A beautiful sunshine day, a great way to finish the work week and head into a nice long weekend.
Shy's foot is slowly coming along. She stayed home from work today with her foot up as the walking she had done yesterday at work, caused it to start bleeding again. Unfortunately where the cut is, when she walks, it causes it to pull apart. So off the foot, and let it heal.

Great day yesterday on our ULS trip to Calgary. A very long day...a 12 hour day. Very worth the trip though. Successful meetings and shopping for Adult non-fiction books.

Today was spent catching up on things that didn't get done yesterday at work. I was able to leave work today though, knowing that I wasn't leaving a big amount of work for Monday.

My positives:
Beautiful sunshine, warm weather, off work at 2pm today, insurance straightened around, the person that is coming to accurate floor measurements is coming on Saturday, three days off and time for me!

Thanks for stopping by my very brief blog today. Thank you to all of you that have sent me such warm and thoughtful Easter Greetings. I appreciate very much your thoughts and caring. Wishing you all a very Blessed and wonderful Easter.

Hugs,
Wanda

What an interesting day this has been. So many blessings and so many unusual happenings.

First off, Shy cut her foot at 5am this morning, while walking around in the dark in her room. Her kitty lives downstairs with her during the night and when he heard me up, he wanted his breakfast. Shy got up half asleep still to give him some, kicked his glass bowl into his water dish and the bowl broke cutting her foot. She hadn't realized that she had cut it until she'd crawled back into bed and managed to get blood all over her bed and self. I went to see what had happened and found her sitting on her floor with a towel wrapped around her foot. Took a good look at it and performed some first aid. She almost passed out from moving too quickly and I got her back into bed with her foot elevated on a pillow. The bleeding stopped and I told her to go back to sleep and when she got up for work to check it again then.
She called me at work at 7 to say it seemed to have stopped bleeding, look gross but she was fine. Told her to get Kaeli to change the bandage and just wear her boot slippers to work as I knew her shoe wouldn't fit over top of the bandage.
She was at work for about 30 minutes and came back to see me to tell me that her foot had started bleeding again. Boy had it ever! Phoned the health link line to see what medi clinics were open and then headed out the door with her. There was a 3 hour wait at the medi clinic. Fortunately the medi clinic is just downstairs in the same building as our doctor, so I scooted up two flights of stairs to the doctors office, they said they would see her right away and yes they could suture if it wasn't too bad.
Back downstairs to grab Shy and then back upstairs again...woo hoo...I'm burning calories. Great thing, the doctor was able to suture in the office, and we were out of there and back at work in about an hour and half. Poor girl had a traumatic morning! Cuts her foot, almost passes out, gets to work and bleeds all over, stitches in her foot and then too boot...she had to have a tetnus shot!

My positives:
Shy accident happened today...I'm out of town tomorrow.
Doctor's office was able suture her foot in the office...only missed about 90 minutes of work.
Shy is doing well.
Sunshine today.
She cut the top and side of her foot, not the bottom, so she can still at least get around not too bad.
Lots of compliments on my bravery with my hair! lol.
Tomorrow, I and a co-worker are going on a "field trip" to Calgary to have some meetings with one of our Vendors and tour their new warehouse.
God who watches over us.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great evening. I'm posting Wednesday's challenge this evening...check it out.

Hugs,
Wanda

Lucky you were there for Shy. All's well that ends well! Hope you have a good trip & get some fun shopping in while you're away. I really enjoyed getting a little shopping in while I was away, too.

One more item crossed off....

Monday, April 06, 2009

One more thing crossed off my "100 things I want to do before I die" list!
I've always wanted to do something so outside the box for me when it comes to my hair. Well I did it! On Friday of last week, I headed to the hairdressers, got my hair cut....but I also got some color put in it. Not your usual shades of color...nope, I got purple!

Another view

Now for what it looks like from the front angle....woo hoo. You should have seen the look on my husbands face! The girls were absolutely delighted with my grand gesture. In fact, Kaeli thinks I should get my nose pierced now. Something very dainty. Not so sure I want to go there after seeing how much pain she was in from getting hers done. lol.

Went to work today and had lots of compliments on it. I was rather surprised how long it actually took for anyone to really notice. I'm happy, figured, it's only hair, it grows and gets cut so why not.
I think it's time to change my avatar picture from the snowy one! Here's what my yard looks like today.....

The snow is melting quickly....I'm really beginning to think that Spring has sprung in the great white north! Yippee!

My positives:
One more item crossed off my list.
Snow is melting.
Sun is shining.
Got off work at 2pm today, seeing as I had to go in 30 minutes earlier than usual.
Supper is on the go...a nice veggie chili is simmer away on the stove.
God who is so incredibly good to me.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting.

Have a wonderful evening.
Hugs,
Wanda

Way to go with the hair color, you bold woman you, you are really shaking things up. Hey I can see your yard, woo hoo! Did you ever see the movie The Bucket List, it was good, but also sad in a way. Sounds like you had a pretty good Monday, hope the rest of your week goes well. Joyce's niece ended up not being able to take her tomorrow, so it's me, I also have Caleb to take to karate class later in the day and then there is a class at church I am going to at 6:30 p.m. for cpr training and training on how to use a defibulator. A lot of the snow we got last night has melted away, hopefully that was the last snow storm of the season. Have a good evening.

Hugs,
Shirl

Sing, sing a song....

Saturday, April 04, 2009

What a fabulous day...not only has the sun been shining all day, but I've managed to carry a song in heart all day! Woo Hoo.

Garry had the day off work today also, so we measured out the floors that we want to redo...headed into the city and ordered our new flooring. I'm so excited...we are putting cork flooring in the back entry way/laundry room/powder room, the front entry and the kitchen. It's taken us so long to decide what we wanted to do, and then to find something we both really liked. I've been wanting cork for a long time and now I'm going to have it. We are going to have them come in and install the entry ways, we have purchased the cork for the kitchen and when we finally get our plans in order for the kitchen, Garry will install that himself. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks...I'll have some new floors. We decided to bite the bullet and do the floors this year. The government has a tax incentive ...we'll be able to claim any home repairs on income tax this year. It's a one shot deal, so now is the time.

I've been singing along with the radio, singing "This is the Day", "Wild Thing" (lol), "Mr. Blue Bird on my shoulder", "You are my sunshine:" and several more today.

Now we are getting ready to head out the door and back to the city to meet with friends for supper.

Have a wonderful evening everyone. I'm counting my blessings, are you counting yours?

Hugs,
Wanda

April 02

Thursday, April 02, 2009

Thank you Kathy for the sunshine you've been sending...it's much appreciated, now I'm not sure who the culprit was that sent all the snow flurries this afternoon...but you were a day late....yesterday was April Fool's Day! lol.

Thankfully the snow flurries only lasted a couple of hours and the snow doesn't appear to be thinking of staying around.

My take out Thursday consisted of :

Taking my son to work in the city when I got home from work. I will be doing that for the next month as the bus schedule from here to the city doesn't work with the hours when he has to be at work.
Taking Shy after work to the store.
Taking out frozen veggies and pasta from the freezer and preparing a yummy supper.
Taking the dishes out of the dishwasher, apparently, I am the only person that knows how to do that in our home! lol.
Taking out some new books from the library.....yay! more reading material.
and lastly....Taking out the dictionary to see what challenge I can come up with for tomorrow!

My day was fabulous, hope yours was too!

Hugs,
Wanda

Wanda, I just read your "puddle" blog! Oh my goodness! It sounded like the fall I took in Walmart a month ago. I guess someone had spilled something in the aisle and I hadn't even looked down to see it, so me in my flip flops went down SPLAT! And here you were being so careful around the puddle! Go figure!

My Abraham workshop is right here in Mesa, Az which is a suburb of Phoenix. Esther and Jerry Hicks have a home in Del Mar, Ca, so they make it to Phoenix about twice a year. It's only a 5 hour drive from there to Phoenix. I appreciate my income tax return which is enabling me to attend.

Have a wonderful weekend! Arizona sends you sunshine and warmth!
