by for a visit, I'm working my way through all my emails and who to touch base with each one of you.

Have a wonderful evening.

hugs,
Wanda

It sounds like you are getting use out of that new deck, how nice is that. I am sure some of this hot air will find it's way to you. Hope you connect with Q soon.

Oh, Wanda, you know after my computer troubles I'm nodding heartily about the frustration from technology...but at least we have it, right?! and it works most of the time!

I love sitting on your deck with you! :) Actually I loved being at my CT cousins' home...they have the best outdoor space...having left many of the trees on their property untouched! Lots of wonderful critters visit...and it's the best sitting round the firepot!

Hugs,
Mauri

Wanda - I agree that sometimes the technology is not very friendly... We got a new Dell All in One Printer,Copier, FAX... The Fax part was what we were wanting more than the other... Well I've had it replaced twice and it's still will not receive a fax properly. Grrrrr. So this morning I sent Andy to the basement to retrieve the OLD (all I do it fax) fax machine... hee hee Sometimes simple is easier...

Hope you get a message from Q... I know you miss him... Hope the polar Bears didn't eat the phone... hee hee Tell him to bring them a pepsi or is it coke... I forget... LOL

Enjoy your day...

((hugs))

Just reporting in...

What a lovely weekend I've had.
Friday...a day off work, filled with sunshine and spotty rain. Garry had the day off work also, so we met up with Shy on her lunch hour and shared a lunch. After lunch we came back home and finished up some chores around the house.

Saturday.. another beautiful sunny day with intermittent rain. Although the rain never lasted for very long, it was enough to give the plants and grass a bit of a drink.
Had an email from our son who is working up north to say all is well and he is busy. Spent some time wandering around pricing out more renos things...didn't buy anything...just getting prices. Garry and Shy went to look for a car for Shy. The one they looked at though was not well taken care of and very abused, so they passed on it. She has a limited budget so finding something she can afford has been a little difficult. The plus for her is she is not in a hurry.

Spent lots of time out on the deck just enjoying my "ocean" sounds, reading and visiting with each other.

My positives:
A three day weekend.
Lots of little things accomplished.
Lots of relaxing and just being.
This week's challenge has been posted.
Chatting with Nancy.
Hearing from Quin. (Marla...tell Kevin, Q says the fishing is great! lol)
It's Father's Day today...a time to honor "dads"
My glass is full.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day.

Hugs,
Wanda

It's time to blog....

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

The days are going by so fast that by the time I've caught up after work with everyone else's blogs and posts and making comments, I forget that I haven't done my own. LOL.

Okay so here goes. IT'S A GREAT DAY! (because I said so!)

We had a little sprinkly of rain last night, not even enought to wet the chair cushion that I forgot to put away. The skies were dark this morning and it looked like we were finally going to have some rain....don't know what happend to all those rain clouds, but the skies are sunny and blue now! Silly weather. The farmers are really in trouble around here, even the pasture grass is not growing. Usually by now they are doing a first cutting, but there is nothing to cut yet.

Had an email last night letting me that our granddaughter is sporting her first broken bone. She fell off the trampoline and broke her arm. She needs to see an orthopedic specialist on Thursday. Prayers for a quick healing would be appreciated.

Busy at work as usual...I really don't mind as it makes the day go by fast. Lots of chatting going on with co-workers, vendors and patrons. Now I'm chatting on SP. I'm going to take Friday off as I have so many overtime hours, I need to use some of them up.
A nice long weekend...yippee...housework here I come! lol.

My positives:
Lot's of work to keep me busy.
We did get a slight sprinkle of rain.
Well within my calorie range and even have room for some yogurt ice cream as a treat this evening.
Coming on to SP after work and reading such encouraging posts and blogs. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great evening. Tomorrow is writing Wednesday...don't forget to check out the daily challenges to see what is in store.

Hugs,
Wanda

Wow, you wrote this on Tuesday and it's already Thursday. I hope all is well with your granddaughter and her broken arm. Have you seen more rain since this post? I think you posted about rain on the chat thread, but now I can't trust myself to know whether that was referring to this rain or later rain. I'm still trying to send some of ours your way. I don't think weather patterns like to travel north though.

Enjoy your three day weekend!!

Wanda prayers will be said for the GD, the young ones usually do heal quickly, thank goodness. We had rain most of the day, but now it looks like it might be clearing off. Tomorrow starts Celebrate Charlotte, there will be a car show downtown on main street in the evening and there will be free music in a lot of different places around town, this goes on through Sunday when there will be a WWII Warbirds flying in to our little local airport and there will be a pancake breakfast in the hanger, thinking about taking DH to that for Father's Day. You have a great weekend and hope your DH enjoys his Father's Day.

Shirl

Good Morning to everyone that stops by for a visit.

I'm catching up on yesterday and today.

I had a wonderful day yesterday. My day started out with having my monthly theraputic massage. Lots of knots worked out of my back, great conversation with my massage therapist and left feeling much lighter than when I walked in. Wendy performs Reiki on my also while doing the massage...her hands are pure magic.

Came home and spent some time with Shy as she was preparing to go camping with friends this weekend. Made an attempt to finish the weeding of dandelions on our back lawn, but the ground is so dry and by this time it was very hot out, decided to wait until evening to finish. Gave my lovely container plants a much needed watering. Thinking I am going to have to go and purchase a new package of green onion seeds. It's been 4 weeks now and not even a remote peek of anything growing in that pot.
Phoned Garry to see how his day at work was going and to let him know that seeing as I had the day completely to myself and had all the laundry done, I was heading into the city to do some window shopping and mall walking. A wonderfully successful day. Spent 3 hours wandering around, found an awesome sale, tried on an armload of clothes and came home with 5 tops and a pair of pants all at 40% off. Woo Hoo on a blessing.
To top my evening off, Garry and I went out for supper, we both had a caesar salad and then shared a dessert. Perfect supper for a hot day. We reached 28 degrees...for us that is hot!
Then we came home and sat out on the back deck relaxing. About 9pm Garry decided that he was going to put the water on to give the lawn some moisture. It was supposed to rain, but the clouds all disappeared. It's so incredibly dry that he thought perhaps a couple of hours of good soaking watering might also make things green up a bit and making pulling the weeds easier today.

My positives:
A beautiful sunny day/
3 hours of mall walking...woo hoo some extra calories burned.
A day to myself to do what I wanted with no expectations.
Laundry all done.
Massage...now I can move again without limited movement.
A lovely supper out with my hubby and an enjoyable evening spent relaxing on the deck.
God who places blessings in my path and loves me unconditionally.

Thanks for stopping by and for thinking of me.
Have a wonderfully blessed day. It's Serenity Sunday and a great day to recharge.

Hugs,
Wanda
