Ahhhhh, Serenity Sunday....the end of other weekend. What a lovely weekend it has been.
The sun has been shining, the temperatures are beautiful. I've been able to move all my plants back outside, I now have kitchen floor space again.

Shy and I had a great long walk yesterday, we walked to her eye appointment, walked around the mall and then walked back home again. The walk to and from the eye appointment alone was 1.5 hours. It was so nice to be outside and walking again without freezing.

Had a phone call from Kaeli Friday night to let us know that she had arrived safely and then a call from her yesterday to give us an up date on what she had accomplished during the day. One of the first places that she had checked out was the local library and signed up for a membership! lol. How can you tell that reading is a major pass time in our family!

Today, we are hoping to make a start on ripping up the old deck and finding out if we need to replace the any supports underneath before purchasing the needed material for the new deck. Kathy....my "beach front" is being extended. lol

Have a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by. Remember to take some time for yourself today and recharge your batteries.

Hugs,
Wanda

Wanda - woo hoo and bigger deck. Andy is almost finished with ours too... I'm sure you will enjoy yours soon. Glad that the weather is getting nice for you.
Good news that Kaeli made it safe and sound. Hope she enjoys her time there.

I hope to blog about it, but I will share that I spent the day at Cypress Gardens today. I've been wanting to go for so long. And was so thrilled when Andy asked me to go. What a great day looking at all the beautiful plants, trees and flowers. Lots of walking and resting too... lol With our backs it was a must. All in all a very nice Serenity Sunday for me.

Glad you had a nice one too...

((hugs))

Wanda, Thank you for sharing with us. It has been a Serenity Sunday here as well. After church, Ken and I were planting some tomato plants and hostas when the thunder and the rains came. We got finished just as the big drops started hitting the trees. VIsited with our neighbors across the street for a while. We are just enjoying the quiet now.
Have a great Memorial Day!!
Blessings and hugs,
Helen

Love you.

Fabulous Friday....

Friday, May 22, 2009

Yippee, it's Fabulous Friday...not only do I acknowledge my own fabulousness, I acknowledge the fabulousness of God's creations around me.

The sun is shining so nicely today...we reached a whopping high of +13, woo hoo! Supposed to go down to 1 tonight, so still not putting the plants out. Tomorrow though is another day. Those plants are going outside to soak up some rays!

It's a bit of a sad day also, my eldest embarked on her career move today. Departed for BC at nine am this morning. I'm excited for her, but sure going to miss having her close by. Our son will be home for the weekend and preparing for his departure back up north until October. At least I'll still have one of my little birds at home. I enjoy having my children close by, they are such amazing young adults.

My positives:

Did a great job of staying on track with my nutrition today...in fact, I'm under so will have room for a treat tonight.
Sunshine, beautiful sunshine.
It's the beginning of a weekend.
My half bath sink is all reconnected and now I can begin putting the room back in order.
Great to hear from Marla on the posts today...miss you when you aren't able to get on.
Friends who think of me during the day and send me emails to giggle over and enjoy.
People in my life who without their even knowing, bless my day just by their smiles.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to feed my family. Have a wonderful evening everyone.

Hugs,
Wanda

A wonderful day, lots of giggles and laughs at work, a lovely supper at suppertime, and looking forward to spending a nice evening with my family. It will be a short blog tonight.

Kaeli leaves tomorrow for her new job and home in Fort St. John BC. Sure am going to miss having her at home, but consider ourselves very blessed in the time that we did have her living here. Prayers for a safe journey are appreciated. She has an eight hour drive ahead of her tomorrow on unfamiliar roads.

My positives and blessings:

A great day at work.
Enough work to keep me comfortably busy, but not overloaded.
Garry home early tonight to help cook the steaks for he and the girls on the BBQ.
An evening to look forward to with my family.
Weather forecast for the next few days includes SUNSHINE! and warmer temperatures.
God who amazes me everyday with so many blessings.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit. Tomorrow is Fabulous Friday...consider why you are fabulous and then leave a post on the daily challenges.

Have a wonderful evening.
Hugs,
Wanda

It's the 19th of May for goodness sake....

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Okay...I'm really tired of winter! Woke up this morning to snow on the ground. Not impressed Lord! Okay, I know, we do need the moisture...but a nice gentle rain would be so much warmer! lol

My last day of holidays and part of me is anxious to get back to work as we are so busy there, the other part is saying ....wouldn't it be nice to be retired! Actually, I would be bored doing nothing, but then I have a wonderful plan that I'm anxious to put into action upon having more time to devote to it. Some ideas that God has been laying across my heart and I know they will come to fruitation in the right timing.

My Positives:

The snow has finally melted, it's still very cold out and overcast but at least I now see some grass! woo hoo!
Lunch date with my girls. Kaeli is moving on Friday to Ft. St. John, BC to begin her much awaited for archeology job. She is nervous and excited all at the same time.
My laundry machines are all reconnected and my laundry is all done.
Did I mention how much I really love my new cork flooring! lol
Made some head way in getting my office and family room in some sort of order. As soon as the replacement carpeting for our flooded basement arrives, I will have both those rooms back in order.
Life...it's just so great when we take the time to see all the blessings that come our way.
Old friends and new friends.
God who in His wisdom guides my footsteps.

Thanks for stopping by....check out tomorrows Writing Wednesday challenge.

Hugs,
Wanda

A couple days late and a dollar short... LOL
I'm glad that you are getting your home back in order and that you love your new cork floor. Now, about that lotus flower color... is that a tan-ish color? I tried looking it up and that is what came up. I'm trying to visualize it. lol

Hope you are enjoying your time back at work. And enjoy the flowers that that snow will provide moisture for... ( boy that Was positive wasn't it) LOL I think Mauri inspired me... lol Well her and you... You always do...
In case I haven't said it lately... Thanks for the wonderful positive person that you are...

I'm sore........I've been busy!

Yesterday evening I damp mopped all the new cork flooring and we put a coat of sealer on it. It really looks great. This morning we noticed about 4 spots that we missed! go figure! Oh well, we still have to do the front entryway so we'll catch those spots then.

Bright and early this morning I repainted the laundry area the same "lotus Flower" color as the halfbath. It looks very nice. Painted all the new baseboards last night so they were ready for Garry to cut and install today. We went with bigger baseboards with a bit of a design to them. They sure look great. Garry is hoping to get them all nailed in place tonight, so that we can move my washer and dryer back into place and I can get some laundry done tomorrow.

I also painted Shy's bedroom today, which means that all those paint fumes have really done their number on me. My eyes are itching, and because I've been breathing them in, all my joints are inflamed. One of the side effects that occurs when the toxins enter my body. Oh well, the plus side is the rooms really look good now and I'm done with painting in closed in areas.

We hope to get the half bath all put back together tomorrow also. The new toilet to install as well as the new vanity and vanity top. Such fun! I'm sure looking forward to having some organization happening in the house.

We had a beautiful sunny day, although the wind was cold. Tomorrow is supposed to be the same and then cold with possible snow! I'll be hauling all my plant pots back into the house again.

My positives:
Garry had the day off to help with all the reno things going on.
Painting is done for now.
Baseboards almost all installed in the back entryway, laundry area and bathroom.
Kaeli picked up supper for us all tonight. Yay,...not cooking.
A wonderful day of crossing things off my "to do" list.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to have a long soak.

Hugs,
Wanda

Oh boy... Sounds like all kinds of positive things happening around your house. (except for those fumes) I am going to have to look up that color you mentioned to see what it looks like.
Enjoy all that new positive energy at your home and hope that is warms up for you and your plants. lol Time to sit on the back deck and enjoy the waves... lol
We are finally getting much needed rain... thanks to an early tropical depression of sorts out in the Atlantic. Oh well... I wanted rain and so I got it... LOL

Enjoy your Motivational Monday my friend...

You certainly are getting a lot done - a nice hot bath sounds in order for certain. Know that I'll be bringing all my plants in this evening as well - we're supposed to have a frost. Soon you'll be able to sit back with a nice tall 'cold one' and relaxing in the joy of your labours!
