Well the snow that didn't start last night has been falling all day. Heavy wet stuff!
Garry has been out to shovel twice already. Nice man, he decided to try and keep on top of it so I wouldn't have so much to try and clear before work tomorrow.

A lovely Serenity Sunday...spend most of the day relaxing and taking care of my inner being.

A day filled with blessings .

My positives:

chatted with my Mother in law this morning...she hadn't heard from us for a couple of weeks and was worried. She knows that my husband works in the automotive business and was worried he might not have a job. Sweet of her to be concerned.
Garry did the shoveling that was required today.
Kaeli finished her two day course on emergency response, so is now certified. Mine is due for renewal next year.
A relaxing day. Time to read, make a nice supper and catch up on the computer.
It's almost the end of March...surely spring must be coming!!!!
Challenges all posted...if you haven't already checked them...now's your chance!
A blessed day, after all, I woke up!

Have a wonderful evening. Thanks for stopping by...it's Motivation Monday tomorrow...are you motivated?

Finally got the picture of Shy uploaded. She was cold, but wanted to eat her ice cream...hence the jacket with the hood pulled up, the mittened hand and the spoon.
She does keep me entertained.

A beautiful Sunshine day...thanks Kathy and Nancy for sending the sunshine up north. Much appreciated! I'll have more please!

Kaeli phoned me at work today and we arranged to meet for lunch. It's been awhile since she and I had time with just the two of us. It was great to have a reconnection time. She is excited about two possible jobs starting in May in her field of archeology. Both positions are in British Columbia, but in areas that she is familiar with. She is also looking into finishing her Masters at the University of Adelaide in Queensland Australia. She hopes to have enough money set aside to go in a year. Shy is talking about getting a work visa and going with her. I've told them...I want to run away too and come with them!
Q is anxiously counting the weeks now until he heads back up north for his work. He loves being outdoors with a fishing rod in his hands. It appears that his season will start at the end of May.

My positives:
Sunshine, sunshine, sunshine.
Tomorrow is Friday...and Fabulous Friday to boot.
A lunch date with my eldest.
Supper in the oven.
So many more of you are blogging, which makes my day...I get to find out how everyones day is.
Grey's Anatomy is on TV tonight! Lost was last night!
Great books to read.
God, who supplies my needs.

Thanks for taking the time out of your day to spend with me.

I really appreciate your blog visits & comments. Thanks for the guidance about their importance in the 'scheme of things' - I've been juggling and trying to prioritize Spark activities without totally dropping all balls in the air right now. You are really getting 'weather' - hope the word, 'Spring', at least puts some sunshine into your life! We've had a bout of warmth but last night as I left work, I stepped out into another deep chill - just to remind us that the tail end of it is still whipping about!

Cute photo!

A beautiful sun shiny day day...but with 25km winds, not so warm!

It's been a good day, I've been able to accomplish my journaling before going to work as well as checking in on SP. My day just doesn't feel right until I've at least said good morning to everyone. I even had time this morning to do an Angel Card reading. A habit that I had gotten out of for awhile and lately have felt the need to re-introduce it into my life. My reading this morning was a confirmation to me of several things I have sensed in my life. I truly appreciate God's wisdom and am so grateful that He has chosen to bless me with this way of communicating.

I'm reading a very interesting book right now called " The Wisdom of Your Face" by Jean Haner. It is a very thought provoking book. According to ancient Chinese practice, you can tell alot about a person by observing their face. Your face tells a story about your life experiences. I like the fact that the book is written in layman's terms, with diagrams that help you to have a visual of what they are attempting to explain.
I did manage to pick up my own copy of The Artist's Way and look forward to continuing my journey through the 12 week course.
I have a mug that I love with a saying "So many books, so little time". It rather says it all for me!

My positives:
Sun...yes, I truly love having sunshine surrounding me.
Kathy's birthday....Happy Birthday Miss Mermaid!
Just enough work to keep me busy today.
It's payday! always a plus.
God and my surrounding Angels who help me to see that I'm exactly where I'm meant to be and that the future is what I create it to be.

Thanks for dropping by...have a wonderful evening,

Busy active lives! Rebecca Wood had the face reading article this month. Must be face reading month. There is so much to be interested in. Kids in the candy store! I get overstimulated at times. But I just want to learn, learn, learn. It makes life a real adventure. Never a shortage of information. Have a great Thoughtful Thursday.

Wanda...So happy that the Sunshine finally made it up there to the GWN for you... I hope that today will be much the same...
Thanks for the birthday wishes my friend... I am feeling so blessed to have all of you in my life and like you said my day doesn't feel right if I don't get to check in with my Spark friends... I too am so thankful for all of you...

Thanks so much for sharing your positives with me... And once again I had the opportunity to share HOW I got started blogging my positives with a new sparkfriend when she commented on my positive blogging... So just look what YOU started my friend... it is still working ... I'm thinking this positive stuff is contagious... LOL

Oh and something I've been meaning to tell you... If you want your Orchid to REALLY love you... get one of those little spray bottles and fill it with water... And spray your Orchid everyday... They love it... Then water it and let it drain weekly... Oh and don't forget to give it a little fertilizer every now and then too...
But I think the daily spraying is their favorite... lol

Have a wonderful day my Positive Friend...

Love and big hugs...

The mermaid... S... P... L... A... S... H oops just helping that orchid out... lol

I'm going to try to find the The Wisdom of Your Face - it sounds very interesting - especially as we age, our lines say so much about us - a nice map of our experiences!

I just saw this quote on Twitter last night:

"The book you don't read won't help.~Jim Rohn ~ So read 20 pages of a good book everyday"

Hi Wanda, it's been one busy day again. I did conquer some of the dust bunnies this morning and hope to catch the rest tomorrow. Joyce had almost gone into phneumoia, they did an x-ray and breathing treatment at the doctor's office and he wrote her two prescriptions, he also told her to quit smoking, she doesn't listen. I am excited Friday Clenton (DH) and I are going down to youngest daughters for a visit, she's the one that lost the step-son in Nov., her and DH have been having a real hard time dealing with Aaron's death, I keep them in my prayers. We might get some rain showers tonight and it's cooling back down some, but by weekend is suppose to warm up again. It sounds like you had a good day and hope you have the same tomorrow.

St. Patty's Day.

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

I love St. Patrick's Day...a day when everyone wants to claim Irish heritage! It's so much fun to see everyone with their bit of green on and in a cheerful mood.

My grandfather on my Mom's side was Irish, or least he claimed an Irish heritage, the only thing that I do know for certain is he was definitely filled with "blarney" and with a last name of "Kirkland" I would have thought there would have been more Scots than Irish...but have been told that all depends on how close to the border of Ireland and Scotland he was!

My positives:

A good day at work...not too busy, just the right amount of work.
Talking Tuesday...had lot's of opportunities to chat with various different people.
Got my claims forms all filled out and submitted...hopefully I will get a rebate of some sort on my glasses.
YES! the taxes are all done and filed! WOOOOOO HOOOOOO!
-12 today....but the sun was shining...always a plus.
Thursday is the "first day of Spring"....even though the weather forecast is calling for more snow on Thursday and Friday. It's a light at the end of a tunnel!
I'm just plain feeling great...mostly because I choose to feel great.
Life is wonderful and God always brings me blessings each day.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful evening. Don't forget tomorrow is Writing Wednesday. Take up the challenge.

I've taken your approach (Most days) to choose to have a good day... While it doesn't always work that way... I bounce back from the negative so fast now it amazes me... lol Thanks for your continued leadership on being positive... What a change it has made in my life...
And I'm glad that you are enjoying my flowers... I love sharing them with you especially because you still have snow... it's the least I can do for my GWN friend... lol
Oh and My Birthday is the 18ht of March... I'm a Pisces... LOL But I have decided that I'm not sure I want them to continue coming... I'm good at this age... hee hee

Have a great evening my friend... COME ON SPRING!!! emoticon

I'm done, I'm done, I'm well almost done!

Monday, March 16, 2009

Okay after spending the past three hours working on the computer doing income taxes for this year...I can finally say that I'm "almost" done. I did get mine and Garry's filed using netfile...but poor Shy is missing a T4 that she should have had by the end of Feb. I've spent time this morning trying to track it done and it seems that "pass the buck" is the game of the day with this company she used to work for. I have asked them if they could please look into it and if nothing else today, at least get me the numbers I need and then put a copy of her T4 into the mail. I netfile our taxes so will still be able to do that without having the physical piece of paper...although I do need that for the records.

Now I need to go and take care of some other financial things, such as getting the optomitrist's office to sign my claims forms for my glasses. Garry's company has changed their policy and now have new forms...but hey, I'll do what is necessary...getting back $250.00 of the $800.00 that my glasses cost is a huge help! I also have to check into whether I claim a portion ($300.00) against the "wellness" fund that we have at my place of work.

But before I can do that....I need to get outside and shovel ....yep, you got it, more snow! Thank you Lord, for providing me with a means of working off my income tax frustration and burning some calories. Life is good.

My positives:
Income taxes are "almost" all done, two at least are filed.
I live in a country where it's possible to make medical claims for ones glasses.
I have a means of burning calories and getting exercise after sitting all morning.
That being said...I am out the door.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day.

We are forunate, being retired we only file for property taxes and this year for the very first time we qualifed for a heating credit, we have a couple ladies from AARP that come right here to our building and fill out peoples taxes, can't hardly beat that and it's a free service, a perk to being a senior citizen. We are going to have a few carry out dinners tonight due to people being sick, we'll be taking them their dinner. Been seeing lots of nice fat Robins out in the yard, can't imagine it still shoveling and snowing more. I'll try and find a warm breeze and send it your way. lol.
